Lewisburg Haunted Cave is always an amazing time! The atmosphere alone is spooky. The last 2 years they have done a special flashlight tour for younger kids to see the cave. There are no actors scaring them; but they get to experience the animatronics. They had workers lined up along the way to pass out candy and answer any questions about the cave. My daughter is still a little nervous about haunted houses, so this perfect for her. I have gone to the cave for years during their spooky time and it's always amazing. This was hands down THE BEST HAUNTED ATTRACTION IVE EVER BEEN TO (and ive been to MANY)!! Definitely worth the 3.5 hour drive. It's such a cool experience walking down into the cave seeing the stalagmites on the wall. We got there right when it opened at 6 and had to wait maybe 10 minutes to enter. Immediately I was intrigued with the amount of effort that was put into the decorations, props, animatronics, lights, spider webs, actors, mazes... EVERYTHING about this haunted cave blew my mind! Visited this event tonight! It is opening night!We had a blast! It's definitely scary! I don't want to spoil it for anyone, but you can get lost. Definitely wear shoes with good footing. Giving shoes will be best. The animatronics are spectacular! You WILL BE TOUCHED! YOU WILL GET WET! Only do this for if you really enjoy being scared cuz there's no refunds. I highly recommend buying your tickets online early and getting there about 30 minutes before they open as the lines tend to get very long very quickly. I travel all over the United States to experience haunted attractions and Lewisburg Haunted Cave is on of my new favorite haunts. It's a perfect balance of "fun fear" meets "real fear". I usually barely even flinch at some of the best jump scares in most haunted attractions. There were moments I legitimately screamed out of terror here followed by a release of laughter in a way I haven't done in years. This was about an hour experience because we didn't get lost. It can take longer. It is dark and the ground is uneven. Please wear sturdy shoes that you won't care about getting dirty. I wouldn't recommend this for young children or anyone with health issues that could be aggravated by stress. I can't believe this attraction is ONLY $17!!!! (Cash only) I've paid more than that for parking at Haunts on the west coast. Insane value for the price. It is an impressive combination of genuinely creepy atmosphere, effective actors, awe inspiring animatronics, realistic sound effects, and physical and mental stimulation that attacks all of your senses. The decorations were awesome and I enjoyed the in cave experience. MOST of the actors were awesome, My group had a bad experience with one of the actresses by the bus area she noted that my group was moving so slow and I was like well some of us are unbalanced cause it's dark and we're a little bigger so it takes a minute. She proceeded to tell us that there was no place for big people here and that I needed to lose weight. Listen I know I'm big and have been big for my whole life. But that was rude and extremely unprofessional maybe they should have a talk with their employees on how to speak to guests. All of the other actors/actresses were awesome though I want to make that very very clear that this was the only rude experience! I will say the maze parts were a little too confusing and had groups running into eachother which kind of ruined the immersion. All in all not a horrible experience read more

One of the best Halloween attractions in the area (and there's some STIFF competition, no pun intended!!) Get here early, wear shoes with good traction, and prepare for a hike (nothing too strenuous, but going down the hill into the cave is SLIPPERY and going up is... @#$%* quite a workout!!! This is a 45 minute plus walk through some incredibly imaginative, well-done chills and thrills. Not for the squeamish, nor really young kids (I'd say maybe 10 y.o. or older, but you know your kid...) A bit pricey ($17.00 per adult, fall 2016) but worth it, in my opinion!! Holy freaking Satan, Batman! The Batcave has been infiltrated! Forget anything about haunted houses you know! Heck, forget any haunted house you've ever been to for that matter! I can attest to Lewisburg Haunted Cave being Ohio's number 1 haunt according to Ohio Valley. This place almost doesn't have words to describe it! But I'm going to try anyways. You start off descending 100 ft into the cave with the lights flickering and shorting out on you while you wait your turn to climb down into the depths of Hell itself. Rickety bridges guide you over underground lakes as demented souls pop in and out of nowhere. You walk through forests and graveyards and walk between moving walls to ultimately make a sacrifice to be able to proceed on your journey... if you're lucky... And then the demented come out to play as you attempt to make your way through 3 caverns of chain-link and strobe maze... never knowing if your coming or going or if you've seen the same people 17 different times. Warning: this is the first of 2 places where you'll most likely spend the majority of your time. When you finally (if you do) make it out, you are bombard by your own senses. You hear drums and cars echoing off of near pitch blackness as you try not to stray off the path and get lost in the 50+ miles of tunnels-even though at this point you're pretty sure that's already happened. And you finally come to Satan himself in his throne of fire and gives you multiple choices on where to wander to next. This would be part 2 of your time consumption. Once you find the path that doesn't lead you back to the devil, his trickery leads you to even more choices!! I will at least give you a small hint: to always check out a room entirely when you enter it before deciding which way to proceed next. The demons come out in all the glory and deamonness as you try to make your way out. Some of which are truly an amazing site. And just when you think you will never see the light of day again, along with experiencing mass amounts of deja vu, you realize there really is a light at the end of the tunnel! I am a person that absolutely loves haunted house, even though most don't scare me thanks to years working in a haunt, but this one truly got to me. This isn't as much a Boo scary as it is a total mind freak scary. All of your senses are tested here and its just crazy! But definitely at the top of my list, as it should be yours! They also have a historical mine ride done by the historical society with proceeds going directly to the society. This is not a scary wagon ride. They tell you about the history of the mine. It is kinda neat to do... but the pull for this attraction? *shudders* the bats. Here you get up close and personal with the sleeping/hibernating bats hanging literally a foot or 2 above your head or on the walls across from you. Neat but freaky! Man, don't take your 3 and 1/2 year old to this. They are not supposed to be held over insurance issues, and they do try to enforce it. Luckily, my little man is a trooper and he said it was fun when it was all said and done.. but there were a few instances he was genuinely terrified, and it made me feel like a bad parent for bringing him there. I honestly had no idea it would have a maze that you can get lost in.. it has a dark theme to the whole haunt.. maybe a bit too dark for any children 10 or under. I am glad he got the experience. The chainsaws and loud noises were what got him the most. The animatronics were awesome.. there is something to see around every turn and many different obstacles to overcome. It takes a bit of guess work and logical thinking to get through it. Overall, for Adults. This is a 5 star experience.. but since I brought my 3 year old, not knowing he would get the pants scared off of him, I give my Overall experience a 4. It's a good thing he is tough as nails! He walked 3/4 of the cave holding my hand. I had to carry him through the madness of the maze at the end. I think we will go back and try the tractor ride out to the mines. That seems more suitable than the World's longest haunted cave that was voted best in the nation only 5 years ago! read more

Best. Haunted. House. EVER. I am into haunted houses like nobodies business and I can tell you this one is the only one I've found that can make me flinch. Not only flinch, it downright gives me the heebie jeebies. But that's the reason we go right? We all go to these places and give them our hard earned cash so they will scare the pants off us. Yep, makes perfect sense to me too. Picture this.. you are driving into the middle of nowhere to a blip on your GPS, (If your GPS will even pick up the address..) and after driving for what seems like forever into an area that could put the setting to the Deliverance movie to shame, you finally see a sign that is handwritten with a black marker.. "Lewisburg Haunted Cave" with an arrow. You follow that arrow down some windy and twisty roads.. A friend could even start a horror story here with, "It was a dark and spoooky night," and no one would think anything different. Once you arrive, you are directed to a gravel parking lot that has roped off rows. You find a spot and head over to the festivities. As of the past few years I've noticed they've upped the entertainment. There is a band playing, booths with candy bars and other assortments and then the beloved kettle corn/apple cider booth that warms you right to the core on those chilly October nights. Once you've had your fill, you walk to the ticket booth and begin your descent into the cave. It goes underground about 40 ft and is definitely not for the faint of heart. True to cave style, the ceiling drips so it causes the hill to be muddy and slick. Make sure you bust out your old pair of comfy shoes for this trek. The survivors from the haunt walk up on the opposite side of this same treacherous hill and you can hear quips and stories of their experiences before you arrive at your destination. Once you reach the bottom of the hill you are met with a guide who explains the rules. They send everyone in small groups and you're on your way, and it's pitch black... and you're walking over water on a rickety bridge.... awesome. At first the only sounds that are heard are the pounding of your heartbeat in your ears, and the water lapping at the bridge below your feet. You know something is coming, but you don't know what. The anticipation builds, and then.... Well.. I won't tell you all the details, but I will tell you that this haunt is worth it's weight in gold. It will usually take you at least an hour to an hour and a half to get through and it's not your typical scarefest. You will leave with a smile on your face, mud on your shoes and a quicker heartbeat. If you aren't into scary and were dragged along by some not so nice friends, then no worries.. they also have a hayride on the other side that talks about the history of the caves. You still go underground, but nothing jumps out to scare you...except the bats. ;) If you've never gone you're missing out and I feel like your life won't be complete until you check this attraction out. If you don't go I'll run after you with a chainsaw.. with no chain of course. But you won't know that at first.. so there! :) read more

Other than Kings Island's annual Halloween Haunt, I have not been to a haunted/scary attraction in quite some time, but I had the opportunity to check this place out with some friends on Saturday 10/5. As soon as I learned the location (west of Dayton on I-70) I wondered if the long drive was actually going to be worth it. The answer to that question my friends, is a resounding YES. You descend from the top of the hill to the cave itself, a good 100ft or so below. It makes for a steep walk up or steep walk down. Not recommended for those with access or mobility problems, and it proved troublesome for a couple people as well as there was a steady shower while I was there. Bring an extra pair of shoes if it's muddy like it was last night. The attraction itself? Absolutely amazing. Animatronics, pyrotechnics, scareactors, fire, water, fog, lighting...you name it, this place had it. In terms of quality, it definitely ranked up there with the mazes at Kings Island. If this is a family run thing, they have a winner on their hands. I was blown away by the quality of their production. The price to experience this one of a kind attraction? $16! Definitely worth every penny. It took us an hour to get through, start to finish, and this was with the 2 mazes, which can be tricky to navigate. But with persistence and good memory, you'll find your way in no time. Great execution all around. Great concept. Great location. I definitely would recommend this attraction to those looking for a good thrill this Halloween season! read more

This place is AWESOME. Went tonight with my sis and bro-in-law, and we were all super impressed. For starters, I'm from the Metro Detroit area and just went to Erebus not too long ago, which was $30. Lewisburg Haunted Cave is much longer, and oh yeah IN AN UNDERGROUND CAVE THAT USED TO BE AN ACTUAL MINE, and only cost $22. I think the price is great for the value of the experience alone. It did everything you'd want from a haunted house, but you ALSO GET TO BE IN AN UNDERGROUND CAVE. No pics to post as photos aren't allowed in the cave, but I wish I could go on a daytime tour just to explore. It was so neat in there. The special effects of the haunted house were cool and all, but I was blown away by all the cave-i-ness. Dress warm, prepare to deal with porta-potties, expect a long wait in line that's worth it, TAKE CASH FOR YOUR TICKETS (they also sold snacks and shirts and things, and offered a hayride, but yeah you need cash), and don't forget- there are living bats in this cave to be respectful of as they're endangered. Poor little cuties. Just know that the employees are there to help if one decided to land on your head. All in all, this place rocks. If you're into haunted houses, I definitely recommend the road trip out to Lewisburg Haunted Cave. Warm up by the bonfire and enjoy the underground hike in the darkness! *P.S: The haunters working in the cave are allowed to touch and grab you. read more

Best haunted house ever! Hardworking cast and crew, great scares, and if you need to get out because of either emergency or it's too scary someone will assist you in getting out quickly. Be sure to wear boots or tennis shoes as it is slippery and rough down there, plus it's a bit of a hike being about a mile long. Every year they are amazing and scare a lot of people. Last year they made people pee themselves, trip on their own feet, and run screaming. So when they say it's scary, it really is. Love them and I wish I hadn't moved or I'd for sure be back again this year. read more

So much fun! This did scare me quite a bit. I was surprised with how long it lasted (about 45min), so it's well worth the only $16. You can print off a $1 off coupon from their website. Also make sure to wear some shoes you don't mind to get a little muddy.. It's in a damp cave! LoL I would also recommend to get there before 9p because the line will get realllllllly long. Walking slowly in complete darkness deep under ground. Not know what is going to happen next. Your trapped no way out but going forward into the unknown. Flashing lights and bursts of fire blind you so you can't see what is creeping up to attack. Some how you have wondered into the pits of hell. Maybe if you are lucky the demons will make a deal to let you navigate a maze to get out. This is the best haunt that there is. It has the best location for one. In a deep old abandoned mine. Hundreds of miles of tunnels in complete darkness. They only use about a mile of it the rest is off limits. you want to stay on the path and not wonder off because it is so easy to get lost. Live bats do live in the cave but try to stay away from the people but they do sometimes flyby. Tight spaces in spots make it hard to get through and claustrophobic. The special effects and actors do the rest to scare the crap out of the people who dare to enter. read more

My wife and I live in Loveland, OH and drove about an hour and a half to get to this haunted cave and it was definitely worth the drive and the money!!! Only $17 which is well worth the price because the cave lasted about 45 minutes. They do touch you, lots of animatronics and great scenes!! Very loud noises at points and jump scares!! The environment is very authentic due to the real life cave scenery. It gets cold underground, so dress warm (even if it wasn't to cold out that day). We felt the temperature get colder as we traveled down the hill underground to enter the cave. They have food/drink stand and porter potty on site. Very long line when we arrived, but went at a steady pace. This is an attraction that impressed us enough to want to add this to the list of Halloween attractions that we visit every year. The cave is great. Positively the best haunt I've been too. They have a lot of stuff that no other haunt does, including a truck with a machine gun mounted to the back that actually drives and fires at you. Along with that the mazes are the best around you could easily be wandering around there for an hour or so with or with out the help of the monsters that are supposed to scare and misdirect you. If you haven't been, the cave is definitely worth the $16, its longer than most comparable haunts and cheaper. I go every year. read more

My wife and I experienced the 'Historic Mine Tour' portion of the Lewisburg Haunted Cave this past Friday , 10/13/17. We arrived shortly after the 7pm opening, purchased our tickets and got in line. There were already enough people in line to fill-up the first two wagons ahead of our ride. We stood in line approximately thirty to forty minutes. I believe there are just two wagons. One accomodates more people than the other. I believe the smaller version might have better seating. I was amazed at the number of parties in line behind us for the wagon ride. There were more folks opting for the mine tour than the Haunted Cave. The line wasn't any shorter when we returned from our thirty-five minute tour. Some of those folks would have to be standing in line for over an hour. The mine tour was interesting but any kid would be bored to death. Keep in mind; this is a mine tour. It is not a cave. The tour recounts the history of the outer quarry and the venture into tunnel mining for limestone. A large portion of your tour is spent in these tunnels. When you first enter the main tunnel, the wagon goes by side tunnels branching off either side. All we saw were brief glimpses from the guide's search light as we zipped by. Guides, I would advise slowing, even to a stop, at some of the side entrances so you get some idea/perspective of the depth/distance of the side tunnels. The tractor/wagon did make a stop in a central hub and one or two other brief stops. There are no bats. At night in October, they are all out doing what they do. It is also too early in the season for the wide variety of bats that hibernate there to do so. The parties in front and behind us in the wagon line had driven about an hour to experience the tour. The couple behind said the tour was something to do to get out of the house. After the tour, I would have to say there is no way I would advise waiting in line over an hour for the experience. Arrive before 7PM or shortly after or forget it. And parents, it is in the 50s in any underground cave or mine. Make sure everyone is wearing a jacket! read more

This is by far the best haunted attraction I've ever been to. It's a mile long, torturous trek through almost complete darkness. The worst part is knowing that the hired cast members can actually touch you. There were many elements I had never seen used in a haunted house. This place is absolutely amazing! The line moves fast so you don't even realize how long you are standing in line. The jump scares are perfect. They have a great mix of actors and animatronics. The best part is the maze and how screwed up you feel trying to get out of it and it is disorienting. The guys in the maze yell in your face and show you the wrong directions to turn you around. I would not take kids through this attraction due to the length and the words that some actors use. The worst part of the whole cave is the steep, slippery and muddy hill you have to walk up to leave. I would go every weekend! Oh and they will touch you in the cave. read more

I think it deserve a little less then four stars but I rounded what I thought up.I've been here three different years and this last experience was this year on a Friday and it seem like c crew was working. We were disappointed with it because there wasn't much that was unexpected to scare you. A lot of expensive Halloween decorations, that were awesome, of course the cave it self is the best part. I drove an hour and a half to get to this and am not disappointed . I had a great time screamed and then laughed so hard my tummy hurt . I highly recommend this haunted cave and the wagon ride also . It took us a good 45 minutes to go through this and the very long line went super fast . The monsters do touch you and chase you in this one . Awesome time .I will be going back sometime. read more

Has been a long time since I've been to a haunted house, but as I remember them they're in some old house that takes maybe 15-20 minutes to walk through, this is not your traditional haunted house! Unfortunately, you'll have to wait until next season to check it out but make sure you add it to your to-do list! My wife and I went on the Friday night before Halloween and the line was massive (about an hour wait), but really moved pretty quickly given the length. It's very odd descending down about 60 feet into the mouth of this old mine, not knowing what to expect. First of all, make sure you wear shoes and clothes that you don't mind getting muddy and dirty, keep in mind that this is a cave! The actors were all very good with all the chainsaws and props that you would expect, in the middle of the tour was the Devil himself, putting on a show with his underlings and making you choose various paths, all of which lead to confusion and more mazes and strobe lights. As a side note, the only part I did not like was that the maze was a little too long and the strobe lights were really annoying after a while, not scary, just really annoying. You descend though swamps, hospital rooms, labs, jails, forests, inflatable walls, school busses, over bridges, there's a little of everything down there! I think it all lasted about an hour and then the hike back out of the mine and up the really steep muddy hill to freedom, again, wear some old shoes! Be sure to check this place out next year, you won't be let down! read more

Best haunted attraction I've been to! I live in Batavia, OH and my friend and I met up with 2 other friends in Fairfield so we drove from their house. It was a little drive about an hour and a half or so altogether, but I must say, it was more than worth it, especially for only $16!!! The waiting line looked ridiculously long but we got to the ticket booth in about half an hour compared to over an hour at most haunted attractions. They also have a food booth and prices are very exceptional. BEWARE! THEY DO TOUCH YOU IN THE CAVE! That is what scared me the most, especially in the beginning going across the bridge, but I loved it! The technical aspects of the attraction blew me away. I've never seen anything like it before in an attraction like this. You are also in the cave for a little more than an hour. If you are deciding between Kings Island's Halloween Haunt or this, this would be your answer most definitely. This place is most definitely worth the money and the drive!! read more

So like everyone else, I drove a distance to get here (an hour). When I got there the line was long as expected and it moved fast so I was excited. There's a sign out front that says they can touch you, and what's more scary than that at a haunted attraction!? The lady "dressed up" in front of the ticket line that "looked scary" was I guess supposed to be scary? But when we weren't sure what to do she chimed up in a sweet voice asking if we needed tickets.. what? No scary voice, no "scary line" of saying something; but her normal voice of "oh go get tickets through here!" And then.. once we got in, that was the awful part. There weren't many actors. I think I saw like 10 total the whole time; it's all animatronic crap and it wasn't scary. At more than five times in the cave, I was standing still for at least 3 minutes because it was so crampacked with people. It wasn't scary. They should maybe look into getting rid of some strobe lights, fake heads that "pop out" and get some real people that will actually yell in your face and scare you! Don't force everyone in at once because you want to be done by midnight. Also, I understand it's over at midnight but don't have the few actors you do, walking around with their bags and phones and be out of character anymore. Not that they were scary anyways, but they definitely loses the effect overall. read more
