It has a ways to go. Only donut shop in town. It simply needs to step up and it would get a ton of business.

What a wonderful place to enjoy fresh, homemade baked goods!…read more We stopped by to try their famous cinnamon rolls, and they were absolutely incredible. Soft, fresh, and packed with flavor, easily some of the best we've ever had. We also picked up some locally made jam and homemade lemonade, and both were delicious. One of my favorite things about this place is that it's family-owned. You can even see the kids helping their parents, greeting customers, packing orders, and being part of the whole experience. It gives the bakery such a warm and genuine feel that you just don't find very often anymore. Such a lovely experience with a cozy atmosphere. Definately recommend stopping by if you're in the area!

Sometimes the best places are the ones you never planned to visit…read more We were just driving through Jamesport when we noticed this little family-owned bakery and decided to stop. The moment I walked inside, I felt like I had stepped back into my childhood. I grew up in another country, and this place reminded me of the small village stores I remember from years ago. It brought back a lot of good memories. Everything here feels homemade. Not "homestyle" as a marketing slogan, but actually homemade. You can tell people take pride in what they make. We tried the cinnamon rolls, a couple of fried pies, fresh lemonade, and later took home some jam as well. The cherry fried pie was probably my favorite, and the cinnamon roll was incredibly soft and fresh. Nothing tasted mass-produced. One thing I really appreciated was the atmosphere. No rush, no pressure, just friendly people doing their work. The kids working at the register were polite, explained everything we asked about, and made us feel welcome. We spent about $19 for everything we bought, which felt fair considering the quality and the fact that almost everything is made from scratch. If you're driving through this part of Missouri, I'd definitely recommend stopping here. It's not just a bakery--it's one of those places that reminds you what homemade food is supposed to taste like. I'll gladly stop again the next time I'm passing through.

Small town donut shop in a strip mall...just what you'd expect for good results…read more.. I got pretty lucky, arrived at 7:45 on a Sunday morning, as I was leaving at 7:55, the line was 7 deep with several cars parking in the lot. They had 3 people working the counter, so service was quick. Several dads were there with the little ones, grabbing breakfast so mom could get a few extra minutes of sleep. Now for the donuts, several varieties, glazed, filled, fritters, long johns, turnovers, muffins, and more. We grabbed two dozen, and my son quickly ate a glazed, maple long john and apple fritter...after he removed the feed bag, jinxed he doesn't speak while eating...he commented...those are really good, better than quiktrip..? Yes, much better... I ate a coconut sprinkle iced cake and a cinnamon roll, both were very tasty. The iced cake had a slight crunch to it, not that mushy oily taste some cake donuts have... Slivinsky's is a full service bakery, they also had bread, cakes, turnovers, and several other options I did not try. It's a little bit of a drive to Kearney, but I think it's worth it... Keep yelping...its good for your health...

It's definitely not the same as it used to be; donuts are a bit drier. Cake donuts are still good…read more- very dense. But most everything has experienced 30% or more "shrinkflation".... prices are the same as I remember from a year or two ago, but now everything is about 2/3 the size it was. They now sell "short johns" as my daughter calls them, and the yum-yums are now about 4" long instead of full sized twists. The service was great, but the quality of the products just isn't where it used to be.

Along with Rayville Baking Company, the City Market in Kansas City has this place to be thankful…read more In fact, I think this place has a leg up on Rayville, because they not only make a lot of gluten-free baking goods (a feat in itself), but they use _locally_ grown organic wheat. Just crazy. And, the best part is --it tastes amazing. They have all sorts of whole wheat, multi-grain, and one of the most popular (it sells out the fastest, I hear) is the asiago cheese. Of course, I have a weakness for the cinnamon rolls, and their pecan honey roll is pretty amazing. I can also attest to the gluten-free muffins: somehow they avoid using gluten but the muffin is very fluffy and rich. They also sells eggs from their chickens and other baked goods, like pizza crusts and granolas. You can order their food from their website, or on Saturday mornings go to the downtown Kansas City farmer's market, or the Brookside farmer's market, or the one in Minor Park (Holmes and E. Red Bridge Rd.). They also have a web site just for gluten-free stuff: http://www.gflife.com

But the real reason I'm posting this review: Did you know they have vegan baked goods? They do.
