They provided a modern, clean living space, transportation to his work, cooking classes, supervised grocery shopping, and adults available at all times. In 2022 my brother moved to The Ranch as he could no longer physically navigate The Village campus. The Ranch staff loved on him, making the transition much easier. At this point, he fully transitioned to campus life, rather than a working world schedule. They provided an array of classes, with each resident having 3 classes per day. Staff filled in with special activities during class semester breaks. Finally, my brother had further medical issues and moved to The Villa, where there was more access to medical support and services. Once again, the staff had smart suggestions to help this transition and were always willing to work through any rough spots which might occur. Supports at the Villa included an on-site physical therapy team, around the clock nursing care, a PA on site full time, a dedicated doctor, a social worker, as well as daily planned activities. Marbridge was a life long blessing for both my brother and my family. Our experience has been that they provided a quality living environment with appropriate levels of care for all stages of life.

The food served is terrible. The residents need assistance in basic care to look clean, shaved, groomed. They need guidance. I left because of the management lack of support in wanting to assist the residents. Feels more like an institution than a community. They seem to keep parents away and tell residents not to tell them anything. I cried too many times to stay working at The Village. You need to either not care to work there or the staff will hate you.

12/30/2021- My father was transferred here after contracting covid 19 to quarantine. He arrived on…read morea Thursday afternoon. It wasn't until 18 hours later that I was able to get in touch with him. The staff never gave him his personal cell phone, nor did they answer their phones at the facility. Trying to get in touch with anyone there was impossible after MANY MANY attempts. When I did talk to someone I was told "everyone was off due to the holiday". It wasn't until receiving a text the following Monday 1/3/2022 asking to sign admission paperwork for the transfer, I did actually speak to someone for longer than 1 minute. At that time I asked for a update and strongly voice my frustrations. My reply in text was enough to actually receive a phone call from someone. At that time is where I voiced my concerns about the lack of administration, communication, and it being impossible to reach anyone there. Heaven forbid there be an emergency on my end, or on his. I'm almost certain I wouldn't be able to get through, or even receive a call if something happened to him. I will say after voicing my concerns things got slightly better. But that was still after multiple attempts. Today my dad returned back to his initial facility. Upon his arrival the nurses, and wound care did a full evaluation, and documentation on my dad. He has bruising all over both arms (possibly due to blood work, yet he has a picc line), a fungal infection under his arm pits, and groin area, they noticed what looked to be bed sores on his back, bottom, and heels of his feet from not transitioning him, or offloading his weight during his stay. He literally was in bed and the same position for 10 days straight from the sounds of the report I got this evening 1/10/2022. The wound care he was receiving from an amputation was larger upon his return, than it was when he left only ten days earlier. Due to being a covid patient, I was unable to visit, and relied on him answering his phone to get any sort of updates. If your loved one doesn't have a cell phone, do NOT plan on any communication! Make sure it's plugged in and kept charging. AT ALL TIMES! PLEASE if you send a family member here, make sure to be there as much as you possibly can be!!! I'm sure if something did happen you'd never hear about it from anyone. From what I've experienced these last 10 days I wouldn't recommend having anyone stay at Legend Oaks North Austin. Maybe things would have been different if I was able to be there daily. But given him being covid positive no one was able to enter the 300 hall staff included, nor send me to the nurses station phone "because they don't have one in that hall". Keep researching!!!

When my wife first suggested a doula I was concerned that a doula might be "woowoo" or try to influence our decisions or approach. This was not the case at all. Prior to childbirth they offered unbiased information, introduced us to helpful tools and practices and took much of the mystery and anxiety out of child birth. During child birth the doula offered a steady and experienced hand so that my wife could focus on a safe delivery. Their techniques substantially reduced my wife's pain and in our case helped her have an unmedicated delivery. In short they helped us make an educated delivery plan and then used their experience to support our decisions relative to that plan during childbirth. Here are highlights of their service: - Met with us in our home and helped us prepare a birth plan and understand the birth process. - Were available to answer questions leading up to birth (which was particularly helpful in alleviating anxiety) - Met us at the hospital and advised throughout the labor. This was HUGE. Our doula helped us follow our birth plan, made recommendations for pain relief, did hands-on pain relief, gave me (dad) options for how to be most helpful, told us what was coming next, encouraged mom, and stayed with mom after the birth. - Stayed with us after birth until we felt comfortable -- What she didn't do (also important) was meddle in medical care or personal decisions, sideline dad or push an agenda. She had a great rapport with the hospital staff who clearly valued their help and were also glad she was there. I suggest that you talk with them if you want to learn more about the doula option.

Jillian Silva, our childbirth instructor, was communicative via email and text in the days leading up to the class and welcomed us at the door upon arrival. The class presentation was delivered through PowerPoint slides, lectures, videos and hands-on demonstrations and practice. Jillian was very knowledgeable on all points discussed during the class, and had tangible hospital items for us to view and touch for further understanding and familiarity. We covered topics such as: what to pack in your hospital and baby bag, stages of labor, relaxation techniques, responsibilities of partner, options for labor pain relief (degrees of natural and non-natural options), labor aids/tools that the hospital provides and more! Jillian, who is also a certified Doula, has such a calming and confident nature. She was professional, timely, prepared and very friendly; she even made brownies for the class! Anyone who chooses to have her presence and expertise during their labor and delivery is one lucky mama. The class was from 9am-4pm with a 30 min lunch and the hospital tour from 3-4pm. The long day was totally worth it! I walked away from the class feeling equipped to do what my body knows how to do naturally, and if and when I need support, I now know who to contact. As expected, she was led to an exam room and asked to disrobe in preparation for her medical exam. While she was awaiting the Nurse, an individual knocked on the door and asked to enter. Believing it was part of her ARC medical visit, she agreed. It was not. An individual entered and presented my child with a printout asking if they wanted to take part in a gender related study involving mental health issues that may or may not involve compensation (per the printout). Per my child, they pressed her to sign up and participate. Caught off guard by this unexpected intruder, my child responded they would speak with their mother first and took a picture of the handout to be polite. Again, my child was disrobed in the exam room awaiting an ARC medical professional when this individual entered on a completely unrelated matter and solicited them to take part in a study that had NOTHING to do with their medical care. How is ARC allowing this to occur? No one should be allowed to solicit disrobed patients inside an ARC exam room. These actions unnecessarily confused my child and made them extremely uncomfortable. If ARC wishes to setup a table in the office lobby for outside solicitors to attract interested parties, then so be it, but to allow them to enter exam rooms with disrobed patients is unacceptable and should be stopped immediately. Again, this solicitor had nothing to do with the purpose of my child's medical visit and was simply seeking applicants for their study. The printout in question showed "ROC - Reach out and Connect" on the front. ARC should not allow solicitors into the exam room under any circumstances! **Response to Annie A's reply: I attempted to send this complaint via your online form on the ARC contact page you're referring to, but it failed to accept my submission. Too many characters? Don't know - it did not provide an error message. Why not share your work contact email here so I, and others, may reach out to you directly with our concerns? Isn't that the purpose of "customer service"? Also, why not share your reply to my review here so possible future ARC patients may better understand how this issue is being handled moving forward? Resolution for me will be ARC acknowledging exam room solicitations (such as my child experienced) are unprofessional and will be prevented moving forward. Thank you.

Chase helped me call my insurance company (giving me the right questions to ask them) to get verification that these services would be covered. The traffic to get here is a little bit of pain but I have been feeling overall better. I enjoy the use of equine into my therapy because I am huge animal lover. I never realized that horses can have such a vital role in helping me in my progress but ever time I leave here to head home my mind is in a better place. Interestingly enough, I had taken a sensory processing test during my evaluation and found out things about myself that I had come to live with throughout my life. I would have loved to have this type of therapy when I was a child but back in the 80s this would have been laughed at. At least back in Ohio where I grew up.
