What makes both of them stand out is the fresh ingredients they use. So many pizza joints use packaged toppings. Like sausages or hamburg that looks like deer turds... At Tbird the hamburg is browned intp fine bits that guarantees a mouthwatering beef flavor in every bite. The sausage is real sausage, sliced thin. I used to go here and eat literally all the time (food is decent enough), they know me by face and number yet I was treated so horribly for trying to order delivery over the phone. I'd like to start off by saying that until today I thoroughly enjoyed the taste and quality of the food i've received here, even though not always the customer service. But now, I'll never again put one penny into this dying business. At 5:28pm this evening I ordered approximately $25 worth of food to be delivered to me. I used to live a 1/4 mile up the street from Leo's and frequented the place for YEARS at least 2 times a week until I moved recently. I had a hankering for some calzones and ordered a delivery to my new place. The woman on the phone was very nice and attentive, and as I asked for everything well done on a Saturday night I told her no need to rush. She gave me a delivery time of 1 hour, which I was completely fine with. 40 minutes later, I get a call from the same woman. She stated that the owner told her they "don't deliver over there". I was confused as I gps'd Leo's prior to calling and it's only 1.5 miles away from me. (I said this to the caller) I could hear a man in the background barking orders at her, and could tell she was nervous. I asked to speak to the gentleman/owner who ended up being "Leo" of Leo's T Bird Pizza. At first he was very nonchalant, as I was trying to speak he interrupted me saying he "doesn't come to this side of Main Street", "we don't deliver THERE", and that I was "out of his area". The funny thing is, his website states verbatim, "WE DELIVER ALL DAY"-"DELIVERY MINUMUM $15", and "DELIVERY CHARGE $2". I was fully willing to spend the minimum which I already had, and pay the $2 delivery charge, plus a tip to the driver. And again, I'm 1.5 miles away from this business. Not 2 miles, not 5 miles. My neighborhood has a large African-American and Hispanic population, and I myself am half Hispanic and half Caucasian. His meaning was unbelievably clear to me and I spoke of my conclusion very clearly. He hung up in my face. I called back. Asked point blank if my already cooked food was being brought to me or not, and let him know I could be waiting outside looking extremely WHITE and waving if that helped. He hung up again. His business is in one of the nicest neighborhoods in Worcester, and I guess he doesn't feel that the people on "this side of Main Street" deserve to enjoy his food. I picked up some pizza tonight from Leo's for dinner. It was a bit busy so they had several people working behind the counter. A very nice young man called out to help people in line. An older gentleman, who I believe is the owner, was working next to him and started berating him right in front of the customers in line. He said that the young man was basically in the way and shouldn't be offering to help people. And he actually said to him, "Let them wait!" meaning those of us that were in line! The young man left shaking his head and all of the other workers just kept their heads down like they were very familiar with this behavior from their boss. Absolutely awful. So you have to get "The Bomb" salad. A grilled chicken saload with their own mix of buffalo and bbq marinade. The chicken to salad ratio is big, like ALOT of chicken. I say split this and a pizza or sub. The pizza is typical , house of pizza style, which I like. The chesse blend seems a little different but good. My husband got a toadted italian sub. My co workers and I have been ordering here for about 4 years. The food is average, I have never had a major issue with the food to complain. We usually spend 50 to 100 dollars. When the driver delivered we did not gather enough money for his tip. When a co worker went back to get more money to tip the driver he told us "we can pick up the fucking food next time". I was so appalled I called the own and his response was "did you tell him you were getting more money?" I said no, after he he mouthed off and walked out. He said "Well they survive off their tips" I said, Is that how you treat your customers? He said, " No" I Said what are you going to do about this? He said "I don't know why?" I said I think an apology from him would be suffice. He said he wont do that and I need drivers so......" I said ok. Horrible experience, lousy non appreciative employees. Placed pickup order on phone 25 minutes prior to showing up. Employee taking my order could not understand what I was ordering (15" T-Bird Special Pizza, extra sauce. Simple order.) I get there and I have no order at all waiting on me. I explained I called correct store even described order taker. All they did was ask if I still wanted the pizza, still paid full price for AND received no apology. Disrespectful staff! Their employees don't know what information they are giving to you on phone. I was trying to order a delivery today for T bird pizza and asked the lady on phone if they would charge me extra for putting veg toppings instead of ham pepperoni and hamburger. At first she told me that she wouldn't charge me anything extra for those toppings. After giving her the order, she said the pizza will cost for 22 dollars now! I asked her how much would they charge me for every extra topping.. she didnt know the answer to it. She kept giving me the prices of 2 3 topping pizzas from their menu instead of giving me price for 1 extra topping on a pizza. When I asked her to just put an order of veggie pizza instead, she gave the phone to the owner who was very rude. He said "do you know what you want,I pay my employees by hour" Well I think they should keep a phone call recorder to hear how their employees are giving wrong information to customers and then charging extra. Please train your employees. No matter how good your food is, if you do not know how to treat your customers with respect, there are tons of other places here that have good food and people would give no damn about your food. read more
