I got a flat tire in a random shopping center. The wheel lug nuts were stuck and I had no tools besides the flat tire kit that came with my 2009 Toyota Matrix. For the time being, I was stuck. This gentleman was out with his date, walked by and saw me trying to get the lug nut to budge. He proclaimed that he had some tools and he would like to help me. I said that would be awesome! He brought his tools over, took the tire off, put the spare tire on, and inflated the spare tire to a safe level. I was blown away! As it turns out, his name was Ryan and he worked at a local Les Schwab (10340 SW Canyon Rd, Beaverton, OR 97005). He recommended that we take it to a nearby Les Schwab and they would take care of it. I tried to give him some cash and he turned me down flat. He said he was just helping people out! So we dropped it off at Ryan's Les Schwab that night, and they put two new tires on our car, and gave us an oil change the next morning. Ryan was a super nice guy, and made sure we were taken care of at the Les Schwab. Where do you even begin, asked for specific tire got something different. A word to the wise look at your final bill very carefully for add on's you are not aware of or never approved. Like sipping of tires that already have this done when tire are produced. Was finally given a credit for this, I was offered a free wheel alignment after voicing my concerns to corporate to make things right. After accepting this offer the technician came in when completed said that the tires I bought two weeks prior had about half life left in them. You unfortunately cant make this stuff up! terribly trained technicians and frankly a manager Rob that could care less other than making numbers. Make no mistake this is not the Les Schwab of old not even remotely close. Always read the fine print!!!! read more

Made an appointment for tire rotation, oil change and pre-trip safety check. Asked about the cost at check-in. Employee told me oil change would be about $120 w/synthetic, and tire rotation and trip check would be free. Told them I would wait in the lobby (in their very uncomfortable chairs). After about an hour, technician calls me on my cell (in their lobby) to tell me that the oil change will be $30 more than quoted due to "parts needed". I asked what parts? He said the oil filter! Why wasn't the cost of the oil filter included in the quote to begin with? I say no thanks to the oil change, will take to my regular mechanic who charges $85. Ask about the other services. They didn't do those but say if I can wait another 30 minutes they will do it and confirm these are free services. At check-in out, they charge me $30+ for the tire rotation that they initially told me would be free. Paid because it's not worth arguing about $30, but will never go back here again. Also, the pre-trip safety check came with ZERO information. I was expecting a form or printout with a list of items checked. There was nothing to reference what they checked or what they found. This place is bait and switch with fees, and overall lackluster customer service. read more

Guy who put air in my tire was great. Said I may want to have the tire checked out because it was extremely low. Lady at the front was great, they told me an hour wait. Turned out to be almost 2 and a half hours. That wasn't the only bad part. I saw the kid working on my vehicle and he spent a ton of time on his phone. I've been here for almost 3 hours, and nothing has been done. Les Schwab has gone down hill since they were acquired in 2020. Needed tires, had a free afternoon. Called and asked if they could install a set of tires in one day. They did not ask what vehicle or tire size, or if I had a brand in mind, or check stock, or offer an appointment. Just said they were running three hours. I got there in 20 minutes - no name-brand tires in stock, and 4 hours. Called after 4-1/2 hours, and they were thinking about starting to get ready to begin. Got the car back after closing. Negatives - over-promising on the timing. I want the job done well and it takes how long it takes, just be real with me. - tires 'made by [major brand]' If they're so good, why doesn't [major brand] put their name on them? And - I digress but - if I ever meet a tire shop tech who doesn't have these tires on his own car, I'll buy him a beer. Positives - they did what they said, at quoted cost. - They stayed after closing to finish work in progress, so bonus points for that. Remember when Les Schwab provided good old fashioned customer service? Not anymore. I don't know if it is just this particular shop, but I've had several negative experiences at the Canyon Schwab. When I am looking to spend money on tires and wheels, being treated as if you are an annoyance doesn't make me want to whip out my credit card. I left, went to Discount Tire off of 185th. Not only were they significantly less expensive, but they provided excellent customer service. Discount has now put new Goodyear Endurance on our travel trailer, new tires and wheels on my new truck, and new tires for my vintage truck. They even beat Costco's price for me. Les schwab has been my only tire shop for 40 years, but due to the repeated poor customer service at this particular store, the company lost a customer. read more

worst location ever never come here employees are slow mentally- waited about 10 minutes for my tires to get pumped with air, not a huge deal, dont mind since it was busy... what I do mind is the fact that the works stood around digging in each others asses simutaneously starring at me . It's been years since I have needed to buy tires. The dealership gave me the wonderful news that my tires were pretty much bald. They were the original tires that came with the car so they did had a good run considering I have a 2013 Scion IQ. The downside just keep getting better... the Scion IQ uses an awkward size tire and there is one maker for said exact replacement. These tires cost nearly $1000. I went into Les Schwab nervously knowing anything was better than the 1k. Sure enough, the gent found exactly the issue and explained about the tire being so much but they had some alternatives. We talked about replacing my wheels so that I could use other tires. Even with the new wheels and tires it was several hundred dollars lower. And then he discovered a wheel with just the right measurements to save me replacing the wheels yet being the lowest price. I was really impressed that he worked so hard to get me the best deal. And then they replaced all four wheels in record time! Knowing I have them to go to with any problems and that I can get in and out with no issues at all really helps me also. read more

Had 10 am appointment for new tires and alignment. Arrived on time and spoke to a women who said since I had not picked out the tires. I must wait for the 1 person who can help me with that. A white balding, stocky man who after spending 10 minutes on the phone, spent 20 minutes ignoring me. Appointment time 10 am, left 10:30 am after no help. Guy was on his phone and just chilling ignoring me. When I was younger, the employees would run out to your car to meet you. Now you can sit for 30 minutes past appointment and no one helps you. When I returned to have your technicians address my "concerns," your technician did a song and dance. Your faulty practice required that i replace the components that your "techs" are damaged. If there is no final pre click movement of a torque wrench, then the pre torque is set too high. Torque values are different for different cars. Unless you have your techs learn every car's values, your pretorque must be set at a value lower than the lowest car requires. That so your pretorque values are lower than the manuf specified torque values. BUT YOU ALREADY KNOW THIS but damage customer's cars in the interest of speed. If you do not know this, then you should not have your position. When les Schuab "techs" give the torque wrench the ceremonial final click after reefing on the lug nuts with a pneumatic impact wrench, they know that they are being destructive That explains why I had to get wheel parts replaced after les schuab ruined the wheels on our 96 Impala SS. Oh, and BTW, their "techs" have every wheel torque value memorized for each and every car car. That's why they don't ever need to look at a reference to gleen proper torque values. read more

I've been a satisfied customer of Les Schwab tire centers for 45 years, purchasing many sets of tires at many different locations. I've always felt their customer service was excellent. This store is now the exception, I'll never go back there. Here is why. Last week, at this store I had 4 new tires installed, 4 days later one of the tires only had 16 lbs of air. Probably an installation defect, right? I took my auto back to the store and told the receptionist the problem. The conversation went like this: Receptionist: " Do you need us to check the air" Me: "No, this is a leak, I need it fixed". Receptionist: "Oh. Will you be waiting" Me: "Yes, but I'm in a hurry, I'm taking the car out of town for a few days" Receptionist: "It will be 2 hours." Me: "Two hours? I don't have 2 hours!" Receptionist: blank look. Not a "sorry", "let me see what I can do". It seems to me that given it was probably their problem, and I had told them I was in a hurry, and that I was taking the car out of town for a few days some consideration should have been given to my wait time. It's also not what happened, but how it happened. Throughout the interaction I felt like an inconvenience to the receptionist. There are plenty of other tire stores. Paid $1200 for wheels and dealt with too many inconveniences to list, the biggest being having to ask for my Chevy stock wheels back and them "losing" my stock lug nuts (?). The manager and staff here are incompetent and have no accountability/pride in their work. A month later I took my truck elsewhere for a check and was told they were also not installed properly. Just want to say thank you Les Schwab for continuing to be the big disappointment you've been since Les Schwab passed away. I knew I shouldn't trust them anymore, and yet I still went back to them since they are just down the road from me. Went in for 1 tire replacement. Bought 4 tires less than a year ago, and one of the tires had a nail in just the right spot that affected it, and needed to be replaced. Went in, got a quote, and then the service guy went outside to look at my car. Lo and behold, big shocker, they said I needed 4 new tires. I simply walked out. What a surprise that they wanted to sell me 4 tires! So, thank you for being greedy. Because of this, I was referred to a fabulous tire shop, Uncle Dan's Tire (by Washington Square). I save over $70 by going there instead. Because of you trying to sell me 4 tires, when I didn't need it, I saved lots of money and got great service somewhere else. I stopped in here to buy some tire chains for my car, something I've never had to buy before. I don't think that I would return and I also don't think that I would recommend this location to family and friends. My experience here wasn't entirely satisfactory. I wanted some tire chains but I did not know exactly what I needed for my vehicle. I've never had to use tire chains before so I figured any additional information that they could provide would have been helpful. The thing that really bothered me the most and this happens with some businesses is when they make you feel like you're just in their way. It seemed to me like I was just inconveniencing the guy that I was talking to. I didn't get any additional information and I just felt like I was bothering him. When I raised my concerns with putting a certain style of tire chain on my wheel he just kind of threw his arms up in the air and said well what do you want to do. Really I was hoping that he would help me figure that out or at least give me some information on what my options were but instead it just seemed like you wanted me to make a decision right then and there so that I would stop bothering him. I don't really see any reason to return to this location and I certainly don't see any reason to buy tires for them considering what my experience was like. While I did manage to get my chains I'm still left here wondering if there was a better alternative or maybe an option that would have worked out better than the one that I had purchased. I have been going to this store off and on for years and went in yesterday after finding out my Subaru Outback would need 4 new tires because one had a tear in it's sidewall which was irreparable. Apparently necessary when there is a difference in tread depth of more than 2mm or 3/32nd of an inch, which there was. Failure to replace all 4 tires in that scenario will cause transmission damage. Of course the dealers don't tell you that when you're shopping for a car. Suffice it to say it was a shock to me and my bank account. Ethan (I believe that's his name) was the tech that examined my failed tire, confirmed my worst fears, and proceeded to present options. He was clear, concise, straightforward, and honest. He also took time to answer all my questions. Once I made my decision, the tires were balanced and on in about 45 minutes. Ethan suggested the alignment be checked but that they were short a person in that department and it would be prudent to schedule an appointment. That changed at the time I was paying and was told the one alignment tech - Joe, I believe - would be able to do the check at that time after all. Great! About fifteen minutes later, Joe came up to explain the status of my car's alignment and recommended a correction but first explained the different aspects of an alignment and how they impact tire wear. I appreciated the information and the time he took to articulate it. I can say without equivocation my experience at Les Schwab was excellent end-to-end as were the results. I will be going back when the need arises and highly recommend them. read more

I made an appointment for 11. I showed up about 20ish minutes early cause that's just me. The guy was super friendly and took me right away. Of course he came back the back tires needed replacing and this was his suggestion for a replacement and price. He had it all printed out ready for my approval. It's husband's car so I said need to text real fast to see if OK. I'm pretty sure it's fine and if he doesn't get back to me I'm going to say go. He was totally patient with me trying to get a hold of my husband. They said they didn't have the tires at this store and would take 45 minutes to get from another store and another 30 to put them on. They offered to drive me home. They have a pretty comfy waiting area with coffee, popcorn, vending machine and TVs so I waited. They got done faster than they said. Also I had said I was driving my husband's car and really hated it and not comfortable not familiar with it. They were so sweet and backed it into a spot with nothing in front so I could pull straight out! This is a slightly smaller location than I used to go to but the guys are wayyyy nicer and joke with you. They really did not make me feel like a dumb woman, dumb anything down, or say do you need to get permission from your husband? Yes I've so had this happen. They even made sure to put the tires under my husband's account and not mine (since we are newlyweds and have separate accounts there). I work 12 hour overnights at a hospital in Portland - it was a terribly long shift and I was exhausted. When I got off work and started my car I noticed my tire PSI was very low. I went straight to this location after work for air, arriving about 15 minutes before they opened. I planned to wait until 0800 before anyone would be able to help me, but a gentleman came out BEFORE they opened!!! He had me pull up to the garage door he had just lifted, checked the pressure on all my tires, and filled the ones that needed more. Swung into Les Schwab on Canyon Rd. in Beaverton do to a large screw in my front tire. Customer service person ( didn't get his name ) was quite short, and when the tire was fixed he called my name and said your done, no charge. I proceeded to ask what was found in the tire, and just a couple questions about what was done and received, it was a hole and it was fixed answer, obviously this person needs some customer service training, and if this guy is somehow a manager he definitely should have a refresher course in management and customer service together. This is my first experience with Les Schwab and it will be my last. Lousy customer service experience. read more

Les Schwab has always done right by us no matter our car problems. They have always been affordable too. First it was my crappy tires on an old vehicle I drove that they repaired and eventually replaced. Then it was the battery problem in the same vehicle, and they sat my car down to charge it for hours just to confirm the battery was fine but likely something with my car was the issue and not the battery. They didn't charge me anything for that. By replaced my partner's tires on his vehicle numerous times. They have patched a flat too for free. Today, I found myself in my new car with a flat tire on my way to work. As usual, they were there to save my bacon again. They provided me with new tires, and an alignment that my dealership was supposed to have provided during my tune up 4 days ago. My new car actually drives better than when it left the dealership 4 days ago! And they did this all in less than an hour and a half. My dealership tune up 4 days ago where nothing was allegedly wrong with me car? That was over 2.5 hours long. Their customer service is always so detailed and caring too. The mechanic stopped to see how I felt about the work as I was leaving. I haven't been to any other Les Schwab shops so I only know about this location, but I'm incredibly impressed every time I come here. I'm having to sale a vehicle that I bought brand new on 02/22/2022 Front wheel drive I bought chains from les on canyon rd location .that year . I called Thursday 1/4/24 and asked if I could get a full cash refund on the chains I need to return the chains . Since I'll be selling the car, The man said we would refund on the account or card that you used. I said I have 60 Day account with you not sure if I bought them on the account or if I paid cash. So I brought them in Friday afternoon and the gal at the counter. said we don't take chains back till after April. I explained to her that I called the day before and I'm selling the vehicle. The boxes never been open. She said she'd have to see if they will make an exception. A Gentleman came to the counter. I explained to him that I had called the day before, and at no time did anybody say that I had to wait till April? The guy said we can exchange them for a different size . I said I have your chains already for my pick up. I don't need to exchange, I need to get the cash out out of the chain because I'm selling the vehicle. He said well if you look at your receipt you see that it says that they need to be returned in April. I said again I called yesterday I didn't look at the receipt ...4 different times he mentioned the receipt I said I don't care about the f--king receipt . I called ...I was there ..I had the chains on the counter. I've done a lot of business at that location over 30 years. I felt he should have made an exception . If i had not called and asked. Beware of getting tires at this Les Schwab in Beaverton. Read through the reviews of the past year and you'll find a lot of 1 star reviews for this dealership. I went to this Les Schwab Tire Center today (7/13/23) without reading the reviews because it's just off the freeway, and because I had a tire go flat on the I-5 just south of Portland. I had on the temporary spare tire and needed to get the tire fixed because I was leaving on a road trip the next day. I brought my 2017 Toyota Highlander in hoping it just needed a flat repair. OH NO - after about 10 minutes the service guy comes over to me and says the inside of the tire was shedded and I needed a new tire. But not just 1 new tire, I was going to need all 4 replaced (typical up sell tactic). I said no, I don't want 4 tires, I will buy 2 tires so they match each other on the same axle. The service guy said they couldn't just sell me 2 tires because my tire wear was 3/16ths on the other 3 tires and couldn't do that as it would damage the all-wheel drive system. I asked them to show me the policy in writing. The service guy then went and talked to the manager and he comes over and gives me the same line. After arguing with him for several minutes, I said forget it and I left. I called a Discount Tire Center and they said it is not a problem to put two new tires with two other tires if the other tires have decent tread left. I also called my Toyota Dealership and spoke to someone in the service department and they also said it would be okay and it wouldn't harm the All-Wheel Drive system. I went to the Discount Tire Repair in Tigard, Oregon and the service person was very nice and helpful and he checked my tire and showed me where it was worn and why it couldn't be repaired. He also checked the other 3 tires and they all would you believe it - had 6/32nds of tread left which was more than enough to drive on two of those tires for 4-5 months. My suggestion is to avoid this Les Schwab. Most of the recent reviews are bad, and describe a similar experience. They aren't honest, and they'll try and get you to buy tires you really don't need. My suggestion is to get a second opinion before spending your money at Les Schwab. read more

I have loved and trusted Les Schwab for decades, so of course I took my daughter's just-purchased first car to them for new tires. The actual tire service was great. They set me up with exactly what I needed, and nothing I didn't, as usual. But despite the "masks required" signage on the front door, they did NOTHING to enforce public safety. After I'd been waiting over an hour (I was told 1.5 hrs, since I was a drive-in) a man settled down in the waiting room with his mask pulled down off his nose. I asked him to pull it up and he refused. I let a staff member know (assuming they would address it) and went outside. After 20 minutes it occurred to me they might think I had left, so I went back in to tell them I was waiting out there. The guy was still sitting there. When I pointed him out, staff said "he said he was going to get some water and put it back on." Which he clearly wasn't - he was still just sitting there. The customer had a smug look on his face and was obviously enjoying the power play. I am VERY disappointed in Les Schwab's refusal to enforce the state mandate (and their own stated policies) for the sake of public health. If my car hadn't been already on the rack and nearly done I would have left and taken my business elsewhere. I just realized my own car is due for a new set of four. Can anyone recommend a place where they care enough to keep their customers safe? EDIT: Some people don't seem to understand how masks work. They are to stop the spread (moist droplets you exhale contain the virus and are larger than the weave openings on proper masks) more than to protect the wearer. You wear one to protect everyone else in the room. It's not about being "scared" - it's about following the science and being a responsible citizen. read more

I bought snow tires from them and was getting my snow tires changed out to my regular tires about 3 months ago. They called me and told me that my old tires needed to be replaced and that my rear brake pads were low and should also be replaced. My car has low mileage. I agreed to new tires, but declined break pad replacement because I knew the dealer was less expensive. Today I got my oil changed at the dealer and asked them to look at my brake pads. They told me I did not have to replace them and that they still will be good for quite a while. They asked me who told me my brake pads needed replacement and I told them Les Schwab on Canyon. He said he's heard similar things from others. I am questioning if I even needed new tires. I will not go back to this business. read more

After a "thorough inspection", the clerk said I had 1/32nd of an inch of tread on 2 tires and should replace them before I left. I said NO. The service specialist at Les Schwab, Derek, looked through my records, printed them out and then we went to look at the tires. He said, 'You have 3000 - 5000K more miles on these tires. You're good. Unlike the other company, Les Schwab has always been on my side and go out of their way to make it right. Thank you. I brought my rental car here since I work all hours that the rental car company is open. Turns out there was a screw in the tire. I was worried I would have to spend a small fortune to repair the tire at my expense for the rental car company just so I could reliably be to work on time the next day. The employees were so friendly and took care of the screw for me! I came in just a little bit before closing and they brought the car in and fixed up the tire anyways. I couldn't ask for better service! They treated me the way you hope for in these types of situations.
