I would NOT recommend anyone to this store where the tailor treated me SO poorly, made excuses and was insincere in he lameness of his apology before dismissing me like some dog on the street. I recently needed a new pair of pants altered, and the folks at Club Monaco recommended John the Tailor. They said he was the best in downtown, and that most people in the city core love him. Well, you can add me to that list! The changing rooms are actually changing rooms with locks on the doors, not those small compartments with curtains that make you feel so vulnerable. With a quick tuck here and a single swish of his tailor's chalk, John has your measurements done in no time and you can be off to run other errands in the mall. He doesn't waste your time, and that's one thing I really like about him. He also hums and whistles while he works, which I think is rather endearing. I asked him if he could have my pants (two pairs) done sooner, and he said he'd try to get them done in a day. I came back at the end of the next day, and both my pants were altered just to my liking. It came to $34 for both my pants, which I think is fair for the quality of the work. It's like I bought them just like that. Taking in a pair of pants at the waist will cost more than simply adjusting the hems. The staff are helpful and friendly; one guy was conversing with an elderly lady when I picked up my tailoring. They seem quite busy here, as there is always someone there when I come by, and it seems you have to specifically ask for a rush order, otherwise it could take a few days because they have so many orders coming in. I'm definitely taking my clothes to John again the next time I need some altering done. If you're downtown and need a good tailor, remember -- John's the man! Thanks, John!

I was very satisfied with the service and always said I wanted my pants to be touching the floor without shoes on....every time! I don't know her name but i went in enough that she recognized me. I had taken in a pair of black linen pants and went through the whole scenario of trying them on, have them touch the floor without shoes and then I just picked them up a few days later. I didn't try them on right away because I've never had a problem. I took them with me on a trip a couple of weeks later. When I put them on, they were a solid inch and a half too short. I can't wear them. I took them back in to see if maybe she could let the hem down but it didn't look like enough fabric was left. She said 3/4 of an inch was all she could do But I would have to pay, Again!! I got pressed about having a receipt. I had taken another pair of pants with me that day that needed to be hemmed. I thought maybe she would even offer to do those for free for compensation, but the only solution was for me to pay for her to fix what she did wrong in the first place. Needless to say, I didn't leave my other pair of pants and found a new Tailor.

I brought in one of my favourite pants which I hadn't worn in a year because I needed to get it in hemmed and she did an excellent job. She was also very respectful of the restrictions, which I appreciated. In addition, she was selling some great handmade masks - she's a tailor after all- so how can you go wrong? The store is located just off 91st near Ellerslie it'll strip mall so there's lots of free parking. No complaints there! In fact, no complaints anywhere- this is a place I will be going back to next time I need anything fixed and considering I'm height challenged it will be soon!

So I had to pay another $20 to get my shirt today. The woman was rude and would not listen. I have spent hundreds $$ over the years supporting this business. If you want to do business here I suggest you never prepay and never use cash. I'll never be back!
