Bike tech skipped a step on re-assembly after brake maintenance causing my rear brake pads to fall out. Lost the pads on the trail. Store gave me incorrect but sorta-passable (rubbing) pads in the meantime. Did not have correct pads in stock and could not order them. Did not take responsibility or offer to offset the $40+shipping cost of the right pads. For maintenance find a tech who doesn't skip steps. Better yet, learn to do it yourself. We came here on a whim because we were grocery shopping next door at Smith's and saw what seemed to be a 2nd hand used ski shop. When we got inside there were some used snowboards and skis and whatnot. Nothing seemed too badly damaged or beat up, there wasn't too much inventory but enough for you to look thru. My friend was looking for a new jacket and found one made of gortex for $250, that might sound expensive but the new retail price was over $600. It wasn't used, it was just a sample from 2015, so its never been worn outside. I though that was a great deal, kinda wish i would have found it first! My friend never bought it immediately, he needed to think over it for a day. When we went back the next morning the guy asked us where we were going snowboarding, we said Snow Basin, he offered us discounted tickets which was great, it saved us about $9 each and we were able to skip the line to purchase tickets at Snow Basin! My friend really liked his jacket and how the gortex performed, next time I'm here, I'm going to take a closer look! read more

I always rent from here before hitting any of the ski resorts. Much cheaper and faster than the resorts. I also bought my son their ski package with skis, adjustable sized boots, and bindings all for around $250. I bought a pair of ski boots as well after being sized up properly. Would recommend to anyone hitting up the slopes. read more

I was doing some riding while on vacation and got a flat (I sliced my tubeless tire and it wouldn't hold air anymore) on the first ride. I really wanted to get my bike rolling again so I could do all the rides I had planned in the little time I had in town. This was the only shop I could find open on the 4th of July. The team was friendly and helpful. Next time I'm in town if I have bike trouble I'll be back. The only criticism I have is the tire selection was pretty small or picked over so I opted to put a tube in my worn out tire to get through the trip and I'll do tires when I get home. read more

If you're looking for a great place to rent outdoor equipment for a fair price and good customer service, this business falls horribly short. After renting several rafting tubes (none of which were inspected, we later learned) we arrive to the river to find that one of our tubes has a hole. Upon return, we explained to the Store Manager what the situation was (hoping for a refund of the tube). What we got was an accusation that it was our fault, a lie that it had never been rented before...then that it hadn't, culminating in a family member being called a "F***ing B**** and a liar" by again, the Store Manager herself. Please view my profile to see all of my other reviews to verify that this is simply not a RANTING post. It was an awful experience and I hope the owner reads this and takes action. The problem I have with this shop is the inconsistent costumer service. Sometimes you get someone really friendly but it seems more often you get someone who seems annoyed with you being there. I wish they would get more friendly staff members as I'm not going to shop where I feel like I'm an annoyance. Also, I think the SUP board rentals are a little too pricey. read more

Came by here twice about two weeks apart in February 2015. The selection of was really lacking. The salt lake store has a huge consignment selection, intermixed with new items. There were barely any consignment items here, and the new items are very expensive. (75-150 for tops, 150+ for ski boots, 125+ for ski jackets and 75+ for ski pants) It didn't look like much inventory had moved between my visits. I noticed a lot of the same items still on the racks. Last week, while visiting my in-laws in Ogden, I rented a bike for an easy ride around the river parkway. However, a freak bike accident left me grounded, and when my MIL called, the store sent two employees to meet us-- one for the bike and one for the riders. Fortunately, an xray showed my recent knee replacement to be fine (yep, I landed square on my new knee). I can't say how appreciative we are of the help offered by 2nd Tracks and your staff. Very disappointed with the service. Called ahead of time to see if they were doing rentals. I Showed up and they tell me that there are no snowboards in stock and they didn't have the right size for ski rentals. Then then proceed to tell me that even though I was there before the early rental expired because they didn't have any stock I would not get the early rental price. This place is a joke. Their rental gear is garbage anyways. Had a much better experience at Gear 30 for the same cost and they had the equipment available. Will not be back. read more

Its amazing how much different Weber county is to Utah and even Salt Lake county. You'd think you are in totally different parts of the country. Service here is typical of Weber county: awful. It seems like people in Weber county see customers as a inconvenience. Don't like customers? Go out of business! Last time I was here for about 1 hour and no one bothered to acknowledge my existence. Much of the time, the cashier just stood doing nothing at the front register. If you are lucky, and dig hard enough, you might find some good finds. Places is a joke called the day before to check pricing on rentals, he told me prices and I asked can I reserve a spot I guess that it's on a first come first serve basis, which is perfectly fine. Asked him what time time they open he said 8am on Sundays! Perfect I get there at 7:55am but I guess when he said they open at 8am he meant 8ish cause me and my girlfriend waited tell 8:15 and still no one came to open up the store so we left and rented from the resort. My wife and I just purchased a season pass and went in to rent ski's until we were ready to purchase next year. We went to 2nd tracks (Ogden) and when we walked in we were greeted by a very friendly gal (Hannah). She was extremely helpful and knowledgeable and answered all of our questions. They were having an end of year sale. Hannah explained the deep discounts on ski equipment. She was extremely patient while I tried on about 10 pairs of boots. She explained the benefits and knew details about each brand. My wife and I ended up buying an entire setup (ski's, boots, bindings, poles). We feel we got an unbelievable setup at a great price. We were anxious to go skiing the next day. Hannah arranged for the crew to stay late to get our bindings put on. We picked the ski's up the next morning before the lifts even opened. I just bought a vintage 1970's Raleigh electric blue 3 speed English bicycle from the 2nd Track Sports in Ogden UT and I am as thrilled as a girl can get. The staff were super nice and down to earth, helpful and I had fun making my purchase. Their prices are great and fair and I have to say to all the people complaining in these reviews......don't expect perfection when you are paying a fraction of the price for things ok? Do not buy Ski Boots from 2nd Tacks. The boot fitters do not have any idea what they are doing. I was fitted with a boot a full size to small and after 2 custom sessions (at my cost) the boots still did not work. I was told try them and the'll pack out. We'll they didn't and they won't take any accountability even after management agreed they should have never recommended the boot. In addition to adults I would not recommend them for children boots as well. I brought my four year old in for fitting for Rental boots/ski's and they said they didn't make boots for feet his size. Funny part is he had boots the year before and I'm pretty sure his feet did not shrink. Went to Alpine and no problem. They were very knowledgeable and we were in and out without any issues. read more

The guy who was helping me was a d-bag who seemed irritated when I questioned him on a $1 check processing fee that I was never informed about. Awesome store. I found the same bike bibs that my wife just paid $200 for for $30! The mechanic was really helpful when I brought my bike in and was very knowledgeable. The whole sales staff was very friendly and everyone seemed happy to be there. I will definately be coming back in the wintertime to check it out. Hopefully its just as good. read more

I was in Utah visiting my sister recently and went into 2nd Tracks. I was happy with my experience. They have a good variety of apparel and sporting goods, and they have very reasonable prices. They have some lightly used apparel in addition to their new products, such as shoes and boots, which were in great in condition with great prices. The staff was super friendly and helpful as well. As soon as I walked in I was greeted and helped. Though I was only apparel shopping, I did browse the boards and skis. While doing so I overheard other customers being helped, and the staff seems very knowledgeable about the products that they sell. So If you are looking for good prices on quality clothing or equipment, looking for rentals before you hit the mountain, or you just have questions about various products before you buy I would check out 2nd Tracks in Ogden. read more

Great store with excellent customer service. I go in twice a week to see what kind of deals they have because the gear comes and goes fast. My kids LOVE to visit the dogs there who are always well behaved and tolerant. They have sweet deals on gear and rentals. They even offer professional boot fitting in the winter and full bike service in the summer. read more
