We had two very successful moves with this company - they were the epitome of professionalism, care of our property, etc. Unfortunately, our third move was a disaster. At the last minute we were informed that the owner's brother would be packing and moving us. It was a horrific experience - movers smoking cigarettes and other substance in front of our children, arriving hours late each day, damaging several thousands of dollars of property, and hiding it. Employees "transported" many of our items in their personal vehicles which we never saw again - minimally hundreds of dollars of property missing. They were all very pleasant, but they just dumped our property randomly... the unpack and moving of items was incredibly difficult with horrible labeling, etc. we still tipped the employees $400 for their efforts, not realizing the extent of the damage and missing items till after the fact. read more

one of the movers were smoking cigarettes and trying on our belongings after moving it in the truck and on top of that he was falling down while carrying our boxes and they try to charge us a 3 man team when we asked for 2 and it's because the other guy is older and didn't want to do too much. After calling many sketchy moving van line companies (and almost being scammed by one), I was prepared to simply rent a UHaul and do our move from Phoenix to Denver by ourselves... Why aren't all movers like Let's Help Movers? Seriously. I rescheduled with them three times because of personal scheduling conflicts. Not ONCE did Sylvester (the owner) say "Really, Russell?" He's INCREDIBLY customer centric and the level of service ownership really shows. Despite doing so much heavy lifting, you will be surprised at how calm he sounds when he speaks to you, either in person or even just over the phone. We finally committed to a move date of 6/6/2017 Tuesday from North Phoenix borderline Scottsdale to central Phoenix. It was a packed-as-hell 2 bedroom apartment. With last minute packing that Sylvester, Keisha, Kevin, and Earl went way out of the way to accommodate with not only packing things in an orderly fashion, but insisting on highest standards with proper labeling and ensuring fragile stuff was packed with a variety of packing material, either one of those cool poofy popcorn looking material things I used to play with as a kid, or hefty-hefty-hefty-HEFTY plastic wrap to make sure stuff like glass wouldn't shatter during loading, transport, or unloading. So, one thing I must educate Yelpers about on this review: Moving is a multi-phase process. There's scheduling, there's packing (optional disassembly of furniture), there's loading, there's transport, there's unloading (optional re-assembly of furniture), and finally settling into your new home. LHM allows the customer to select what moving package based on what your needs are. Again, they're incredibly customer centric, which shows in how well they've got moving down to a science. Check out their website sometime to see all their service offerings (can't provide link in review since Yelp doesn't allow it, but just go to the main Yelp page for LHM to see the website link). ANYWAY: -You want to do the packing yourself and just have LHM load/transport/unload? Great! -You want to be completely hands off and have LHM take ownership on literally every phase of the move experience? Great! -You started some packing and then realize you don't want to do the rest, so you call up LHM for a last minute change to the "full service experience"? Great! (heh, this was me) Our full service experience went smooth sailing with literally zero hiccups. LHM simplified the transport experience by ensuring two trucks were present instead of one (again we had LOTS of stuff unusual for a 2 bedroom) and twice the dollies one would expect moving from one apartment to another. Overall experience took very few hours. Furniture was quickly re-assembled on-site at the new apartment. I have no idea how Kevin does it. Me, I'd have to look at a manual or build sheet to know how to rebuild a table or chairs, yet Kevin did that basically from memory within MINUTES. Furniture was placed where they should go. Sylvester and Earl checked in with me many times before they left to ensure I was 100% satisfied with the move. I am! One thing to note, whenever using movers, always (1) TIP THEM (2) BUY THEM LUNCH (3) REVIEW THEM ON SOCIAL MEDIA. I cannot stress these three things enough. You are paying for a service, and so long as you live in America, if you can afford movers (and LHM does it for a reasonable rate), then you can afford tipping/lunch/writing a review. This applies to whether you use LHM or not. You are trusting them to do a damn good job moving your stuff, whether expensive, fragile, sentimental, if they do a good job, own up to it as a client and do the right thing. We're in the 21st century, so if you don't want to drive to get lunch for the crew, that's ok, just use UberEats, Yelp24, PostMates or SOMETHING to get the crew some grub. I feel bad but this was a terrible cross country move. They broke so many of my things: broke my brand new leather sectional not only in one place but in two, returned my beautiful wood armoire with a huge chunk of wood missing from it, cracks and missing handles, chipped my grandmother's marble table top, chips and dents and gashes in several other pieces of furniture. So extremely disappointed because they are fellow Chicagoans and that's why I gave them the business. Sylvester was so nice at our first visit and won me over but then it was downhill from there. Ray, Kevin, and Chris are fantastic, and made my family's move from Phoenix to Miami very easy. We didn't have time to pack, but Ray and his team did a phenomenal job (check out the picture with all the packing materials for our kitchen alone). We had issues with our move-in date (sigh, Miami), and Ray was very accommodating and willing to adjust our delivery date. I hired Let's Help Movers for my simple move from a studio apartment to a storage unit 10 miles away. There were a total of 10 small boxes, a desk, bed, mattress, and metal shelving. On the day of my move, 2 men showed up with an empty truck - no mattress cover, no moving pads, no tape - nothing. I had spoken with Sylvester at Let's Help Movers 3 times prior to my move to ensure he would have supplies with him. The guys proceeded to throw my boxes marked 'fragile' around like they were pillows. They had grease all over everything, including my brand new mattress. By the time the mattress made it to my storage unit and I could buy a cover for it, it was ruined. There was grease on every surface. I cannot have it cleaned or covered (per manufacturer's guidelines). When I go to pay the movers with my cc, the invoice is from a different moving company. Let's Help Movers contracted someone else, didn't tell me, sent these idiots that were not prepared or professional, and ruined my mattress. I have called, emailed, and filed a complaint with BBB - and they have done nothing. I guess they think that ignoring a customer is the way to handle their mistake. I've asked repeatedly for a new mattress or a check to cover the cost. Nothing. Be aware. You may think you are hiring Let's Help Movers and insteady you will get whoever they decide to send that day. My simple move has cost me over $1000 in damages. read more
