How glad are we that we found Levant Cafe. It's seriously AMAZING. My husband is Lebanese by way of Jordan, so it's always a mission of ours to find amazing Levantine and/or Mediterranean cuisine close to where we live. Seriously, Levant hits the nail on the head. Where do I start? The Chikafel pita, shawarma, fresh pita bread, or tabouleh? It's all fantastic. I could write songs about the Kibbeh. It reminds me of my precious alcapurrias in Puerto Rico. The Lebanese potatoes are soooo soft and the sauce is so delicious. The owners are a husband and wife couple and we absolutely adore the wife. We mostly see her because we usually pop in during the day. She always asks about our kids when we go in and makes us feel like family. Also, their delivery through Uber Eats is somehow just as fresh and good. We live about 25 mins away and there's only a slight difference from dining in--THEY ARE THAT GOOD. Oh this place is so good. Everything that I have had here tastes so fresh and delicious. I admit that I do not know much about Mediterranean food, so I am just learning to explore the menu but I can say that the Levant Shwarma, Jalapeño Hummus, Lebanese Tabbuleh and the Babaganoush are favorites of mine so far. The pita bread is soft, warm and perfect for dipping. And the staff has always been gracious and helpful. OMG!!!!! We tried this place tonight, and it was stellar. Absolutely authentic food, which was delicious. I can't praise it enough! There are many vegan options, which is what I was looking for. We ordered delivery, and got a falafel wrap, plain falafel with rice and beet salad, the potatoes, fries (how can you not?!), and hummus with some pita. The portions were big. We have plenty for another meal tomorrow. The sauces were also terrific - especially the tahini. I can't praise this place enough. It's going to become a regular locally for us. This is the real deal if you're craving falafel and more. I can't wait to try some of the other dishes. Went here today for the 1st and wife went in and asked if they had gyros and the girl working there said they don't but it's very similar to gyros. So $25 dollars later we get home and the food is UN-edible and smells gross! Honestly the worst food we ever had! I tried to eat it but couldn't and I picked out the meat and gave it to my dog and she didn't care for it either! Wife's went on the garage too! Called the store spoke with girl who took order and was no help and then she brings another girl who was maybe a manager and she was clueless and was no help at all! Kept saying it's Lebanese food! I've had Lebanese food and this crap is not that!! I asked for some refund or a credit and she was very rude and not helpful! Told me to chalk it up to bad experience! I can't believe this place has such high ratings! I'm middle eastern and I know good food from all those places! I wouldn't waste my time on this terrible place! The food is fantastic and definitely the best Mediterranean I have had in Austin. The owner is very hands on and walks each customer through the ordering process- he offered recommendations and advice and our bowls turned out delicious! I would recommend this more as a lunch place than dinner simply because it's an order at the counter style set-up. Also, because the owner takes such care in his service, you may experience a bit of a wait if multiple customers arrive simultaneously. I lucked both times I arrived, but saw a bit of a backup when large groups arrived behind us....still, totally worth the wait! Since the area the staff is in is not 6 feet from patrons, state guidance says that measures such as face covering, hand hygiene, cough etiquette, cleanliness, and sanitation should be rigorously practiced. We stopped here in January for a quick dinner before heading back home to the DFW area. We always enjoy finding new little Mediterranean places to eat. This place was very clean and welcoming. They great you with a hearty hello and are willing to answer any questions you may have about the menu on the wall before you start placing your order. As soon as you order they are getting your meal ready right in front of you. We completely overate because it was so yummy. Loved how fast they get you what your hankering for. You won't have to wait very long for that tasty dinner. If I could give one word of advice ask them to put the sauce on the side for you instead of on top of the falafel especially if you're like us and over order our food and end up taking half to go for left overs. This will help keep the falafel from getting soggy when you decide to have it for left overs. Most likely by the time you fill up your drink and choose between all the delicious choices for libations your food will be ready. Then it was on to the next person to finish it up. I stood there for 10 minutes while my order was sitting in an assembly line of other large online orders. All mine needed was the toppings, bread, and packaging up (I had already paid). My meal sat in this line for so long and only needed minimal finishing, which took the second person 30 seconds to complete. My only recommendation is to pay attention to the people standing in front of you. I understand online orders are just as important, but when someone is standing in front of you, it's nice to feel the service. I would have been better off ordering online next time. read more

Every dish is layered in flavor, and I'm so very happy I went to try this restaurant. The falafel rocks. It's cooked to perfection, spiced with a light and buoyant texture. The Asham Kibbah, fried bulgar dough filled with scrumptiously flavorful beef, knocked our socks off! They made it fresh there as I waited, and I think that was the item I'd anticipated with my mouth watering the most. It did not disappoint. In addition to trying their beef and chicken, the excellent hummus, and some super yummy Lebanese potatoes, their Lebanese Majadara (bulgar, brown lentils and crispy onions bursting with flavor) rounded out our huge and satisfying meal!
