Here's the backstory: I was driving home from work when my TPMS warning popped up saying my rear passenger tire was low. I pulled into a gas station to air it up, but it was losing pressure fast and wouldn't hold air. Since I drive an EV and don't have a spare tire, I knew I was in trouble if I didn't get it fixed immediately. Luckily, I remembered there was a Discount Tire just a few miles away. I was racing the clock because they close at 6 pm, but I made it there with about five minutes to spare. The moment I pulled in, a young gentleman named Ingmar saw the worried look on my face and immediately reassured me that they'd take care of me and get me in and out quickly. He grabbed a flashlight, checked the tire, confirmed it wasn't holding air, and got straight to work. What impressed me most was how far he went to help -- even though I wasn't in a bay and they were about to close. Ingmar looped in his manager, brought out a jack, jacked up my car right there at the air check station, removed the tire, did the dunk test, and found the culprit: a tiny staple. He patched the tire on the spot, inspected my other tires, and gave me helpful recommendations without any pressure. I was honestly blown away. He dropped what he was doing to help a stressed-out customer at closing time, and he did it with professionalism and kindness. I made sure to shake his hand, thank him, and get his name. This was hands-down some of the best service I've ever received at a tire shop. Extremely professional, reasonably timely for a walk-in despite being very busy, impressively competent - they had me safely back on the road without charge and with a happily adjusted outlook on humanity. This is the way a business should be run. Angel welcomed me with courtesy and efficiency. I had purchased tires here before, but not the set I'm currently running. When he informed me they price match, it was music to my ears. He inspected my tire to make sure it was repairable. I felt comfortable entrusting him with my keys and wheel lock. Get there before opening if you can, because it backs up quick and you will be waiting! I previously had a reliable mechanic/shop but have recently had to venture out and figure out my own tire replacements. Their online system is pretty easy and gives you visibility to what's available and pricing is pretty good. The truck unfortunately had now arrived with the tires I originally ordered but they had on hand inventory and quickly let me upgrade since I wanted to be out of there. I was one of the first in, and still waited about 1+ hour for my tires to be replaced (granted I had two). I couldn't imagine coming in after and how much longer I would need to wait. They've scratched my rims, never set the tire pressure correctly (I always leave with warning lights on), and this time didn't even bother putting the valve caps back on. Best prices ~ with a little price checking & negotiation, purchased a full warranty package. The tire warranty has paid itself off. Yes, they beat Costco and usually have more tire choices. Purchased a set (4) of Michelin's for my Honda CR-V. Prices were the same as Costco without the wait. Had a 10:15 am appt and was back home before 11am. Took a book to read while waiting and barely had time to even read a page, that's how fast they were. Best advice: if you're worried about having to wait too long, make your appt for an off-time during the week. The female sales person told me the best times over the phone before I made my appt. She was definitely right. Discount Tire specializes in new rims and tires, as well as wheel and tire installation, repair, rotation, balancing, and also does annual winter tire changes. They offer a free air pressure check too. Walk-ins are welcome or you can schedule an appointment in advance. They have six service bays and you can watch your vehicle being worked on from the waiting area in the showroom. Excellent customer service and friendly folks to deal with. Free Wi-Fi also. I've been going to Discount Tire in east Gresham for years and have been very pleased. Recently, my son took his 2017 Subaru Crosstrek to Discount Tire in Tigard and he had a bad experience. I am a mechanic and recently changed his brakes and rotors. I loosened his lugnuts with a star wrench by hand and put them back on the same way. When my son got his new tires installed today, they told him he needed all new lugnuts (they said they were corroded). They had him purchase a new set of lugnuts for each wheel for $50. When he paid and was about to leave, they told him he had a broken wheel stud and needed to get it replaced. They kept his old lugnuts and one of the new lugnuts. He left with the left front tire missing one lugnut and the wheel stud bolt. Since they don't do brakes or other repairs, he will need to take his car to Les Schwab to get the wheel stud replaced. Because I just did his brakes and rotors, I know his wheel lugs were perfectly fine? Some idiot there probably threaded a lugnut on the wheel stud incorrectly and then hit it with the air impact wrench, snapping it off. I do not recommend this location and will probably not go back to Discount Tire ever again based on his poor experience today and their poor response to breaking off his wheel stud. :( read more

Sheepishly reversed the charge, but require you to waste your time by coming back to prevent fraud, which they already committed by adding an unauthorized charge. Made an appointment for 11:00am. Got to store 20 minutes early, they processed me quickly, and waited. And waited. And waited while other customers came through the door and were serviced before my vehicle was even moved from the parking lot. After 45 minutes, I went up and asked why nothing had been started. Just needed balancing of tires .... Answer was some excuse about an issue with the team that was assigned to this work. At that point, my vehicle was then assigned to their "fast" team, and then they went to work. Took about 10 minutes to complete. If there's one thing that ticks me off is making an appointment and waiting that long for service. Staff should have kept me updated on status, but better yet, started work on my vehicle BEFORE other walk-ins Will be looking for another tire shop in the future. read more

I had an incredibly disappointing experience at this location. * 6-hour wait time: I checked in at 1 PM and didn't leave until 7 PM, even though the shop closes at 6 PM. My car wasn't brought into the bay until 6:30 PM. I understand it's a busy time before the holidays and the rainy weather may have caused delays, but this level of inefficiency is unacceptable. * Damaged my wheels: They scratched my wheels during the service there are multiple long and obvious scratch marks. Luckily, I had photos of the wheels taken before and after, which clearly show the damage. * Improper tire inflation: Three of my tires were inflated to ~40 PSI, and one was at 55 PSI, even though my tires are rated for 36 PSI and should be accordingly to owners manual and weather. * Neglected details: They didn't even put my original air pressure cap back on one of the tires that I had bought separately. * Poor communication: When they handed me my keys, they simply said, "Have a good night." They didn't explain what services were performed or provide any recommendations for care and maintenance of the new wheels. I was shocked that it took that long, I would have like some sort of brief summary report of the service. Additionally, I called ahead to get a quote for specific tires, only to come into the store and find the price was higher than what was quoted over the phone. The service person didn't initially clarify that the higher price was due to the tire warranty being added. I had to ask why the price was different, and only then did they explain extra for the warranty. This lack of transparency felt misleading and frustrating. On top of these issues, I noticed their shady practice of lifting cars outside the garage in the parking lot to work on them. This doesn't feel professional or safe. The parking situation is also a complete mess--the lot is too small for the volume of cars, making it difficult to park or navigate safely. While the staff seemed to be constantly working, the overall quality of service, organization, and communication was abysmal. I cannot recommend this location, and I'm leaving this review in hopes that they improve their processes and customer care. I am very dissatisfy and upset with their quality, damage to my wheel, now I am wondering if it was properly balanced. I am honestly afraid of going back there to be service and be made to wait another half of my day there. But it was a good thing. The kids working in the shop were yelling at each other over blaring rock and roll, laughing, throwing rags around. I wouldn't let these kids put tires on my car. 20 Year customer - perhaps 10 vehicles and dozens of tires. Service has plunged. Took my 2022 Audi SQ5 and a set of $3K forged Vossen wheels. Bought Michelins and asked that adhesive from old tape weights be removed, and to be VERY CAREFUL with the wheels. Here's what I received: None of the adhesive was removed. The wheels were scratched during tire mounting, and mounting to the vehicle. My leather steering wheel was scratched - how, I can't even imagine. And now, the wheel weights have come off. Tried twice to reach a manager by phone (today was the last) - no call-back. The whole thing is almost unbelievable. Done trying to resolve. Taking repair work and future business elsewhere. Horrible, terrible, scam company who damages your car and refuses to take responsibility for it. Had 10 am appointment for new tires. I was impressed they got 5 tires done in under an hour. I was not impressed when I was washing my car and see my front right tire is missing a lug nut and the wheel stud had been sheared off. After many phone calls to discount tire, they finally admit yes they caused the damage, but they somehow claim not their fault and they won't pay for damages they caused, but hey they gave me a cheap ass, double size lug nut to replace the factor OEM $13 lug nut they broke. Now I will miss work to get my car fixed out of pocket. They are called discount tire for a reason. Go anywhere else, they hand you back your car with less lug nuts and studs and don't bother to tell you. Probably hoping you will not notice the damage they caused. Manager Tony will destroy your car to make a sale, endanger your life and think he knows better then HONDA who spent hundreds of millions designing the car,, but no big fucking tony knows better. Whatever it takes to make the sale, fuck customer safety just approves shearing off studs and lugs nuts and not bothering to tell the customer. read more

Really poor experience here. I went in yesterday, around 10 am, to get two tires put on. Paid for the tires/services, and was quoted 2-2.5hr wait time. Knowing I was a walk-in, and that appointments are prioritized, I acknowledged that and waited. After 3hrs waiting I came back, asked for a time estimate, and was told that I'm the next up and would 100% be out within 45 mins. Waited patiently, another hour passes and the attendant comes back saying it will be another 2-3 more hours wait. Why? My entire day was wasted here due to their miscommunication. I had to take the car due to having an obligation at 4pm and since they're closed on Sunday they told me to come back on Monday. Had they told me at 10am that it wasn't looking good for today, I wouldn't have wasted my time. During the entire experience I was quoted anywhere from 1-4hrs, which varied depending on the person I spoke with. As of today (Sunday) I'm out $300 and still no tires. Will go back tomorrow but only because I've already paid (they refused to refund) and I need the tires on. Otherwise I would have went somewhere else. read more
