The only employee I'm reviewing is Stephanie McKenzie. Our experience is hopefully not the…read moreexperience of others. My husbands ex wife has drug her feet in refinancing the home he gave her in their divorce settlement. Two years later we sought legal intervention to force the issue. One day, out of the blue, we get a call for him to sign title documents for the home from Placer Title. We'd just purchased a house recently so my husband assumed that's what it was for. When he realized it was for the house with his ex, he requested the documents be reviewed by our attorney prior to signing anything. Nothing in the documents sent indicated there was a refinance of the loan he was still on to remove his name - only documents removing him from the deed. He ended up missing the first appointment to sign for a couple of reasons, one being because we were waiting for direction from our attorney. The second appointment he canceled until we had proof of the refinance. Stephanie called his ex wife (her client) and indicated he was refusing to sign. This was not the case. Then began a nasty text from his wife threatening us with loan extension fees and not looking good in court if we didn't sign within the next 24 hours. Stephanie admonished us, saying it would've been "prudent" to contact our attorney prior to scheduling the first appointment to prevent any delays. We had no idea his ex was even working on a refi and it had been only 4 days since the first call from the title company. Stephanie went on to make a comments about the documents being pretty simple and straightforward blah blah blah. I explained to her that I don't do real estate for a living and while it may be routine for her, we wanted to make sure we were protected so that he wasn't still financially responsible to a property that he was about to sign away the deed on. Stephanie was condescending towards me, but did apologize at one point for indicating my husband was refusing to sign. And when I confronted her about the loan extension fees not being our responsibility, she never admitted they weren't. #shady
