Spent 10k on a pool 2 years ago with the starlight jet package that the jets have corroded and they offer a one year warranty and he couldn't even try to make any effort to work something out with us, 300 a piece for the jets ( we have 2) a new package is 699. Overpriced, nice workers, terrible business owner. I bought there to keep the money local. I won't be making that mistake again. So, shop around for pool and products.

Carolina Poolscapes provided me with the best value-to-cost quote, the highest-quality communication, and the friendliest customer service of any of the dozen or so pool companies I contacted in the Raleigh area. Every other company I spoke with was more interested in how much I'd be willing to pay for their services while acting like they were doing me a favor by even talking with me. If you want to be treated like a friend or family member, go with Carolina Poolscapes. Steve and Jean were the only ones who were actually invested in the outcome for myself, my wife, and our toddler. I know Yelp only goes up to five stars, but they deserve 10/10!

Note: Carolina Poolscapes issued a response to our rating…read morewhich bears little resemblance to the facts. First, we did not use Yelp to select Carolina Poolscapes. Yelp contacted us after we terminated Carolina Poolscapes contract. Carolina Poolscapes acts like they were unaware we were dissatisfied. We communicated this to one of the partners on several occasions. We have emails, text messages, photos/videos, security camera footage, and feedback from other contractors who repaired and completed the work of Carolina Poolscapes that confirms the rating we gave. The evidence shows Carolina Poolscapes did extensive damage to our lawn, landscaping, and irrigation, failed to repair them properly, left construction and personal debris strewn about (some of which they never removed), and we later discovered the pool work they did do was unsatisfactory. Our new contractor identified 4 new significant pool plaster delamination spots that Carolina Poolscapes missed, cut out cracks they failed to address, and installed 22 staples to the pool shell. Carolina Poolscapes told us no staples were necessary. We sincerely wish Carolina Poolscapes could witness the firms who repaired their work and completed the project. If they could, Carolina Poolscapes would understand the importance of showing up on time, working a full day, exercising care, doing things correctly, worksite cleanliness, having the necessary serviceable equipment and tools, positive teamwork, listening skills, and not constantly badgering the client for more money and invoicing progress payments before the work is complete. As for the bluestone work, it was done by a subcontractor and now Carolina Poolscapes wants to take credit. Finally, the contractor's partners did not get along, creating friction on the work site, and contributing to unnecessary project delays. We asked for two small changes that added 1-2 days. Weather may have delayed work by 4-5 days, but that is due to the work stretching to nearly 12 weeks (for a "4 week" project). Unlike Carolina Poolscapes, the new contractors issued warranties for their work. As for hiring one of their subcontractors, Carolina Poolscapes repeatedly failed to repair the irrigation system. We considered hiring one of their part-time subcontractors with irrigation skills to do the repair, but Carolina Poolscapes complained, ..., thereby costing the subcontractor income. Further misrepresentations by Carolina Poolscapes on this website or further interference with our contractors under false pretenses (Why did one of the partners call one of our new contractors representing himself as the contractor on our project after we terminated Carolina Poolscapes' contract?) will be viewed negatively and do nothing to change the facts on the ground.

Based on the damage I personally saw, there were wood chips and an indentation on the locker door that made it appear it may have been forced open with a crowbar or similar tool. Previous reviews have also reported vehicles being broken into in the parking lot, making the overall security situation even more alarming. What is even more frustrating is the lack of communication and accountability. The situation was handled very poorly. Emails go unanswered, and corporate has been extremely difficult to reach or get any meaningful response from. After an incident involving so many members, I expected much better communication and support instead of feeling like everyone was left to figure things out on their own. Members should be able to work out without worrying about having their cash or valuables stolen in broad daylight. This facility needs stronger security measures, better monitoring of the locker rooms and parking areas, and more visible security personnel. If security is not improved and management does not start taking these incidents seriously, I will no longer be a member. It is unacceptable to allow members to be repeatedly robbed while their concerns are ignored

Companies of all different sizes, and although each was independently unique, the same stipulations applied, pool /spa installs were at least 12 months out and getting someone to sit down for a consult was around a month out. It was becoming very frustrating. We stumbled across Backyard Leisure and decided to give them a try. Don't judge the company by the area in which their Raleigh office is located, these guys are legit. Aaron Garner actually sat down with us on the spot and provided us with the information we were seeking. He answered all of our questions and provided us with much needed insight to help us plan our next move. On top of all that, the anticipated install was less than 12 months out. Aaron clearly knew what he was talking about and also helped us realize the best approach to our inground spa needs. Our pool install came first, Aaron was there throughout the entire process; he was more of a partner than a salesman and still is. They have some true talent working for them and with Alberto leading the pool install, he gained my trust and confidence within an hour of him being onsite the entire. He is an expert in his field. Our spa install came in second and again Aaron was there to ensure a smooth install. The highly skilled install team handled everything, they are extremely professional! They went out of their way to assess the work already by the very subpar concrete company and rectified immediate concerns. And a dog toy that was my dog's favorite which just happened to be offered as a jumbo version of itself. It's just so crowded and things are stuffed on the shelf everywhere. Cheaper versions of items you would find at higher and stores are often broken or marked down, scattered in with super expensive Italian leather bowls, and topped off with accent chairs that are $600. It's simply chaos and all over the place. I might pass on an offer to visit the store again. A redeeming quality was the checkout cashier was super friendly and ready to help me when one of my items was not charge correctly.

A special shout out to Vitaly for doing the meticulous tile work and majority of painting/plumbing. We decided to have our driveway extended to the side of our garage with a pad for parking and extra vehicle. Got quotes from multiple contractors and Steve had the best price. Not only that, he was the friendliest and very responsive. The project was delayed a bit due to our own vacation plans and a communication oversight when the crew showed up the first time for the project (they didn't realize they had to demolish an old sidewalk and didn't have access to their dumptruck that day). No problem for us since we agreed up-front that we were flexible on the timing of the work and Steve could fit us in when he had room between larger projects. Steve was always responsive throughout the entire process and would email back within 1 day and text back immediately, whenever I reached out with questions or comments. The crew was very friendly, efficient, and did a great job (see the pics). They had to demolish a sidewalk, do some leveling to slope the driveway (slightly) to the back corner for drainage, move a sprinkler head, removed a medium-sized holly, pour the concrete, and the job site was left clean when finished. A good experience and we are very happy with the finished product. (it has rained multiple times and we have confirmed that the drainage flow is good, which was our biggest concern) Positives: Very friendly, great communication, competitive pricing, excellent work.
