Plenty of indoor seating available in this cozy cafe!

This little gem cafe, tucked right in downtown SCS, is a perfect stop for homemade soups, sandwiches, coffee, and baked goodies! Jack and Karen, the owners, are the nicest people and so hardworking to provide the best quality food and atmosphere! I did the soup/sandwich combo with chicken noodle and the club sandwich (on panini bread); both were fresh and delicious! I also had the white chocolate caramel mocha which was also wonderful!

Saint Clair Shores hidden gem! This is the best place to go for breakfast and lunch. Not only do they have dozens of options for food but they have almost every kind of syrup flavor that you can add to your coffee! The owners are so personable and will make you feel the most welcomed. A great place for sit down or carry out.

I love the place! I haven't personally tried the food but I have had the cookies and the Italian soda and it's very good! The workers were very helpful and the shop is so cozy! Definitely worth it!

This is a cute little spot that we stopped in to have a quick breakfast and some coffee. I was working in grosse pointe and he decided to meet me for breakfast. That always makes my day start off on a good note. This is a fairly small cafe but the food was amazing. The coffee was great, and the company even better.

Far Bella - "FAR" are the 1st initials of 3 of the owners' relatives. The place is right across from Shores Inn. They celebrate the holidays with great decorations cleverly reusing them for Halloween Thanksgiving and Christmas. Come in for a view stay for a meal and or coffee!

I love this place! The cutest cafe in downtown SCS with a very large menu. They have something for everyone. The owners are incredible kind and the service is always good. I highly recommend the Lobster Bisque soup and the rest of the menu too!

    Welcome to Cafe Far Bella!

OOOHHHHH yes!!! I'd give this shop another five stars if I could! Caffe Far Bella came on trusted recommendation and with a little help from Yelp. I wanted to start the early afternoon with a new coffee shop experience. This shop definitely lives up to its excellent name! I met the owner, Jack, shortly after arrival and he seems like one who never has a bad day and you immediately feel the warm welcome mat from him. This shop has been at this location for around five years and seems like a pillar in this shopping area. In looking at the chalked-up classic blackboard menu, the eyes popped open with joy when Mexican mocha was on this list! When I asked Jack if this was from a powder, he duly and proudly informed me that its a Michigan Mex mocha and then bean-counted the ingredients to me one by one - and I said, Cool!! OK folks! This is serious! Real coffee lovers like to taste the coffee in their speciality drinks, rather than have it taste like it's five full scoops of sugar with two ounces of espresso. Pardon the hyperbole! I didn't have this problem at CFB! I was elated at the taste of the Mex mocha mix and could fully taste the coffee - in fact it was dominant taste in a good way! The way it should be. Jack got the Elite treatment in my compliments during my visit!! But this wasn't the last one! Hungry guy then wanted a sandwich, which also came with a choice of side. I am not a tomato soup fan, never have been. I have no explanation as to why I chose the tomato basil bisque, but it was only available on Mondays and felt like a perfect compliment to the Italian pesto panini I chose as the main course. Well, I lost my case of the Mondays instantly after the first scoop! The texture, spicing, etc. were spot on! Look forward to a do-again someday! The panini mainly consisted of ham, salami, provolone cheese, and a terrific pesto blend. It was delicious! And it was cut in three parts and is a good size, so much so that you will be filled by the time you finish! Many thanks to Jack for caring about the customer! Keeping a clean shop all areas including the restroom (among the cleanest I've seen)! In the end, and this is a long Rev-iew!, What I enjoyed most today was watching an owner who loved his work and it's there for all of us here to see! Having a rough day? Head to Far Bella's and tell Jack to "Go ahead - make my day!" With the coffee that is! Easily a stellar go-to shop with tremendous atmosphere, service, food, and many coffee selections to choose from! Bookmark now! Make the visit too! Recommend: VERY HIGH

Not a friendly staff. Plus this place does not let you work on a tablet or laptop. No wonder the place was empty when I stopped there.

The inside has an old-school diner vibe, which could be charming, but the overall experience didn't quite match. Staff interaction was neutral--not unfriendly, but not particularly welcoming either. My husband ordered the Lynne sandwich and I had the Adele, along with a bowl of matzo ball soup. The soup was definitely the highlight--flavorful and comforting--but at nearly $9 for a bowl, it felt overpriced for what you get. Unfortunately, the sandwiches didn't live up to expectations. The meat was piled in the center of the bread, leaving the ends with little to nothing in each bite, which made them feel poorly constructed and just overall mediocre. We were also surprised by the number of upcharges--extra for toasting the bread, extra for grilling, and even a 3% fee for using a credit card. It all adds up quickly. For two sandwiches and a shared soup, our total came to just over $40, which felt steep given the quality. It's disappointing because we wanted to like this place, but the high prices just didn't align with the food or experience. Unfortunately, we'll likely be crossing Uncle Harry's off our list.

I was a bit annoyed by the people standing in front of the counter as if that was going to get them called faster. I had to go down the aisle to talk to the lady when my number was called because some dude wouldn't budge. (Not the fault of the business of course). The staff was so nice and gave me suggestions on what to try. The service was excellent. For sandwiches, we tried the Italian and prosciutto. The meats were really good. Unfortunately, the oil and herbs wasn't on my husband's sub, and I think they accidentally put mild peppers instead of hot. 3/5 I learned you come here for the baked goods!!!! I tried the tiramisu, cannoli, and got an old fashioned donut for my hubs. I had a harm time choosing what delectable sweet to take home. The tiramisu was stellar. 5/5 I wish the front had a little less wine and a seating area to have a donut and coffee. It's not that kind of place to sit down and have an espresso, but still a very cool spot. They have an online order option which I'll try next time.

It has a cute, classic diner feel--nothing recently updated, but it was clean and comfortable. Our waitress was very friendly and helpful, which we appreciated. We brought our three young kids and ordered them each a kids meal: chicken tenders with fries, spaghetti, and a cheeseburger with fries. The portions were generous and we even had leftovers, but at $10 per kids meal, the pricing felt pretty steep. We started with the bread basket and pickles, which were both good. My husband ordered the Monterey Jack chicken with mashed potatoes and gravy. He first tried the chicken noodle soup but thought it had a sour aftertaste, so he switched to the beef barley, which unfortunately wasn't much better. His chicken entrée had good flavor, but it was just one thin, butterflied chicken breast. I ordered the New Yorker with fries, which I enjoyed--it was solid and satisfying. When the bill came to around $80, it just didn't feel justified for a deli/diner-style meal. Overall, the food was okay, but the pricing felt high for what you get--especially for a family outing. I might stop in again solo for a sandwich, but we likely won't be bringing the whole family back, mainly due to the cost of the kids meals.

The batter is light and airy. The Russian dressing is quite bland. The slaw isn't enough to give the turkey Rueben sandwich taste or feel. The GF chicken tender looks like panko, it's crunchy and the meat is tender and not dry at all. The honey mustard sauce is too bad, he's BBQ too. The complimentary pickles are decent, not crunchy though. Service is good. Food quantity is quite generous here. The onion rings and the chili soup are both good. Bumpy cake was cut into row halves, that was thoughtful, it was quite good.
