My mom and I had a blast playing "capirucho" while we waited for our food. A must have is the picadera el gordito! It's an appetizer platter that brings 6 different items to try and enjoy! It's a perfect option for parties of 2-3 people. I loved everything I tried, from the yuca con chicharrón, to the carne asada, to how big the "mini" pupusas were. The pupusas that came with the platter were "revueltas" (a mix of beans, cheese, and pork), so I had to order the pupusa de queso con loroco. This is the national food of El Salvador, so I had to try it. Let me tell you, it did not disappoint! The taste was pretty authentic. Of course nothing will compare to eating a pupusa in El Salvador, but this was pretty close! For dessert we had the Empanadas de plátano. What a great way to end our meal! Typically eaten with a cafecito. The milk cream inside was sweet and warm. Delicious! I also saw an abuelita working the kitchen, so that tells you all you need to know about the food.
