I gave four stars because five stars means, from my perception, indicates someone or some organization is "perfect!" Again, my perception tells me no one is perfect! Time has a way of passing us by; however I believe we have been with LePage and Sons for approx. 3-4 years. Both my wife and I believe in supporting those companies who are "family operated! We've had Lepage for over a year for residential service and never had a single issue. They come pretty early on pickup day and that's appreciated especially on windy days when lids don't seem to stay closed. Only reason for the one star deduction is the couple times I've called the office about a question and changing my payment method it seems to always take 2-3 phone calls to get someone to pick up, office always seems understaffed. read more

Up until yesterday I have always had good service with this company. I usually only take my can out once every 3 weeks or so. Usually my drivers come later in the morning or early afternoon but because compost season is over they came at 7:30 or so yesterday. My sister passed away a few weeks back and court for her probate was yesterday so I spaced getting the can out. I sent an email asking if it was possible to still have them pick it up. The reply I got was for $25 they could. I told them to forget it and now they can pick up every week instead. I don't mind that they have a business to run but they could have been a little more sensitive to my situation and just said they were no longer in the area. Be careful when you cancel your account (be sure you give 30 days notice) because if you are on autopay they take the full amount regardless and make you wait 2-3 weeks after they cancel your account before they credit back any differences! What a joke! read more

This company was good for a few years, now they are consistently terrible. My recycling is missed consistently and the compost driver keeps breaking the wheels off my can when he keeps slamming the can back onto my driveway after emptying. I have been a customer since 2016. Not only have they walked up my drive way to grab my cans when I forget to, but they also answer phone calls and emails very quickly. I needed to add an additional garbage can and the staff answered all my questions and helped to get it set up. They have been great to work with and I love that they have compost as well! Absolutely the worst garbage service I've ever had. Billing problems, excuses, poor service. They even burned a truck down on our street one year. Just do yourself a favor and go to any other service. If you cancel they make up a fictitious bill and then put you to a collection service for like 60$. Absolutely terrible People. They used to miss the garbage on our block at least once a month. Sometimes two. We were overflowing with garbage at times. We switched to Walter's and have never had an issue since. read more

I have had Lepage garbage service for around a year and a half. Today I called to see why they once again did not pick up the trash on trash day and was told that they have passed my service on to Walter's without asking or even telling me there intensions. I also have been verbally abused by the customer representative who has no business being a customer service rep as she has a terrible attitude. Stay away from LePage and Son's unless you like poor service that is canceled because they feel like it. Note that unlike all the other providers they sometimes pickup at 6:30 am and sometimes 5:30pm. Not sure why they are not consistent like the others. ETA-I just read through some of the reviews here and I'm honestly shocked to see so many negative reviews. Since switching to them last summer I have called several times to ask questions or request and they've been great. They have also been super consistent about picking up at the same time every week. I just think it's weird that so many people are saying the opposite of the experience I've had so far. I have had 4 garbage companies since moving to my current home. We started with ECS with no issues or complaints. Unfortunately they were bought out by WM and our price quickly doubled. So we switched to another company and had a terrible experience with them. So we switched again to LePage and Sons sometime last summer. I just felt I had to leave a positive review for them today because not only have they been super easy to deal with anytime I've had questions or requests (such as leaving extra cans out for them to pickup) but they have really gone above and beyond what I would expect them to do and I think it's important to recognize companies that still do that. Today it was -10 degrees or colder. I was running late to get my son to an appointment and asked my boyfriend to get the garbage from our shop and bring the can down. While he was getting the garbages together the truck showed up and he thought he had missed them. But when he went out they were actually walking up and grabbing the cans and bringing them down for us. They could have easy passed by and kept moving. It's not their responsibility to get the cans down to the end of the driveway so I would never expect it but it was truly appreciated by us. It's quite the difference from our last company who stopped even coming to pick up our trash because I hadn't gotten it down a few times. They didn't just keep driving (which would be completely understandable) they just didn't come one week. They never contacted me about it. And when I contacted them wondering why they never came they said I would have to call to let them know the can was out by 6am on our pickup day or they wouldn't come. They also refused to come out at all that week and refused to refund the money I had paid for pickup in advance. The difference between the two companies and how they treat their customers really makes a huge difference. Beware: This company was very good for several years. Then garbage pickup would be missed here and there. I would call and let them know I was missed. They would first say if the can isn't at the curb by 6am there is nothing they can do. I assured them it was down the night before. They still were not going to send a truck to pick it up. I said that is not an option, and they sent a truck two days later to pick it up. This same thing would continue over the next few months. A week here and there no pickup. They said we have new drivers and please be patient. This paired with the cost doubling over two years. I canceled my service. They then sent a bill for an additional $50 to pickup their cans from my house. There are much better choices out there, so shop around. I switched and not only am I back to half the cost of Lepage, I have not had to deal with garbage or recycling not being picked up. read more

I've been with them for 1 year and received my bill for the next year and the price went up 50 %. No first year discount they just decided to charge an extra Environmental fee that none of the other haulers know about? I cancelled their service only to find out they need a 30 day notice that none of the other haulers require ? When I called to cancel, they told me they needed one month notice so I would be billed for another month. Fine. I received my bill and they charged me for an "extra tip" fee of 7.00. Charges twice as much as competitor (ACE), lied to me about getting a cancellation notice that was sent by certified mail and only when I called them on it did they acknowledge and then still charged me an extra month. Additionally, they charge $54 just to take their cans back! Talked to ACE about it and they couldn't believe it. Avoid at all costs. These last few months have been a nightmare. Finally got tired of their missing garbage days and needing to call the next day to remind them to fulfill their commitment and actually pick up my garbage. On April 13th (still snowing) asked that they cancel my business with them, refund me the $89 already paid for the 2108 compost season and come pick up their cans. This is a family owned local buisness. They do a great job and go above and beyond. I felt compelled to write a review after seeing all the negative reviews which unfairly paint a poor picture of a good company. They do a great job. Infact, when a competitors truck just spilled a neigbors trash all over the place it was a Lepage driver who when they stopped to pick up my trash got out of his truck and picked up all the trash that was blowing down the street. When I have forgotten to bring my can down they have came up and got it from the side of the house. They wave when they see you out on your property. They also really try hard to stay competative with the other big out of state companies that are in my neighborhood which means they are not extortionate. Extra trash no problem with reasonable fees. I have been nothing but happy with them. There was one day where we had an epic snowstorm/icestorm and no trucks were able to come out not even this companies but when it was safe to do so they came out and picked up everything. We switched to a local company over the big guys from another state. We have been happy with LePage's service since we started with them several years ago. It's true that they are not the big guys, but they are the nice guys. We have never had a problem with them. They are polite, drivers, office employees, anyone I have spoken with. Last week I had to leave home at four a.m. I forgot to put the can out when I left. When I returned home I found my can on the street and it was empty. I guessed that my wife had put the can on the street but she told me that no it wasn't her. Apparently the driver came up to the house and found the can full and he took it to the street and emptied it. I have forgotten the can with both of the services. The national guys and LePage. The national pick up service had never made any effort to help me out. This is the third time one of the LePage drivers have emptied the can when it wasn't on the street. We are very happy with the service we get and with the response when we call with a question. read more

I have been with them for two years. They started charging me every two month without letting me know. Also, they have missed me twice within those years. I was just charged for the next two month but I called to cancel after these two months are over and she said said I needed to notify them one month ahead before canceling so she will be charging me a $42 cancellation fee to cover for another month? June 30 2020 Driver in our neighborhood today (123rd Av N W and Grouse St., Coon Rapids) driving exceedingly fast (30 mph) which is way too fast for a 20-30 ton truck to stop. Driver didn't seem concerned when I yelled and I made the "slow down sign hand signal" instead came back the other direction past me and wife just as fast. We live in Andover and they have consistently either missed picking our garbage up or picked it up at around 8 pm at night--if they didn't miss it altogether. I have had to call on at least 4 occasions. To top it off, they are increasing their fees. I have had leaves get wet in the biodegradable bags because they didn't pick it up the day they were supposed to. They don't apologize and have yet to actually return my calls. I will use their yard waste this year and once that season is over I am going to switch!!! Don't bother with them as you are likely to have your trash out late at night or not picked up at all. **update, last night 10/25/17 they picked up the yard waste at 9 pm. Broke down and paid it but they claim they never received payment so still harassing me. The were sporadic on pick up, when I called and actually got a hold of someone, they were rude.
