This place is worth avoiding. It was a truly grim experience and one of the worst food experiences that I can remember. The cappuccinos were poor tasting and the rhubarb tart was truly awful.
If you are a budding entrepreneur, interested in the food sector part of hospitality go here to see what you mustn't do; just order a cappuccino and a piece of rhubarb tart and see for yourself.
The up front bill for these two miserably small, poor tasting, cappuccinos and one piece of stodgy, tasteless tart (without cream) came to a tad under £10 so the prices are indefensibly premium. I wouldn't pay £3 for the entire tart. Come to think of it I wouldn't pay a penny for the tart.
So not only is the coffee and tart awful it's a complete rip-off here to boot. The rhubarb tart pastry was undercooked and had an aftertaste of cheap margarine and the tinned rhubarb itself was hard, cold and grim.
I didn't think it was possible to turn raw ingredients - even tinned stuff - into rubbish. It takes real skill to make these ingredients into something this bad and an even greater deal of temerity to serve it up and charge a lot of money for it.
I've now written hundreds of reviews. I rarely give just one star. If I could give this place zero I would. The most I can do is warn others that this is a terrible place.
The toilet has only one tap - cold water - to wash and the freezing water stops as you lift your hand off the button which defeats the purpose somewhat.
The staff were friendly but no amount of pleasant would see me return. read more
