*This review is for the receptionist/booking process* I called to try booking an appointment for a massage and herbal consultation and the receptionist didn't know how much their services were, didn't listen to what I was asking, didn't send an email to the right email address, and didn't give me any confidence to go through with an appointment at this place. I said I would hold off on booking for now and call back if I decided to go through with it, and then had multiple calls from the office and a text message saying that my appointment was canceled because the acupuncturist actually isn't available that day. I never booked an appointment and never said I wanted acupuncture, so I was very confused. I'm glad I didn't give my credit card info because I feel like they would've accidentally charged me, too. I'm empathetic to the receptionist -- maybe she's new and trying her best etc, and maybe the acupuncturists/massage therapists are good, but I'm not interested in trusting a place that seems so unorganized. read more

I saw Angsar twice last month, to address some tightness and knots in my neck that caused pain in my upper back when I turned my neck. Angsar did cupping, massaging, and acupuncture. Angsar asked several times during my first session if the pain was gone, and when I told him the pain - while less - was still there would increase the intensity of the massage. He seemed very fixated on wanting me to be pain-free. I, on the other hand, did not expect the pain to go away in just one visit and was pleased that the pain had subsided. I went for a second visit a week later, with Angsar again checking several times if the pain was gone. When I told him that no, the pain was still there but had lessened, he took my right arm (he was standing behind me) and *very forcefully* yanked it above my head and to the left. At the time, I had a small (non-displaced) tear of the anterior labrum for which I was getting physical therapy. That violent pull worsened my tear and set me back weeks of healing. In the days following my appointment I needed help doing small, minor things like putting on a blouse or jacket. He is a strong man and I am petite and have a very slight frame. I understand that Angsar wants to help his patients, but 1) he shouldn't be so fixated on immediately eliminating pain and 2) should be more gentle with his patients and at a minimum check in before doing any kind of strong or rigorous manipulation. read more

I run and workout a lot, and do adult gymnastics once in a while, so sometimes I have wear and tear. I always go to Ansgar for acupuncture and cupping to keep myself away from serious injury. Pretty much everything in life is transactional. Nothing special, nothing personal, nothing individual. All made even worse by the pandemic. I was very happy to discover Dr Lee, and that his acupuncture, massage and eastern-medicine approach was an acceptation to the transactional. I actually feel "under his care" as rare as that sounds. He is laser-focused during your visit, has a bright smile when he sees you, always remember details and course of treatment, and seems to love what he does and helping people. I also like that he keeps repeat sessions very reasonable at $95 - so if I am on time, I get a loosening-up massage (somewhere between heaven and hell with Sciatica since he knows exactly what he is doing) followed by a comprehensive acupuncture and/or cupping. I owe so much to Ansgar Lee. Worked with Dr Adam Rey this past week. He was incredible. I've been a patient of Dr. Lee's in the past and had faith that anyone he chose to work with would be up to snuff. This review is for Adam Rey. I have been a patient at LES Acupuncture and Bodywork since February of 2020. I first saw Ansgar when I was experiencing terrible back spasms and the doctor I saw recommended acupuncture as a way to bring about some pain relief. Dr. Lee fixed me up good as new, but once COVID-19 hit, I had to stop going in for sessions. About a year later, I was in the same boat with debilitating back, neck, and shoulder spasms on my right side from stress and poor desk posture. I first found out about Dr. Ansgar Lee during my company's health fair in 2017. He was giving a free consultation at the time and did a pulse reading. I was always curious about pulse reading and if it's really legit (like knowing what's wrong with your body). So, to my surprise, Ansgar was able to tell I had stomach issues and the day prior I did in fact had diarrhea. I was amused by it, and eventually came 2018 when my spine, back, and neck were hurting really badly, I thought of him. I have been having tingling and numbing sensation around my lower back and eventually I wasn't able to walk properly on a few occasions. I made my first visit on May 3rd and have been seeing Dr. Lee since. As others mentioned, you can feel the difference in one session. It took me about 4 sessions to get the whole pain and numbing to a level one. I also had other issues where Dr. Lee would prescribe some herbs to me and help me regulate my body internally. I also did some cupping which to me was much less painful or rather close to no pain than another place I have been to. I seriously recommend anyone to go to see Dr. Lee, he is a very nice guy to have conversation with, and he always have these cool machines. I came to Ansgar after a really bad skateboarding wipeout. I wasn't really sure if it would help, but I figured it couldn't hurt to try since I was having slow results in PT. He starts off with a massage, and he can find every. single. spot. that hurts. He's like a laser and he knows exactly where to hit. Then he applies the needles. It wasn't easy at times, but I noticed a huge difference in my recovery once I started going to Ansgar. I've had morning sickness and nausea around the clock 24.7. I've spent all day on the bathroom floor retching and dry gagging and have been feeling horrible for the last week, progressively getting worse. I was desperate for relief. I've tried ginger, lemon, apple cider vinegar, seabands...you name it, I've tried it. I found Dr. Lee and decided to try acupuncture. When I went into the office, my nausea was at an 8. After the needles at certain points, it instantly went down to a 2, then a 0.
