The playground changed from when I was a kid, but the cement slides in the hillside are still there. The kids loved the antique German carousel, and I loved that it was very reasonably priced to buy tickets.

I think it's great…read morethat Yerba Buena Gardens is host to so many free and wonderful events throughout most of the year. There's a stage with a huge grassy area in front of it. They put out lots of chairs for anyone who wants to be entertained. Wonderful place to gather on a sunny day for any event. There's also a playground with play structures for families needing entertainment for kids and a merry-go-round nearby. The fountain with the M.L. King Memorial is a great piece of educational fun to walk under. On a hot day, the mist from the fountain is welcome. The Metreon next to the Gardens also is convenient for food or entertainment for hours and hours if you're looking to kill time! I've come here many times before, but never thought to write a review. It's about time!

Sunday, April 6, 2025: The birthday girl (Jenbert Jr. 2 will be three on April 10) and her big…read moresister attended the Breakfast with the Easter Bunny event. For us, the $100 was well-spent on one adult and two children. The event started with the Easter Bunny greeting every attendee and handing children a basket for the egg hunt. Breakfast included pastries, pancakes, bacon, sausage patties, scrambled eggs, and nearly every non-alcoholic breakfast/brunch drink under the sun. All attendees got unlimited Merry-go-round rides, which continued even after the event ended at 11am and the Merry-go-round opened to the public. Jenbert Jr. 2 loved the Merry-go-round and didn't want to get off-- and since she was unlimited, she didn't have to! The Easter egg hunt was very well-organized, with lots of eggs for even wobbly toddlers to find. The employees were good about making sure that there were lots of eggs for everyone. Jenbert Jr. 1 & 2 are still raving over the goodies that were in their baskets. Finally, there were a bunch of fun Easter-themed inflatables with bunnies, chicks, and even a Scooby-Doo with Bunny ears and a carrot! And let's not forget about the photo-op with the Easter Bunny! I'd bring back JJ1 & JJ2 next year, it was money well-spent and a very well-put-together event.

The train ride is less than 10 minutes with no cover so we brought our hats. It's a quick ride and you pass by the parking lot and a park. My girls enjoyed it. After we played by the nearby park. There is a bathroom close to the train ticket booth and lots of tables to enjoy a snack or even lunch. They were just starting the grill to cook the food for lunch but our girls were hungry so we left to get food elsewhere.

The Musical Stairs, located at Pier 39, is straight out of that old movie 'Big' in the late 80s…read more So every time you step on a stair, you're playing a piano note. When It's crowded near hear, sometimes it can be kinda hard to hear it. Kids love these stairs, and why not!! And when I say kids, I mean kids of all ages!! So, if you're at Pier 39, keep a lookout for these. They are located about the middle of the pier on the right side when entering the pier. It's definitely worth checking out!!

I visited twice this trip and felt I saw new plants and trees each time. The labeling of each plot was meticulous and I only wish I could have stayed in town long enough for the plant sale! -(Not that I could've taken any home, lol!) "My father was a fisherman My mama was a fisherman's friend"…read more(Paul Simon) I was a little confused (that happens on an increasingly regular basis) about Fisherman's Wharf and Pier 39. Are they the same thing? Are they different things? They're kind of in the same location and have the same kind of things. So, what's the deal? Well, Fisherman's Wharf is the whole waterfront neighborhood; tourist-heavy Pier 39 is just one part of it and sits right in the middle. The Wharf runs from Pier 33, where the Alcatraz ferries leave, all the way up to Ghirardelli Square. Other than Pier 39, the other big pieces of the Wharf are Jefferson Street's seafood and souvenir shops, Taylor Street's working fishing fleet, Ghirardelli Square's chocolate, Aquatic Park's historic ships, the Cannery's brick courtyard, and Pier 45's WWII vessels. And how can I forget the iconic San Francisco cable cars that zip around those streets. We had a wonderful time just strolling around, popping into the stores, enjoying the scenery, and people watching.
