I won't say JEA is the worst electric / water provider I've ever had as it's just a tad bit by a little margin better than some of the EMCs I've belonged too; but then again we use to get yearly rebates from the EMCs. With this said let me say bless the linemen and the customer service agents for doing their jobs; I have nothing but respect for them. But when it comes to the leadership of JEA it's time for a change. It's time to sell JEA and privatize it to bring the customers better rates and service.

JEA likes to screw with their customers and make them jump through hoops like they are performing circus monkeys. They put up barriers to people paying their bills through their own website for some unknown reason that makes absolutely no sense to anyone nor can anyone in leadership at the company explain all of the barriers. I am certain there are many employees at JEA collecting a paycheck for unnecessary or completely non-productive work. I can tell you that I have never once gotten a rebate that I submitted through JEA. I have never gotten an adjustment to my sewer bill for two separate occasions where someone turned our outside water spigot on when we were out of town. Both times resulting in bills that were over $1,000. And now, I changed banks and have been fighting with these idiots for 6 months to allow me to update my banking information so that I could pay my bill and continue with autopay that I have been on for the last 20 years without incident. I hate JEA. They relish in their incompetence.

The first of several calls were frustrating due to the automated system and long wait times, and it was 48 hours before they called me back. But that was quickly forgotten thanks to the excellent follow-through. Samantha called me back and was incredibly friendly, patient, and efficient in setting up the service appointment. She made the whole process smooth and stress-free. Then Gerald, the technician, came out and truly impressed me. He was thorough and professional in the completion of the work. He addressed the wait due to staff training and professionally represented the company throughout. He carefully inspected everything and made sure the tank, lines, and hot tub heater hookup were all safe and working perfectly. Gerald is the perfect example of great on-site service. If Samantha is the voice of AmeriGas and Gerald is the face, then this company is in excellent hands. If you stay on hold too long they keep turning up the volume hoping you will get annoyed and hang up. I fully expected them to take it out of my provided Auto pay (I don't know about you, but when I set up Auto Pay, I somewhat expect any bills to be AUTO PAID. They apparently sent 2 emails back in March that went into my Spam filter. They have no proof they mailed a final bill to my home address. 3 months later, my credit monitoring agency notifies me that my all but perfect credit score drops from 844 to 674 due to a Collections (which it turns out for this). GRRRR. They couldn't call me, or make darn sure I was aware of this bill before taking this drastic step. Lucky they have a monopoly because I would 100 billion % go to a competitor. Hope Karma gets all the responsible parties.

Customer Service Still Exists Y'all!!…read more I don't know about you but it seems that good ole customer service is almost a thing of the past . I don't normally write reviews but I felt like I needed to on this one. My gas fireplace hasn't worked in 2 years . I called the office to ask a question , Malaya (not sure if I'm spelling it right) answered and started trying to help troubleshoot the problem instead of just quickly making me an appointment. I was impressed that she cared enough and was making the time to try and help me! After trying several things, she realized it was going to need a technician to come out. I was overdue cleaning anyway. Chris came out and fixed the problem. He also showed me where some of the original install was done incorrectly from another company . That was also fixed and then he finished with a top to bottom cleaning! It felt good to have it fixed and working again! They both went above and beyond! They were so friendly, caring and nice and I appreciated it! There are still good people out there doing good things!! :)
