Called and asked about since the item is literally unopened with original packaging in tact. Was informed this was their rule even though this return policy was not clearly disclosed except on the receipt which technically is after the purchase. California Civil Code §1723 requires restrictive return policies to be clearly and conspicuously displayed. Their excuse was that they can't tell everyone about it since they have so many customers. I believe a simple sign posted clearly would have done the job but they didn't. They offered to give store credit in full but it had to be used before end of year so I had literally like only 3 months to use it. After working with an adamant store clerk who seemed unwilling to consider our circumstances, I felt that I didn't want to waste my time trying to look for $80 worth of stuff to buy which I may not need. I will likely gift it to someone who can use a smaller grill. I will not be returning to this store. Not recommended if you're seeking reasonable store policies that apply to rest of California.

Unfortunately, the experience was really disappointing. There were three sales associates working while we were there, and not one acknowledged us or even greeted us. We had questions and were clearly interested in making a purchase, yet no one offered assistance or even basic customer service. It was surprising, especially seeing that they're hiring, because customer acknowledgment should be the bare minimum. What made it even more upsetting was that we felt completely ignored as customers of Asian descent while others seemed to receive attention. Whether intentional or not, it left us feeling unwelcome. I had been really looking forward to purchasing my first Le Creuset piece and making it a special experience, but instead I left feeling disappointed and overlooked.
