Pretty convenient little spot off the road. Nice setup with a couple spots to sit outside. One of them is covered. Bit of a language barrier with the guy taking orders. He was really nice though. So I didn't get what I wanted but got what he suggested. And he suggested the beef dumplings as a substitute for what I couldn't get. And oh man, those things are pretty awesome. Tasty for sure. And the presentation I think is really nice. We also had the chicken skewers over rice. Those were good too. But I'd probably stick with the beef next time. read more

So f^***** good. Omg so delicious I got the combo chicken and beef ground plate with the rice and fries and put a bunch of different sauces on it by the recommendation of Ahmed/ Ahmad? Super nice guy! Was super patient with my ignorant questions about the food. It was so good. Even my husband was impressed and would come back. The prices increased by $1 from the posted signs but for $18 after tip it was like 3 meals for me. read more

I had my first experience with Afghan cuisine, and it was fantastic! I'm already looking forward to my next visit! Food: I loved the Chicken Chapli Kabab and Qabuli Paluw--both were perfectly cooked. Service: The owner was incredibly kind and welcoming! Even though he was juggling orders and cooking all by himself, he still made time to chat and share some insights about Afghani culture and what inspired them to open their business. 4.5/5 be aware that this is a good truck so parking and seating is limited. Ordered the Qabuli Paluw and they gave us a free side of fries. The rice had a mild flavor on its own and the raisins provided that sweet note that I didn't initially expect but was nice. The lamb shank was cooked extremely well and extremely tender to the point I could almost pull out the entire bone with little to no resistance. The flavor wasn't as impactful on its own as I had imagined, but was pretty tasty when eaten with the rice and raisins. That said, I slightly regret not ordering something else on the side; while the flavor and textures were nice, it did feel a little monotonous without something to occasionally break up the taste / get your taste buds excited to resume eating (kinda like the pickled radishes whenever you eat Korean fried chicken). Nevertheless, I will for sure be coming back to try their other dishes. read more

DELICIOUS. My wife and I had never heard of this spot and decided to give it a try for the first time. The food truck is located in the lot of a gas station. We actually ordered our meal over the phone--it was a smooth process, person picked up and took our order with no issues. The truck has just a couple of tables (literally two or three) you can sit at if you wish, but not much room for any parties larger than 4--we decided to take our meals home. I ordered the "Combo Chapli Kabab:" Ground meat chicken and beef patties, seasoned with herbs and spices, fried in oil with crispy exterior and juicy interior. Served with basmati rice, salad and hand cut fries. The portions on this plate were super generous, especially for the price. The seasoning in the meat elevated all the other components of the plate. They give you a choice of spice-level, I went with "medium" rather than hot. It was perfect, not too spicy at all, but a good little kick with every bite. The white sauce on top of everything was creamy and really brought the small spicy kick some balance. The fries were cooked just right, not too crispy and not too soft, and the side salad brought some freshness to the plate. To top off the quality and generous portions of the food, the service was also amazing. The two guys in the truck were super friendly, very polite and warm--I felt like a couple friends made my meal. Overall an amazing experience and a new spot that we'll be coming to regularly. Highly recommend Mealma!!!! read more

We called the place to place our order and the gentleman who assisted us was really kind, he confirmed our order, let us know how long it'll take, and sounded happy/excited as if he was looking forward to seeing us! Love that customer service! I got the beef dumplings and ummm asked myself - why am I barely experiencing this flavor?! They were so good, the beef pa-AH-cked with flavor, the chickpeas?? the sauce?? Second round and damn, did that food hit the spot. These guys are doing justice to Afghani NYC street food. The beef mantus are just spectacular. The Qabuli Paluw was one of the best I've had recently. Pics don't tell the whole truth, there's a lamb shank hiding in the middle and it's cooked to perfection. I don't care who's watching, I'm sucking that bone marrow dry outta that shank. Skewers still not available but the chapli kabab plates with the delicious sauces, wraps, and burger ought to keep me busy the next few times. Service was excellent this time around. I had lunch at Mealma Meena food truck last week, and I really enjoyed their dumplings. I had heard about this place from a friend. We are both crazy about dumplings, and we seem to be on a food-truck-in-a-gas-station-parking-lot kick, so we went to check them out. I got the chicken dumplings (mantu) and my friend got the beef dumplings. Both were so tasty! Chicken Mantu refers to an Afghan dish of steamed dumplings filled with spiced ground chicken and typically topped with a yogurt-based sauce and sometimes a tomato sauce. It's a variation of the traditional Afghan Mantu, which is traditionally made with ground beef or lamb. I have had many Asian dumplings in my lifetime, but these dumplings were very unique and so tasty! I love the sauce that came with them too. We tasted each other's dumplings and both were fantastic. These folks just moved down from New York and have set up shop in Pflugerville. Go check them out! The ambience is as good as it gets in a gas station parking lot. They have a covered table and chairs set up next to the truck, and it was just fine. Really nice folks. Great food! Cheers! read more

Dang, man!! I LOVED LOVED LOVED the Beef Dumplings with some green and white sauce. I also go the Quabuli Paluw to go, and it was with a lamb shank that literally falls off the bone. HOLY CAMMOLLI!! I've not had Afghani food before, and this was completely off the chain. The owner was a super quiet and super kind gentleman from NY. I hope they choose to stay here in Pville, and I hope they continue to prosper, bc we LOVE having lots of variety of things to eat up here. The menu is diverse and different than other Afghani spots I have tried. Dumplings and Chapli kebabs were both excellent. Well done, well presented, reasonably priced, large portions. A little bit of heat and a little sweet. I also really liked the lentils that came in the side of my dumplings. Would order those again in a heartbeat - even as a main. Good service and parking is easy since it is in a gas station parking lot. There is some seating but I took my food to go. I'd definitely order from this place again. read more

11/10 First time trying Afghan food and it was delicious! The guy working there was very kind and said they'd come here from NYC! He recommended the chicken so I got that. The kebabs are melt in your mouth tender, delicious sauce, fresh greens. Fries needed more seasoning but with the rest of the meal being so good, I hardly cared. Generous portion as well! It was the first time we tried food truck coming all the way from Lakeline Mall area. It was worth the drive. The food was amazingly good. I would recommend to take it home. It is already packed for to go. We sat in the outdoor cabana. I recommend going after 8 PM to avoid the heat if you're going to sit there and eat . Delicious afghani food with the convenience of being a food truck! I've tried chicken dumplings, beef chapli burger and beef chapli kabab salad. Everything is delicious! The sweet and spicy sauce is great as well. The staff are very friendly. They set up a tv with cartoons for the kids while my mom and I got to eat in peace. The kids enjoyed their fries :) My favorite dish so far was the beef chapli with salad. WOW! It's located in a Valero parking lot and had a few tables to sit and eat. Location is convenient to get to and prices are good. Each meal comes with fries and a drink. So far I've come twice. Love having a delicious halal afghani food option in the area. read more

I immediately told the cashier I didn't like the drink and would like just an Americano, double shot espresso. I was charged $9 for a 12 oz cup. No cream or sugar, no added flavorings. If I were in charge I wouldn't have charged for this second drink, since it comes at almost zero cost to them and would show good faith and ensure repeat business. Disappointingly, the Americano was also watery and sort of "lemony", but I still drank half while sitting with my friend. I'll say that my friend had some sort of an iced latte that she enjoyed. I might try a second visit and order a Turkish coffee, but I will make sure to have had a full meal before.

Stopped by this spot near the Cinemark theatre and tried the chicken chapli kabab, it was great! Super flavorful and cooked well. Not really a fan of their rice though, so next time I'll go for different sides instead of the rice plate. Service was pretty good too -- friendly and quick. Ordered the Chicken Shawarma wrap & Lamb Shawarma wrap The chicken was sooo flavorful, just enough aioli and perfect size. Husband loves the lamb and said it was flavorful. We will for sure be back and try other wraps/menu items.

I wish the sauce had been spicy so I could have been hit with more flavor. I think this restaurant is new, so they are still getting used to cooking new dishes. I would try this again in a few months when more people are ordering and asking for stronger flavors.
