Called a few weeks ago for a massage since the previous ones have been wonderful. I felt a little scammed because they told me to go to a different business for the massage a few blocks away. I didn't really ask questions and I went. Completely different staff - I did not enjoy the massage and I was really disappointed. I guess there is construction on weekends or something but the original location I went to is still open and very much running so I'm pretty upset I was ushered to go to this other massage business a few blocks away. This place is great! Very good service, professional, clean. I have struggled with lower back pain for so long, and when it flares up this is where I come to help with the pain! They do a wide variety of things, what I have found that helps me the most is the cupping. The first time I tried cupping at a different place it was not helpful at all, then I had my physical therapist do it, and it was wonderfully helpful. Since I graduated physical therapy I had been looking for places that had good practitioners to make sure it was effective and this is the place! I'm prefacing this review by saying the massage part of the experience was quite good and the man clearly worked out some knots in my back. I found this place through yelp and google reviews all of which were great. I was interested in trying accupuncture for severe hip pain that Ive had the last couple of months so decided to book 1.5 hour service. On the website it says to come 15 minutes early to discuss with the practitioner what your issues are and they will discuss which forms of treatment would be best. A number of great reviews discussed how incredible Tina was and so I purposefully booked time with Tina vs other names. When I arrived, one of the rooms was open but occupied as a woman was working on another person there for a service. slightly weird I could see someone naked laying on a bed (covered in a sheet). The woman working told me to wait in the seating area. I waited up until my appointment time was supposed to start even though I had arrived early for my discussion and a man came in and handed me a form to fill out. I filled out that I was having severe hip pain and the man ushered me into another room. I assumed Tina was finishing up with the other person in the other room and would be in to talk shortly. Instead the man came in showed me a timer that said 90 minutes and told me turn over. I tried to ask what was going on and if we were going to discuss the treatment plan. He did not speak English, which made me question if he was able to read on my form that I was in for hip pain. Instead of stopping, I felt uncomfortable and turned over (my own fault I guess). He did massage, then started to use a machine on me that was quite uncomfortable, and when I asked what was happening he said "gua sha" and then he went into cupping . I had never had any of these treatments before and I was somewhat nervous. I came in thinking I would have acupuncture done and that never happened. I left with extreme black bruising from the cupping and they are still here. When we finished, I went to leave and he stopped me and was pointing to himself. I explained to him I already prepaid and he seemed confused. I got out my phone to show the prepaid receipt but he kept pointing to himself so then I realized he was referring to a tip which I thought I had already included in my payment. I was flustered and he didn't speak English so I just had him charge my credit card for an additional 20%. All in all, I was disappointed that I didn't have Tina and there was no communication to discuss my issues. I came in for my hip pain and he barely addressed it. read more

I booked a 1 hour & 30 min "Eastern Therapies" appointment & was treated by Tina (massage) & Nancy (acupuncture). They worked simultaneously & treated me with such care, checking in along the entire process to ensure I was feeling what I should feel from the therapies. This is no ordinary massage, be prepared for Tina to apply precise pressure and to be manipulated. AKA it hurts! But as Nancy joked, "no pain, no gain!" After my session ended, they were gracious enough to allow me to relax a bit longer on the table and provided me with a delicious tea while we discussed how I felt & planned for future sessions. I bought a package for FIVE more 1 hour sessions (currently $800), immediately called my fam to gush about how great it was, and can't wait to see them again! read more

The common space is cozy which smells like the herbs (they have the Moxibustion therapy.) The room looks pretty nice and the whole place is playing relaxing music. The front desk is very friendly. It's my first time here and have been wanting to do the moxibustion but can't do it at home. Recommend and will come back again for the moxibustion. I had such a FANTASTIC experience here today, with Tina, who did tui na, cupping and moxibustion and addressed each and every one of my problem areas (I deal with chronic pain in multiple areas of the body) with great care. I'm only in NYC for another day and a half and already booked again for tomorrow- that's how great it was. I do acupuncture weekly in my home city, but haven't found someone who does cupping and moxibustion with such expertise. I feel amazing and know that I'll feel even better in the coming days. Incredible experience! This was honestly the best treatment I've ever had. I've had a lot of massages over the years both across NYC and while traveling - but nothing has come close to how amazing this was. I'd been suffering from some super deep knots that no deep tissue massage had come close to getting rid of. After my Tui Na massage (also had cupping and moxibustion) all the pain I'd been dealing with in my back and shoulders - for years - has completely gone. I feel like a new person! I wish I could give this place more than 5 stars. If you're looking for restorative, healing and noticeable differences to your body and day to day life THIS is the therapy place to go to. I'm a hairstylist and dancer (very active) with severe scoliosis and back problems. Tina has been absolutely amazing for me. I bought one of their pack options for 60 minute sessions, I have already gone a handful of times and I'm prepared to buy more asap to continue feeling this good always. The relief I feel immediately after my sessions and weeks beyond is incredible. I've tried every modern medicine practice in the book to alleviate my body's pain specifically from my spine and help me stay flexible and dancing...I wish I started coming here years ago because this is the answer. If you're looking for a relaxing spa-like massage this is not it. It is legitimate body healing therapies. You may feel discomfort or pain in areas but let me tell you the results are beyond worth it. They cater their services to your specific needs, listen to you in depth and check on you throughout your session.
