They've missed our garbage multiple times. when we ask about it we get attitude from Jennifer saying we need to leave cans out the night prior, which we do every time. When we stopped services with them, my husband asked her what day they are picking up the cans and if they should be empty she texted back saying "I'm not sure what's confusing about this" Absolutly RUDE and no way to talk to another human being let alone a customer. Hence why we are switching companies. Would absolutely not recommend their services. Terrible customer service from Jennifer. Try being kinder to your future customers. read more

Requested service twice. 1st time they told me they didn't service Government Rd. Harris, MN which is right next to Rush City, MN try Talon out of Pine City, MN. The 2nd time they told me we are not taking anymore customers on Government Rd. try Talon again out of Pine City. There are Pete's can up and down Government Rd. Our neighbor south right next door use the have Pete's till they moved. I guess I'm confused why they don't want our business because they actually service this area because even on their website posts they service Chisago County which we are. read more

Tried setting up service with them multiple times using different methods. Sent them an email, filled out their online form through their website, called twice on both numbers they had listed got voicemail both times and left detailed messages about what service I needed. Included name, service needed, address, and call back number. They never attempted to reach out to me or help me setup service had to use a different company. If I can't get ahold of anyone to setup services I can't imagine what happens if I had an issue using them. Can't get ahold of anyone. No customer support. read more

I have been a customer of Pete's Rubbish Hauling for the past 6 years and there service has been immaculate. I have not had a single day where my trash was not picked or there were any issues. The price for their service has been consistent and any other changes were very well communicated in advance. It is a family owned business and I believe it started with the parents and now their kids are handling it and have done a great job maintaining the standards for their service. Well, I know its trash hauling. But if you live in St. Paul you've got to arrange pickup yourself, no city trucks at your beck and call. But, Who reviews trash hauling? It's trash, if it goes away once a week you're golden. Pick anybody and it'll be fine, right? No! Actually, a good hauler is awesome, and Pete's is awesome! Pete's is cheap: The big trash companies promise you cheap prices at the outset, but raise them after a few months when they've hooked you. Pete's charges fairly and rarely raises prices. Pete's is nice: A family run business with real humans when you call. They will walk up and get your trash if you forget to put it out (the big companies NEVER do that). They are mellow if you have extra trash after basement cleanout or whatever...the big guys will charge you extra. Pete's is GREEN: They haul their trash to a sorting location that does the right thing with trash by recycling as much as possible. Some of the big companies don't bother... Pete's is funny: A friendly guy drives the truck, he waves, he says hello, he lets my son gawk at the big truck and talk to the big truck driving guy. Unlike the grumpy underpaid guys that drove for the big company I used last year. Obviously trash pickup is a hard, cold, exhausting job, so I think it's extra points for smiling! So, I guess I've said all I can about Pete's. I mean, it's a basic service. But that's why it's all the better that it's so reliable. Giving your money to a company you can feel good about run by real people is a pleasure, and I'm glad I found them. read more

I'm sure Pete's is a great trash hauler, but please tell your drivers NOT to back down alleys. The one I just witnessed was going awfully fast in the alley between Parkview Ave and Arlington street in St. Paul. Been a Pete's customer for a little over a year and they are terrific. They are very diligent and care a lot about their customers (particularly seniors on a fixed income) and communicate the pricing very clearly. Service is outstanding, garbage is always picked up even from our narrow alleyway which was icy and treacherous for several weeks this year. I hope that we get to retain Pete's after St Paul transitions to consolidated collection. read more

Family business and the best price in town. It doesn't happen very often that you have a fun conversation with the person you're talking to when you call to set up trash pick-up service. They've been great about hauling away a few large items without extra costs too. Their work may be garbage but their service is far from trash! read more

They have great customer care and when they say they are going to do something, they do it and follow through. Because of a sale of business, I ended up with a large more corporate rubbish hauler - found their customer service to be terrible. What a difference to work with Pete. I have been with Pete's for over 10yrs and love this company. They are always so nice to deal with and talk to. They have helped me with larger items that I need to get rid of over the years too. I highly recommend them to anyone. I seen some not so nice reviews of Pete's and after reading them and was angry that some people would think that they don't need to put there trash out on their pick up day. Also when I have been out of town, I called and let them know and they put my cart back by the house after they dumped it. It's so nice to deal with a family owned company than the big guys. I did receive a letter from them about Pete retiring and Jennifer and Jason taking over. Jennifer is a sweetheart to talk to just like her Mom was. We have chatted a few times over this year when I have had questions. Oh well, some people find it's easier to complain than to say something nice on the web. I've been with Pete's Rubbish for 16 years and the recent change of ownership to the daughter and son-in-law most definitely does not uphold the promised, "same continued customer service." It's clear the son-in-law (person in the truck) has issues with where the receptacle is placed and putting it back. I live on an alley with a 4-foot-long driveway. Since I've been a customer we have never had to or been asked to bring your receptacle to the end of the "driveway" on collection day. It has never been a problem. I travel a lot and only have a bag of garbage about once a month. The new owner now leaves the receptacle at the very edge of the "driveway" causing problems for the alley plow. Didn't think it was that big of a deal until he left me a lovely note about not having the receptacle location plowed out properly (I have all the snow removed from a very wide area all the way down to the cement). This may seem petty, but I don't have time to worry about moving my receptacle 4 feet out and back each week and coming home to notes from the garbage hauler that previously had no problems for 16 years. It seems the level of customer service isn't a priority for these new owners. I am switching my service to another small locally-run business with the same pricing. read more
