SUPER RUDE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! Rude, like the guy I spoke with on the phone probably beats his wife and kids! They have repaired my mower at least 3 times. When I wanted them to look into part numbers for a gas pedal they repaired before they wanted me to tell the what part #s. Then the guy said I flat out need to buy a new mower, even though I had just told him I was on a tight budget. The owner, Mark Lewis then got on the phone, and tried to do damage control...but was useless. He didn't care at all that his employee was rude. read more

All weed whacker are troublesome. I broke a key part on mine (a Shindaiwa T242) while trying to change the spool. Lewis techs fixed it in minutes, and charged a ridiculously small price to do so. I've bought equipment there in the past, and it's great that they have service to back sales up, too. Friendly and helpful staff. Highly recommended. read more

I live in Medford and generally go to another store because of how close it is to me. I was in Grants Pass last week doing a job that was just down the street and decided to pop in and check it out. First things I noticed was the amount of equipment they have compared to where I normally go. I'm a Stihl guy really, but Husky stuff is still just as good and they have a full line of both, along with some others. They even had higher end stuff than what I can get here in town (could get it, but would have to order). Second thing that stuck out to me was the friendly staff. Everyone was knowledgeable about what they sold. Granted, not everyone is going to now everything there is about every single aspect of the stuff there. However, if I had a question that one person didn't know the answer to, someone else did and I got it quick. They sell clothes, but mostly it is the important stuff like equipment and parts. I decided to go in today and buy an FS240 and BG86, which they priced matched with the store in Medford who was having a sale. They handled the two year warranty, filled them with fuel and did a test run before I left the store. I know how to run the stuff and they knew it, but asked if I would like to go over the running and care of the equipment with them before leaving, which I declined. I plan to go back in there when finances allow and get the big boy Husky clearing saw they have at a later time. That is a lot of tool for the money and I know i would get quality service for the life of the machine. On a side note, if you are not from the area the driveway is easy to miss. read more

This place is great. I had to buy a large mix of equipment. I wasn't super jazzed with the choices at the big-box stores so I found this place on Yelp. I stopped in a Saturday and spent a while talking with Jake about products. I came back a week later and spent a while choosing stuff with the help of Travis. Both the guys were super SUPER helpful and knowledgable (as was the lady that did the billing, but I forget her name). I could ramble on all day, but in short: great place, super staff, and great stuff. Some things are a bit pricey for homeowners being pretty high end equipment, but on the standards--chainsaws, weed-eaters, blowers, etc., while you can buy things that cost as much as you need to spend, prices start at no more than the big box stores but with better options, better equipment, and better service. It's full-service. They put everything together, lube it up, fuel it up, walk you through the startup, and help you load it. Problems? Just go back and they can help an do service. Don't bother bringing in anything to have it serviced apparently they're 5 weeks out from fixing anything new. And for some reason the mechanics are just walking around not actually working on the equipment so that makes sense. read more

After contacting StihlUSA and explaining what Lewis Power Equipment did in an E-mail, I got a phone call the very next day from a Stihl representative. He did the research on my Blower & Lewis Power and informed me Shihl had instructed Lewis to reimburse me back my $44.95 and install a NEW Carb on my Blower!!! Thank YOU So Much JD @ Stihl headquarters for handling this charge of $44.95 that I should not have had to pay AND getting Lewis Power Equipment to install a brand new Carb on my Blower that was only 15 Months under a 4 Year Warranty!! I've been waiting a long time to do a review of Lewis Equipment. Several years back I brought my Stihl chain saw in to be turned and sharpened. About the time I was in there a guy from a Logging company showed up with a truck load of Stihl saws. I dropped mine off and didn't think a thing about it. Couple of days later I get a call from the owner. He says, "my saw needs to be replaced" "it's a worn out piece of junk". And he's said he'd give me a really good deal on a new saw. I declined the offer and told him just to tune it up and sharpen the blade. A week or so later I go in to pick up the saw. He brings out the invoice and I pay in cash up front. He then goes in the back and brings out a saw. Well it wasn't my saw. I'd had that saw for 5 years and I knew ever nick and crack on it. I looked at the saw and told him "that's not my saw". He responded that it was the one that I brought in. Then I said "OH, so that's the reason for the phone call". Then he said "what phone call" at that point I knew the jig was up. That SOB had managed to get my saw mixed in with those from the Timber company and probably gave them my saw. I stood and argued with him for about an hour. He denied that he had switch saws on me, he denied that he had ever called me. I demanded my money back. He refused. I really wish I would have had the serial number off of the saw because if I did I would have taken him to small claims court. The saw he gave lasted about a month. Mine would have gone on for years. So in opinion Lewis Equipment is a bad company to do business with. They are dishonest. Bob read more

Just stopped by to gave chains sharpened and over heard a conversation taking place between a customer and I guess the owner. The owner telling the customer they work on the equipment they sell before working on other related equipment or equipment bought elsewhere. Then he told customer you should consider this when buying . I consider this totally rude. It was not my conversation, I mined my own business. However a gentleman behind touched my shoulder and asked what do you think about that. I told the guy If I were that customer I would have told the owner to shove his store up his A. Would never return. My last visit to this establishment. It is ok to do certain things but to address this with a customer is totally inappropriate. read more

Yeah the people at Lewis's know what they're doing. Maybe the problem is location being behind the bar and at the end of a street next to a freeway. Access not obvious. It appears to be next to Hwy 199 but have to use Redwood Highway. Anyway, the guy actually made a chain the right size without seeing the old chain and without a clear description. I'm kinda shocked that no one else has reviewed these folks! I've stopped in probably 3 times, only bought a few inexpensive accessories for one of my chainsaws, but they have impressed me with price, selection, and good sales people! The fact that they carry both Stihl and Husqvarna is impressive, they sell pro quality workboots for the logging, landscaping and wildland firefighting professions, sell pumps, gensets, riding mowers, and other yard and garden power and hand tools. They clearly tend to sell higher end, quality name brand products. read more

Staff members (3) advised me to buy a small chain saw they thought capable of cutting 24 inch logs easily. The boss also said I would love it. So I purchased a Stihl less than 1/2 the size of my last one. The new saw was incapable of cutting very small logs and stumps and smoked the whole time. I burned up two chains and over-heated a bar in the process. I thought the oil port was not working and took it back twice- after less than an hour of total cutting time. I asked the boss how much he would give me for a trade-in on a larger saw. The trade-in value for a 1 hour used Stihl was only 60%. So I went to another dealer who advised me the saw I bought was okay for very small diameter wood but totally inadequate for my stated use and gave me 25% more on a trade-in on a larger saw. read more

Wow...for years, top end business. have gone in recently with something that takes literally 5 minutes to fix and was told they are six weeks out on repairs. (Not the busy season either) Seems like they need a new business manager....:then I go in for parts for a trimmer they carry ...air filter, spark plug, oil filter, etc.....Told it would take two days to get items together...when they are right in your shelf ???? The kicker....told a part in for repair would be ready for me to pick up in two days. The third day I called and got this young buck on the phone with a very bad attitude telling me the mechanic was not at work today...(when they are obviously short on mechanics in the first place why was he not at work ?) anyway, this "young buck" who was extremely rude and sarcastic just sealed the deal for me to write this review and never utilize Lewis again. read more

I had a poor experience with getting correct parts. I have been doing this small engine repair deal for 43 years and have a clue what I'm doing. I needed 2 parts, same part number. I looked up the correct part numbers using the model & serial number using partsmart here at home. I called in the numbers and was told they have them. I drove 14 miles to get them. At the counter they looked different and I should have known but "assumed" they were correct. Nope! Another 14 mile drive to exchange them. Mark Lewis insisted I was given the right parts citing my part numbers provided. Tonight I rechecked and they were off by one part number. I was sold #****2 but the number(s) I provided were #****3. I've done this particular replacement about 60 or so times since 1973 and would have known the number by heart if it weren't for the fact the numbers have changed at least 3 times over the years. Had it been me on the other side of the counter and someone asked for the part with application, I would have walked back and pulled them from the bin w/o having to look up the part numbers. Now, instead of giving them my business and driving 11 miles out of my way, I'll probably just stay local, a 3 mile drive. Also, in the past, I've had to order parts from Lewis and usually had to wait a week or so. When I ran my store(s) it was no more than 2 days. Some customers were amazed when I called them up within 20 hours of when they came in or called because if and when I'd order them before 3pm I'd have them by 11am the next day. Of course I'd usually have a big enough order ready as busy as I was. Mark Lewis is a great man but when I know I'm right and the person who took my phone order was wrong, there should have been an apology but Mark insisted I was wrong and gave the right number for the wrong parts. After forty three years in the small engine repair business, I have a clue. Others? Not so much. read more
