When I bought my Lexus LS 500, I purchased the tire and wheel replacement insurance and was told if I scuff a wheel or damage a tire, they would be replaced, with no questions asked. When I scuffed a wheel, I was told that my wheels are chrome plated, so I don't get it replaced. I was lied to, and Metro Lexus didn't stand behind what I was promised for purchasing the tire and wheel insurance. Then, after taking a close look at all 4 wheels, I noticed that the chrome plating was blistering off all the wheels. I have been in the plating business for 38 years and it was obvious to me that something was not done correctly in the chrome plating process and the plating blistered. After bringing this to Management's attention, they said that they would talk to Lexus and see what they would do, but they really made it sound like they were not going to stand behind anything, telling me that it was a longshot. About a month or so later I received a phone call saying that they were going to do a onetime replacement of the wheels. Unfortunately, this was exactly one day after I traded it in for a BMW. My company always has 4 company cars, and I was loyal to the last auto dealer for over 30 years, until their service started going downhill. In those 30 years, I probably purchased about 25 to 30 vehicles, from that dealership and I probably would have done the same through Metro Lexus, if they hadn't chosen to be more worried about lowering their profit on one single deal than stand behind their employee's mistake and think about their reputation and a relationship that lasts longer than one vehicle. I would have been just as loyal to a new dealership, if they stood behind what their employees told the customers. As a business owner, I have stood behind some pretty big mistakes that my employees made as representatives of my company, and I always chose morals, reputation and long-term customer relations over losing money on a deal here and there. We all hate dealerships right ? I wouldn't be alone if I said we all get that feeling we are being ripped off but just not sure how ! I mean thats how it has always been. Having said that, I had a really pleasant experience with Metro Lexus. I primarily dealt with their Internet Sales Manager, Desiree Payne who was easy to work with. She was quick to respond and did not push for one sale over another and patiently answered all kinds of dumb questions I asked. And I ask a lot of questions! Friendly ,affable, and not pushy yet responsive! The best kind of sales person there is. With her assistance, I took care of the bulk of the paperwork online and that reduced the amount of time spent at the dealership. 5 stars for the buying experience. The finance paperwork was done online, and of course the finance guy Dan Weaver, a real friendly chap, sold me everything additional warranty under the sun and heck I probably needed most of the stuff. It wasn't a bad experience, at all and he did not even try to make me buy anything. He gave me his bit and let me decide. 4.5-5 stars/5 for him as well. The gentleman that went over all the controls and what not did an ok job. I say ok because a) His spiel seemed rehearsed and disinterested b) He did not even tell me about the remote start option which the sales manager told me about later. c) I wasn't told about the online apps and which ones to download which again the sales manager picked up the slack and told me about. d) You have a feature to lock the door if you have the keys on you by sliding your hands over the handle (best I can describe it) but this was glossed over as well. 2 stars for lack of an attention to detail which is not something I would expect. Front lobby. It was undergoing construction work, so they were a bit crammed at the time of this review November 2019. 2 stars for the coffee - Whatever burnt trash they are brewing needs to change ! Maybe it was an off batch, maybe it had been sitting on the pot for a while but really, pretty sad coffee. But its free coffee so i reckon thats that. Maybe they could go local, or whatever. Added perks - 4 free car washes a month for the entirety of the time you own the car. - Free shuttle to the airport. Also, no one told me about these, but I had to ask the sales manager about them and it was mentioned to me. I only knew about this as a friend had purchased a car from them 3 months ago and she had told me about it. I think that it was again the lack of an attention to detail and I would have expected that information to be relayed given its quite useful to know So whats the overall total. - I'd say 5 stars for the buying experience, 3 for the after purchase bit leaving it at 4 overall. Lexus is a top contender in the luxury car circles, which led me in this direction. I was looking for a SUV and their Nx200t F sport had my eyes punched out with the clamor of "aah-OOOO-Gah" in the background. Metro Lexus was the closest dealership to me and my sales guy told me it was the biggest in Ohio. Walking into the showroom was like walking to the admissions office at Harvard. Well beyond the sea of Lexus cars, picture wood panelling everywhere with furniture on par with the White House interior designers. They have a very spacious waiting area, lots of couches, a soft drink station and fresh brewed coffee (at least six different kinds i think), different flavored creamers and cookies. But I came specifically to test drive a 2016 (used) Nx200 I found on auto trader and made an appt to see it. So I came in on my scheduled appt and they first set me up to drive a brand new 2017 one, which was nice. It was very basic. It didn't have the F sport package that I wanted in the original car I wanted. In fact the sales guy talked it down. It was a great ride don't get me wrong, I wouldn't expect anything less from a Lexus product. I did feel like the test drive was abrupt. When we got back, I told him what I wanted to see and he still treated me like a puppy and was like ok here is the inventory of used cars I have. I kept civil and was like, I still want to see this specific one. He was like ok, well if you want I can run the numbers for you, or you can see or if you want you can test drive it. My salesman was Robert Sprosty. He was less than ice cold at the beginning of my encounter with him, in fact I felt like I was wasting his time until I actually filled out a credit application. He claimed he had been there 10 years and I would have expected a lot more professional respect than what I got. I did like the car I originally came to see in fact I even put a deposit down to secure it so that I could get my boyfriend to come check it out. The deposit held my car for 4 days so no one else could but it. When I ultimately decided not to purchase the car, I called him to let him know. I asked how to get my down payment back and he said, "honestly I don't know, this has never happened to me before". I thought really in 10 years you don't know how to give a customer their money back? He said he would find out and call me back to let me know and guess what, he never did. In case anyone is wondering, if you want to get your down payment down (assuming you used a credit card), you have to go back to the dealer in person for them to run your card again. Oh one other really cool perk about this place is if you want to go to the airport, they will totally pick you up so you don't have to drive their and pay daily fee. Not too shabby. read more

In March of 2024 I went to Metro Lexus with the full intention of buying a TX 350. I worked with Candice Thomas, a Sales Specialist, who provided me with all of the information that I needed to choose the specs for the vehicle I wanted. On April 1st, I called to let her know what I wanted to order. I was told she was not in that day so I left a voicemail. I received no return call so I called again on April 9th. I was told she was in training that day so I left another voicemail. I did not receive a call back. I called two additional times with no return call. My husband called and asked to speak to a manager and explained the scenario. He said someone will call us back that day. No return call was provided to us. I got a new lease 2 months ago and after 2 months I received a call from the finance dept there saying they didn't charge me properly for the down payment and I would owe another $1K. The general manager then called and said that it was simply a human error and I should pay for what I was obligated to pay per the contract. I have never heard of a car dealership not knowing how to charge a client properly. The finance department even said they would contact legal if I didn't comply. Brought my car for full detailing, even mentioned spots where they should be looking at to clean. dropped it on Monday, and got a call to pick up on Wednesday - when I arrived there, did the inspection all they did for 250, interior dust removed and outside went through the wash... it's a full detail... one of my friends puked in there and I cleaned up most of it myself. So they told me to leave it for another day. Came on Friday to pick up, nothing has changed much since. If I come and nothing is cleaned, will request for a refund. What a beautiful dealership and I was fortunate to be able to work with Matt Long. He was very good and easy to talk to. Honestly, if they had the car I was after I would have bought it that day from him. He was so easy to talk with and listed and helped guide my decision instead of insisting. He really is a salesman that you need to seek out because I strongly feel he would do you right. I came in to drive a Mercedes CLA250 and I just didn't connect with the car like I hoped. I actually stopped here directly after going to my Tuesday appointment at a closed permanently Airport Nissan. He brought the car around and let me drive. This is a big thing, I HATE when the salesman rides with you. You cannot be honest and I hate messing with things when the person is right there. I like to stop and get out and give it a good look and that doesn't happen with Mike or Steve is right there. Lorraine made me a amazing cup of coffee that I did not want until I saw that they had a full coffee bar. Not an instant machine but authentic real coffee. Well, I got a Latte. The bathrooms are as nice as the Intercontinental at the Cleveland Clinic. Amazing. There was a grand piano in the show room, as someone who has played for 13 years, I really wanted to hop on it but I had a car to drive. I did the test drive and after talked with Matt who listened to what I liked and did not like and didn't make me feel bad at all that I did not want the car and instead offered to help me find a better fit and discussed options with me and it helped so much. Very up front regarding the condition of the car and, as I was traveling from Columbus to Cleveland, very good in communicating with me regarding availability.This was a low mileage car several years and they were at the top of the NADA range. They worked with me and I ended up with what I felt is was a good deal. They also offered, after the sale, to work with my local dealer in Columbus to have a tire pressure monitor sensor replaced. colin is horrible at communicating, and he didn't respond to me when I inquired about the car originally, and told me there was a "power outage" so he could only text! HAHAHA! He would frequently not respond to me even though I was trying to buy a car from him. He is definitely new to his job, and runs to his higher ups to tattle and ask for help on strategies to lowball someone because he doesn't know how to by himself yet. The 2017 suburban they have on the lot shakes to all hell, which they admitted, but said there was no problem. There clearly is. There's also many scratches on it, like Patrick Star gave the driver directions to back into a spot. They wanted 33K for a piece of crap and wouldn't budge. I wanted to just drop off my car and find a quiet place to Do my homework but my service was not going to take long so there was no point in getting a loaner (which they offered). BC they are under remodeling/construction, space was very tight. Went to get a car. Was unable to get the car. That's not the problem though. I gave a deposit for the vehicle when the Salesman Terry (male) called me back 2 days later to discuss the decision. I asked for my deposit back. He told me my check was going in the mail. Joked about the check may come late due to snail mail. A week went by and no check. I called to check on the status and Terry( male) says the check is going in the mail today. Then lied and told me he would have never told me the check was going in the mail last week. We bought my husband's Lexus at Metro. Our salesman, Gary, was wonderful. He was so knowledgeable about cars and was one of the best salespeople we have ever dealt with. You could see that he actually cared about the customer. It is very unfortunate that the rest of the place does not run like this. We brought my Lexus in for service for an ignition problem. They called to tell me that there was an issue with the right-front pinion boot, and that it needed to be replaced ($629.63). After I approved this, I was called another time about my front brakes and rotors needing to be replaced (at a cost of $563.47). At this point, I told them not to replace them as it should have been found during the initial inspection. I ended up taking my car elsewhere for the brake job at half the cost. I realize that customers are paying higher prices for the overhead (loaner cars, waiting area, the coffee and cookies, etc.) but twice as much isn't a very competitive price, or worth the overhead. Another issue I had was regarding whether or not my tires had been rotated. I had asked them not to rotate the tires, which they told me they did not do, but the service report says that they did. So which is it? Was I charged? Do they still need to be rotated? I called Metro yesterday to talk to Gary about replacing my 2009 Lexus. The operator informed me that he was no longer there. I'm not sure what happened, but they lost a wonderful knowledgeable salesperson, and the only person we would want to deal with at their establishment. I went in for an $84 oil change, but ended up paying over $1,300 to fix the damage they did to my car. I drove to Cleveland, 4.5 hours away from home. While there, a panel message appeared on my dash - "oil maintenance required." There was no oil light and no emergency. I could have waited until I got home, but decided to get my oil changed during my downtime before leaving CLE Friday. I called Metro Lexus and they scheduled an appointment the same day, Thursday. I took my vehicle in at 1 PM, left it with the service dept. and waited in the lobby. They finished around 3 pm. The guy taking my money, reviewed the inspection report with me. I was surprised at their recommendations, as I had absolutely no problems with my vehicle and, no lights were on, except my tire pressure gauge. My car is regularly serviced. They recommended that I: replace my shocks (which were totally blown, according to their report; replace my axle boots, which were leaking grease, per their report; and replace the driver belt, which was completely dried out, according to their report.) It didn't seem right, as my car, a very quiet hybrid, drove smoothly and displayed no issues, before I took it there. When I got in my vehicle, the front carpets still appeared dirty. Vacuuming is included with service. I requested that they re-vacuum the car. They vacuumed the car and I left. As soon as I pulled out of the Lexus driveway onto the street, I was immediately aware that my car didn't sound the same as when I dropped it off. It was making an unusually loud revving sound when I pushed the accelerator. I considered turning around and going back to Lexus, but thought that maybe the oil change gave my car that new revving sound. I convinced myself that the new noise and new feel of my vehicle was my imagination. I drove back to my hotel and parked the car the rest of the night. Friday morning, I left for my last appointment in Cleveland, only a few miles away, and only required driving city streets. I again heard the strange revving noise, on acceleration, but again convinced myself that it was my imagination because I had only gone in for a simple oil change. After my appointment, I got on the expressway and drove 4.5 hours home. The odd revving sound, that occurred whenever I accelerated, concerned me; but I put my car on cruise control, drove home and parked my car until Saturday afternoon, when I drove to a Lake about 64 miles from my house. As I drove to the lake, the revving noised continued, but got increasingly worse. I finally concluded that the sound, which started at Metro, was not my imagination and occurred during my service for an oil change. I called Metro, while driving to the Lake, and spoke to Dave in service. I explained the sound it was making and that I first noticed it as I exited Lexus. He suggested that something popped on my exhaust, due to rust, and that I should have turned around and taken it back to his dealership. I wondered why he would mention rust on my exhaust sight unseen. I hadn't even told him my name. There was no mention in the multi-inspection report about my exhaust, which made me wonder if he knew something happened to my car. Why would I return to a dealership that suggested questionable repairs to my vehicle, but mentioned absolutely nothing about an "allegedly rusted out exhaust pipe? If they broke my exhaust pipe, intentionally or unintentionally, what was the likelihood that they would admit it? I already had good reason to question their inspection report, because my car had recently been serviced, and those issues, if present, would have already been discovered. I made it to the Lake safely, but my car got louder as I drove. I parked it until I prepared to drive home late that night, an hour and a half away. I turned on my car and my engine light came on. I immediately re-parked my car and called my insurance company for a tow. I was stranded at the lake in a car that was serviced Thursday. I towed my car to Rivercenter Lexus, 64 miles away . Monday, Rivercenter sent a video inspection report detailing their findings. They said my exhaust pipe was broken. I asked what may've occurred at my oil change. She said it had rust on it and could've been broken during an inspection by a tech. I didn't tell her it happened at Metro because I wanted Rivercenter's independent inspection report and recorded findings BEFORE I called Metro again and BEFORE either dealership could alter their reports to match the other. That proved wise, because Rivercenter, whom Pete, Metro's VP, said he had a good relationship with, apparently tried to cover for Metro after Pete contacted them, although both dealership's reports contradict. Rivercenter checked each issue in detail that Metro advised me I needed to fix, BEFORE they knew about Metro. Metro recommended services for over $3,000 that Rivercenter said I didn't need. If Metro lied about needed repairs, why wouldn't they also lie about breaking my exhaust pipe? read more

I purchased a trim part for my navigation screen 6/14/2021. And payed the extra to be shipped next day. On 6/15/2021 I waited for half the day and the called Metro Lexus of Cleveland to find out what was going on with the next day delivery. Spoke with Mike whom works in parts. Mike told me I had entered wrong information so that order had to be canceled and reordered. So to mention I never received a call or anything. So reordered the part. Confirm with Mike by calling. Mike said he would get it out next day and Mike did. But only to be shipped to the wrong address on 6/21/2021! I called back that day and left a message. Mike apologized and told me that he(Mike) made a mistake. And would send another part to me. I called back on 6/22/2021!and spoke with Mike and told him to cancel the shipment cause I found what I needed after searching all day in one of the local junkyards. Mike told me he would refund me back what I payed for his mistake and inconvenience. Guess what! Almost a week later haven't heard from Mike nor seen my refund to my account! Phillip C, I do not care to ameliorate the many issues. I chose not to go to metro lexus based on many instances, not just one. I guarantee you, nothing will change since all these practices have been going on for many many years now. And based on your replies to other customers complaining on yelp, I'm glad I didn't respond to you. I love how the only positive review on yelp for Metro Lexus was from Alan C, who is an employee at Metro Lexus. I can care less about looking at a grand piano when I'm getting my car serviced. And the majority of Lexus dealers have Starbucks coffee, by the way. Unfortunately, when companies like this get exposed online for price gouging, and complete non-professionalism, then they pretend to care. But, if you voice the concerns in person or on the phone, it's another story. For all you Lexus owners, you should really compare prices to Classic Lexus, or other Lexus dealers. A simple oil change was almost $50 more at Metro Lexus. The same toyota oil filter is $8 more than anywhere else...talk about price gouging. And let's just say, if I really did fully tell you my horror stories of Metro Lexus, I'm sure an employee there would be fired for what they said to me. It was that bad, and it was quite recent.
