I had kids and started a business and took about 15 years off of golf. Like everyone else, I got back into golf during the pandemic. I felt like I was starting over. After a few months of scores over 100 I decided to seek out golf lessons. Steve came highly recommended by a friend. I had watched every youtube video on the web about getting rid of my slice and gave each tip an honest try. Steve taught me to focus on being relaxed and keeping a nice tempo. He also showed me how completing the rotation of my shoulders in my follow through automatically squared up my clubface at impact. In my 2nd lesson I was able to hit some of my iron shots pure. By my third lesson they were going longer and my swing felt so smooth and effortless. I started regularly shooting rounds in the low 90's on the hardest courses in the area. By lesson 6 I started to be able to regularly hit a draw on my driver with a slight inside out path, keeping my balance, and getting that club face closed with my shoulders on the follow through. I have now had 8 lessons and I am shooting in the high 80's on hard courses pretty regularly. Now pretty much every time I am out someone stops me and tells me how great and effortless my swing looks. I am hitting more fairways, more greens, and my short game lessons have improved my putting and my chipping. I am now making almost everything from 6 feet in, and have significantly improved my longer putts. I still have good days and bad days, but my bad days are better than my good days were before my lessons. Lastly, Steve is the best deal in town from a bang for your buck stand point. I paid $150 for a 4 lesson package which comes out to only $37.50 per lesson. You can't find a better deal.

Coach Kelly was highly recommended by many of my friends. Consistently, they described him as chill, laid back and a great teacher. My wife and I booked a private session with him. We met at his house and he has an indoor golf simulator. On session one, we worked on grip, hip rotation and hinge. On session two (3 weeks later), Coach Kelly worked with our rotation, power shift in the hips and our follow through on the swing. From this point on, we will take individual lessons with him. We've incorporated everything he taught us and are making micro improvements as we continue our golf journey. Scheduling was simple. Prices very reasonable. And that man is Hawaiian! When she first came to him the summer leading up to her junior year, she didn't even know how to properly hold a golf club. By the end of her senior year she was captain, made it to BVAL as a solo player and fell in love with the sport. Coach Kelly was so patient with her, encouraged her and because of his knowledge and teaching style allowed her to grow so much in such a short time. With that in mind, I though that this place would be more receptive to recreational gymnasts. But when I told the person at the front desk that I signed her up that way, she seemed off-put by the idea and talked to me and treated us in a way that may have well of been a hate crime. I allowed for that, assuming that maybe that woman had an off night. Then I went in and the instructor was inconsiderate of my 6-year-old daughter amongst the youngsters, impatient that she wasn't up to speed with some of the more advanced kids. My daughter ultimately stopped herself in her tracks 20 minutes into her four-week course in tears and we took her out of the class and didn't bring her back any other times. This organization should be punished for the way they treat kids trying to learn. I wish I could punish them in the wallet so they could suffer because I know this review won't do enough. At the very least, I wish I could have my money back for the class that I spent on for nothing. This place has a INFINITE NEGATIVE score for their awful service and shouldn't be in business now or ever. Shame on them all. To work with kids, they should have more patience and consideration. For the party we had 2 dedicated instructors that led the kids through various activities - trampoline, rock wall climbing, balance beam, floor games, obstacle and course and at the end a huge blow up that the kids go through a few times. All the kids were interested in the activities and had a blast doing them. The people from the venue to help were very nice and super accommodating. The venue room is great for smaller sized parties as the space is limited, it does get warm in the summer so be prepared. Overall I was very happy and impressed with our experience.

What I did find was an adult hip hop dance class. It fit perfectly with my work schedule, so I took the plunge and signed up! This class has been such a wonderful gift in my life. Maddie is a brilliantly creative choreographer, a gifted dancer, and a very patient and upbeat teacher (at 25 years old!). The routines are a blast to learn, and every single class is so fun!! Sadly, they're coming to a close for the summer, but will resume in the fall. I'll be counting the days!! Lana is so kind, and she is often at the studio late at night working hard (cleaning, sorting costumes, etc). We are so lucky to have this wonderful dance studio in our town!!

She is currently in the 5-8 yo hip hop class with Savanna and 5-8 yo ballet class with Janell, and again....she absolutely LOVES it. All the teachers are really nice, welcoming, and skilled, which gives all the students the opportunity to fully enhance and develop with each concentration of dance offered. Studio Three offers tap, hip hop, ballet, lyrical, jazz and ballroom dance for both kids and adults. There are two dance floors and a newly renovated area for the dancers, fully equipped with cubbies for their bags, and an area for dancers to do their homework if they have long days at the studio. My daughter has only been here for a year, but I have to say that she looks forward to dance class every single week. Traci, Studio Three's owner, is such an awesome person....very approachable and very down to earth, and is always looking out for the students' and parents' best interest. Class fees are also very reasonable! Looking forward to many more years with Studio Three!

It felt intuitive, invigorating, more exciting than any sport I've tried in a long time. Urging my indefatigable pony, Nala, onwards to score our first goal felt as if I had found myself on a ferocious, beige little Pegasus. I already signed up for Polo Academy this spring! So stoked. Long overdue post on my new favorite hobby at my absolute favorite place, South Bay Polo! I started…read moreout super cautious and being absolutely TERRIFIED of hitting my horse instead of the ball. Fran was patient with me and very understanding and so was everyone else at the club! Polo is usually considered a sport with a very high barrier to entry: typically most people think you need to be an avid equestrian, you need to be super athletic, you need to be crazy rich, you need to own multiple horses, and thats definitely not the case. South Bay is an incredibly welcoming, safe place to learn how to play polo. Fran has an excellent program called "Academy" where you'll be placed in a group of your peers who are also new to polo and you all learn the basics at a comfortable, stress free pace. No one is ever pushed to go faster than they are comfortable going and emphasis is placed on accuracy with the ball and safety ALWAYS safety first! Some people may think of polo and think SPEED but...as one of the pros say "theres absolutely no point in being the fastest to get to the ball if you don't know what to do with it once you get there!" Club members are absolutely wonderful and kind, always super patient with all my questions and super eager to help out. Some of the members are really all-stars competing in tournaments at levels I could only dream of, but when you surround yourself with players at that level they help you improve simply by watching them and interacting and practicing around them! You can always try out a private lesson first to see if polo is for you- it is very different from any other style of riding Ive ever done, the reins are held in your left hand and mallet with the right hand. But I promise you, the second you hear that perfect THWACK sound when you have your first connection with the ball you'll be addicted to it! (for the record I whiffed the ball maybe 10-20 times before ever actually getting a solid hit lol) I still have a very long way to go in my polo journey and I am super excited to have found a place that nurtures my growth!
