Absolute favorite bakery in Grosse Pointe! Every time I bring a friend from out of town they rave about it! I've loved their pesto chicken salad (even tried to recreate it myself!) and have started buying the brand of coffee they use. My only complaint is that their bakery items (mostly croissants) are often over baked and kind of tough to eat. But I totally recommend! read more

I personally loved this shop. You can tell they are passionate about fresh and tasty pastries and breads. The person who cashed me out was also very nice and helpful with the menu! I agree with another reviewer that I was expecting more of a lowkey, jazzy vibe in the inside, but I don't mind much. I chose to sit outside to read for a bit and I'm glad I did because the downtown area was very calm and relaxing - not loud at all. I ordered the mixed berry croissant with cheesecake and it was delicious. I will say it was VERY flaky (which was delicious) but admittedly I felt the croissant was a little overdone (my preference is just for softer croissants so maybe next time I'll try a different pastry warmed up). It was still delicious, though. I also ordered an iced dirty chai with whole milk. Overall, I think this was a disappointing drink. It was honestly kind of tasteless to me (maybe it's because I got it iced?). This isn't enough to knock a review to 4 but I was surprised about it. It was still refreshing to have on a weekday morning reading sesh, though. Overall, great vibes and delicious pastries. Definitely give this spot a try if you're in town! read more

This store location holds a special spot for me, since it was ages ago that I worked at the grocery store that this bakery resides in. It was Cornwall bakery before the current location. My mother and I went here once a while back, she was hoping to get a breakfast (she favors any kind of Benedicts), she wasn't feeling any of the sandwiches or menu options, so we ended up only getting their butter croissants and pain au chocolate. Both were decent. They have an extensive variety of breads for whatever occasion. Definitely a go to spot for breads and pastries. read more

I've had this place on my list for a long time and am so happy to have finally visited on a sunny spring day. the staff was friendly and kind. there were so many treats to choose from that it was hard to make one choice but we went with the ham and cheese croissant, coffee, and a BLT. everything was fresh and delicious. the ambiance is cozy with the perfect amount of sunlight and locals enjoying brunch. would absolutely come back to try out more treats or just spend some time studying here :) read more

3.5 We were visiting from out of town and told that this place was a good stop. Our honey lavender lattes were very good but the food was so mediocre. One of our salads even had wilted, slimy leaves. My sandwich was something I could make at home. There was a fly circling us while we ate and it was a bit obnoxious to have a seat where people were bringing their used dishes- very noisy. Oh my goodness! This is one of those places that if I could give more than 5 stars, I would! LeRouge Boulangerie is absolutely divine from head to toe! The interior space is so warm and inviting, tons of seating, feels like you step into another world - perhaps a more Parisian world??? - when you come in here. There are cozy couches, countertop tables along the front windows, and little seats and tables throughout! Everything about this place is lovely! And as if the immaculate vibes weren't enough already, the food! AHHHHH! Hands down the best croissants I have ever had outside of France! This boulangerie knows exactly what it's doing and I am so thankful for that! I'm just mad that it's located all the way out in Grosse Pointe Park, but I'm thankful to have friends who live on one of the streets just off of the downtown area, so that I can come and visit LeRouge to my heart's content! I got a matcha latte (divine - they know how to do their matcha) and my friend and I shared both their everything croissant (savory - the cream cheese was so sharp and paired so well with the buttery croissant and everything bagel seasoning, I wish an everything croissant was more common!) and their pain au chocolat (sweet and PERFECT)! They had so many more baked goodies than croissants too like breads, cookies, pastries galore, sandwiches, the list goes on! Everything, I believe, is made in house and you get a bit of a glimpse of their kitchen in the back as people come in and out of it. The service here is top tier as well! There was a bit of a wait in the line to order and once we got to the front, the employee thanked us for our patience and was so friendly as we placed our order. My friend also accidentally dropped her credit card here and when we retraced our steps back to LeRouge, they had found it and was keeping it behind the counter for safekeeping and that was absolutely wonderful as well!!!! This place is simply stunning and I would come here every day if I lived in GPP! Y'all are lucky and more people need to know about this place! Do NOT sleep on it! I stopped in for the first time to try 1 item- the cruffin (to go)! It didn't disappoint. It was fresh, perfect for a single serving, and had a caramelized bottom. There was a wait when I walked in, but the line moved quickly. There's amble seating inside as well as a number of tables right outside the restaurant. There was a sizable crowd, which is a good sign. I'll return for a latte, soon! I was also told their chocolate chip cookies are pretty good. Such beautiful, large, and yummy croissants!! My friend had an assortment of these to share, and I tried a sun dried tomato pesto cream cheese one and it was divine. Flavor and texture both on point. Also had some of their French baguette for a sandwich and that was wonderful as well! Perfectly crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. Okay so I just stumbled upon this place today and y'all, I'm so upset I didn't know about it before. Talk about the cutest coffee shop ever, I will be spending plenty of my lunch hours here! The staff is so sweet, the coffee is delicious & the food menu is better! I think the menu is quite large AND unique for being a coffee shop & the ambiance makes it all. Had extra time this morning so I stopped in for first time. The hours aren't really catered to working people. Opens late for an coffee shop in my opinion. The ambience is just the cutest. I tried a vanilla latte and blue berry muffin, which was very tasty. When looking at the website, I read the flavors are housemade. Drinks come in one size but so good next time I might grab two. Today we had the worst $40 breakfast at this restaurant. The egg sandwich and hash brown patties had zero flavor except for oil. They were coated in oil so much that the egg would not stay on the bun. When I asked for ketchup for the hash browns, I was told they didn't have any. When I wanted a refill on my coffee I was told that refills were half off but that I would have to stand in line for another 20 minutes. The last straw was a group of teenagers talking so loud that we couldn't enjoy our conversation because their voices carried throughout the entire restaurant. What we had hoped to be a special treat during a 3 day power outage turned into a bad taste in our mouth, The set up is bad- only 1 cash register- a long line, and 2 girls standing behind the counter doing nothing. I come here every couple of weeks or so for a coffee and some of their really great bakery items. But today i was nearby with my wife and we decided to get lunch. I ordered the Wagyu Brisket Sandwich, I swear it's the best sandwich I ever had. It was made to order and only took 3-4 mins to come to our table and it was incredible.
