Very good beer from a home brew original. I tried 3 different kinds of beer and I loved all of them. The staff was kind and helpful even with the place packed with cyclists. I had a chance to talk to the owner, very pleasant man. If I was local I would have joined the mug club and had my mug hanging in the ceiling above the bar.

Total surprise for a very small town brewery. Decor was solid without trying too hard. Seemed like there was a great selection of beer. Note: no IPAs or sour beers here. But if you want to try a wheat, pale ale, stout, porter, amber, cider, imperial red, farmhouse, this place will do the trick. They offer flights at a very reasonable price so if you have a friend, try their 12-glass flight. You get to try everything and you can pick your top 5 for a follow-up 5-glass flight. :)

Seeing the sign on I-35 we decided to check Ninja Moose out. The taproom is small and was busy on a Friday at noon. We were traveling north for the weekend and had our dog along. Asked the owner if the outdoor patio was dog friendly and he said, "Yes, but if your dog makes a mess you have to clean it up." As a responsible dog owner I think this goes with out saying. We moved to the patio and then the owner pokes his head out the door and says they don't do table service on the patio. No biggie so I headed inside while my wife watched the dog on the patio. I place my order and the bartender says he will bring it out to me. OK so do you have table service or not? He brought our flight out to us and we order burgers off the menu as well. The food is from other places in town but it was nice we could order them from the brewery. As for the beers half were below average and the half were just average. Some flaws nothing spectacular but just ok beer. The food was awesome (See my review of J's Burgers) so that made it worth the stop but otherwise not sure if we will stop again just for the beer.

An amazing place worthy of any metropolitan area, yet resides in a small town not known for tourism an hour outside of Kansas City. It has simple elegance with modern lighting, leather furniture, an old wooden phone booth turned gift "shop" and about 6 stools at a bar nestled into a corner of the tiny space. The brewing equipment is behind glass along the side of the building, taking up about 40% of the building, and allowing space for about 25 customers. I did a small sampling and brought home 2 growlers. I have had 1 so far - the strong Abbey. I believe it was around 8+ABV. It is absolutely fantastic. I still have a Zach's Wheat (named after baseball hall of famer Zach Wheat - a native of Hamilton). I can't wait to open it, and get back to Hamilton for more!

This was such an unexpected, but great stop. Having grown up in rural Kansas, this was such a perfect example of small-town DIY spirit, in beer form. Everything from the beer to the brewery was simple yet well executed without a hint of extravagance.

A great place to grab a drink and some food. They have a nice selection of beer and you can order food to be delivered by neighboring restaurants. The service is friendly and fast. Love the atmosphere, an overall great experience in the little town of Hamilton, Mo.

Great place to go. The whole staff was wonderful. Just walked in while my wife was doing the quilt stuff. Enjoyed my time there.

This was a great stop. Happened upon it by chance, stayed for the atmosphere and craft beer. Friendly and knowledgeable staff.

Try the Deacons Oatmeal Stout for a smooth, tasty brew; and Apple Pie Cider for avert cider that'll kick you in your butt!

I don't patronize this place all that often, once every 1-2 months or so. I appreciate that they usually have at least one beer that I haven't tried before added to the tap list rotation, so they're still willing to experiment and come up with new brews. Bartenders are usually pretty attentive, friendly, personable, and are willing to give you samples to try if you aren't sure which beer to try. Also, the venue is pretty neat, as it's a renovated building in downtown Saint Jo, and they've kept pretty true to its industrial roots with exposed brick, high ceilings, and sealed concert floors. It doesn't hurt that they have an entire side of the building with great big windows to let in natural light. I have two criticisms - 1) it needs a bigger outdoor space. The deck out back is nice but it doesn't have much space to avoid the smokers. 2) I'm a huge fan of sour beers, and RB's brewmasters just haven't put out much in this genre. If they had more of these, I'd probably stop in more often.
