Tuesday is free pool day. Friendly bartender. Dive bar with beautiful tiled flooring. They have their own brewed beer and fun named Halloween themed drinks. Friendly pool players and patrons. I like the Schlitz deco.

Limited beer selection but still a great spot! Historic location in the downtown area. Bartender was nice and even shared some of the historic details with us while we ordered our drinks. We enjoyed the cooled (AC) location, tasty popcorn and a few games of shuffleboard. Would visit this quaint historic location again.

We Took a short drive to excelsior springs to explore the cute downtown area. We came across this saloon that is hiding a brewery indoors! The bartender gave us such amazing customer service explaining the history and the craft beers. We got called away to our lunch reservation and they were so kind to hold our flight for us upon our return. Highly recommend if your looking for some craft beer, friendly faces and a dive bar feel!

As of May 19 2018 it is now also known as the Atlas Saloon Brewery. So not only is there friendly staff in this beautiful bar dating back to 1894, now they are making their own beer. And I have to tell you, it is FANTASTIC. Every beer we sampled was spot-on, and their take on an Irish Stout is hands-down the very best non-BA stout I have ever tasted (and I have tasted hundreds). This place is a gem!

They do not allow you to order food and bring it to their large deck, not even if you get it togo. Which was very disappointing as we had a group of 6 and were planning to spend the afternoon there. We moved to the main building patio to eat. Our server did not enjoy her job. When we asked for napkins after our food arrived, she loudly said "you guys are being high maintenance". Just unnecessary, and she had attitude quite a few times. Our tickets had an auto gratuity added of 20%, she tried to hide this by giving us tickets that were not itemized, until someone asked for it to be itemized and some of us had already added an additional tip. I guess when you know you're getting a tip you don't need to be friendly or attentive.

When they brought the food after not checking on how we liked the wine we asked if we could have something else. It turns out the wine we were served wasn't even what we ordered. We asked to switch to red since the whites were overly sweet. The red was drinkable but not good. We aren't from the area and definitely felt like we were treated that way. The pizza was ok but the nachos we ordered were terrible.

I don't patronize this place all that often, once every 1-2 months or so. I appreciate that they usually have at least one beer that I haven't tried before added to the tap list rotation, so they're still willing to experiment and come up with new brews. Bartenders are usually pretty attentive, friendly, personable, and are willing to give you samples to try if you aren't sure which beer to try. Also, the venue is pretty neat, as it's a renovated building in downtown Saint Jo, and they've kept pretty true to its industrial roots with exposed brick, high ceilings, and sealed concert floors. It doesn't hurt that they have an entire side of the building with great big windows to let in natural light. I have two criticisms - 1) it needs a bigger outdoor space. The deck out back is nice but it doesn't have much space to avoid the smokers. 2) I'm a huge fan of sour beers, and RB's brewmasters just haven't put out much in this genre. If they had more of these, I'd probably stop in more often.
