Our adopted son was stranded on the side of I-5 outside of Eugene. He blew a tire. He didn't have the means to get help. We contacted our local Les Schwab in Lakeview, Oregon. Our local manager Kerry Rucker was able to contact the local manager at this store, Kevin Johnson, who went out of his way to get him back on the road and mobile again. What happened here? The new manager has run this place into the ground! All the good employees are gone. When you go in it's clear the new management doesn't care, customer service has gone from the old Les Schwab way to sometimes you walk in and don't even see a soul running the counter, the new help doesn't seem to know what they are doing. Bay's are empty, not sure where the employees are at? Is this store getting close or something? This place used to be really dialed in, but I won't be going back. Around town a lot of buzz about how this place had turned around in the last few years and all the sudden it's going downhill again. read more

Just made it here after nursing a leaky tire while camping. Thankfully they were open on a Sunday and helped us out in under 30 minutes.

Fast, fantastic service! I was traveling north when I stopped for gas in Lakeview and noticed one of my tires had lost a lot of air since my last stop. The gas station had no air, but recommended i pop into Les Schwab for some. I pulled into the parking lot, and was immediately approached by a helpful service professional. He asked what had happened and offered to put my vehicle on the hoist, pull off the tire and check it for slow leaks. The tire was removed, and it turns out I'd driven over a small piece of metal that had created a slow leak. Within 15 minutes the tire was off, the problem ascertained, and fixed. I highly recommend their service as everyone at the location was professional, courteous, knowledgeable and friendly. They insisted I take some coffee for the rest of my drive, and wished me well. Great service and excellent prices, got two brand new tires here and saved $100 easily from California prices. Also got a trailer tire put on a rim which they special ordered and we also saved half the price on the rim. Service was excellent establishment was very clean, would go there again! read more

My wife stopped in to get 2 new Tires on the Subaru before heading back to Portland. She was told it is against the law for them to only sold two tires on all-wheel-drive vehicle. Yet when she asked which law they were unable Produce the law or even Reference the law Because there is no such law. Fortunately she did not buy her tires there I would recommend that you don't either. read more

I recently had an emergency flat repair done on my vehicle. The Les Schwab employee that came to do the repair had to remove my tire from the wheel to repair it. He was a very friendly and helpful guy and I was thankful he responded. However, without warning of potential damage he used a hammer to get the tire off. In the process he hit my wheel hard with the hammer twice. This took large chunks out of the lip of the wheel and cracked the wheel. He repaired the flat but I had my tires replaced a month later and the shop told me that my wheel was cracked so bad that it was too dangerous to go without replacement. I contacted the Lakeview Les Schwab which was the shop that responded to my roadside assistance call to tell them about the damage they caused. I sent pictures and explained that both me and my passenger watched him hit the wheel with the hammer and the store manager told me that the damage was from running over something! I watched the guy hit the wheel with a hammer twice...Hard!!! The store manager said the damage wasn't from a hammer. Both me and my passenger watched it happen! We even discussed it after but I didn't want to make a big deal about it because he helped me and I thought at the time it was cosmetic damage. I had to pay for after hour charges for the assistance AND buy new wheels because the ones I have are not available and Les Schwab denies being responsible. If Les Schwab thinks they can take advantage or over charge they will. I also ordered four new springs for a vehicle I owned once and they charged me for four but only installed two. They said the other two looked fine. But they still charged for four! Buyer beware. I stopped using Les Schwab about 10 years ago due to the terrible customer service but I was in a jam in Southern Oregon so I called them but this experience reaffirmed why they have lost my business. Before I found out about the cracked wheel and they refused to help me out I was actually considering using them again. In my experience the customer service is rude, they deny accountability when they mess up, and they will over charge if they think they can get away with it. There are better tire stores out there that actually care about keeping your business. Every time I think maybe I should try them again, I have another bad experience. I will not return. read more

The guys in Lakeview were prompt, courteous, and didn't try to oversell. The store and waiting area was clean and comfortable. They were resourceful enough to divert a tardy customers tire to replace mine, destroyed by the local gravel roads. It was nearly a perfect match to my 3 remaining tires. In a similar pinch, I'd go here again. Lakeview is a credit to the brand. But I'm not a fan of the brand. I don't normally use Les Schwab (on line, independent mount and balance) except as a shopping comparison. The Moscow store sent my wife home dragging a rear wheel after a botched brake job and I haven't been back since. As expected, in Lakeview I paid nearly double the on-line price...and in this case was glad to do so. I was far from home and the ability to use online resources, Lakeview is pretty isolated, and my choices were limited to 2 tire shops. As it was, 2 more tires developed slow leaks (New, better brand, but this area kills 4-ply tires). Had I needed a service call it would have likely been $600 to $800 not including the tire. Glad these guys were around, and wish the chain had a better pricing model to be more competitive (I would happily waive the warranty, and can do so with my on-line purchases). But still not going back to storefront retail for my routine tire purchases. And yes, even with this setback, I'm thousands ahead on my small collection. Next trip will be on at least 6 ply rated tires. read more
