He was easy to deal with and went out of his way to make sure we knew what was happening and to make sure we were comfortable and satisfied with the sale. Next came Michael, the finance guy. This is usually the brutal part of car buying...pressure to add extras, terms that are threatening, and other issues that leave you intimidated. Not so with Michael and Lexus of Melbourne. The process was fast, pleasant, and easy...no queasy feelings as paperwork explained and signed. I have been returning frequently to take advantage of their complimentary car washes, and this week, returned to have Chris, another sales guy, sit with me in the car, to once again explain the technology (that had already been explained by Keith in great detail). This Lexus RX350 is a used car that I purchased in 2010 from JM Lexus dealership in Fort Lauderdale. It was manufactured in 2008. I really liked this car at the time, so I researched online for nearly two months and took notes for comparison. Ultimately, Lexus dealer offered the best value for money, so I bought this car. Later, I noticed that there was some paint chipping on one side mirror. Since it was within the warranty period, I had it repaired at a Lexus dealer in Melbourne, and this was entirely free of charge. During this time, they also provided me with a replacement vehicle. Later on, there were cracks in the car's interior, and I went to the Melbourne Lexus dealer. They told me the cost would be very high and suggested I go to a smaller auto repair shop. Later, I discovered that Lexus had issued a recall for this issue, meaning many cars from this batch had similar problems. We contacted the Melbourne Lexus Dealer again, but they said the recall period had ended. When we asked why we weren't notified, they said it was because we didn't have maintenance done at their dealership. My questions are: 1. When I purchased the vehicle, I didn't sign any contract requiring maintenance at a Lexus dealer. 2. Lexus covers all the costs for recalls, so why didn't the Melbourne Lexus dealer or JM Lexus notify me? Lexus is a high-end brand under Toyota, but the behavior of Lexus dealerships in this matter is very disappointing and, some might say, unacceptable. At the time, my English proficiency and understanding of the law were not very good, but I have since gained a better understanding through online research, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic, and learned about my legal rights. The following four pictures include one from 2011 and the other three show the current severe condition of the interior cracks. This car has been through two major accidents, but the engine and major components are still functioning properly. What I love most about this car is its built-in CD changer that can hold six CDs at once, which was a standout feature at the time. Additionally, the car's exterior design is very sleek, and the streamlined headlights are beautifully designed. If this were to happen in Japan, the person in charge at Lexus would personally apologize and ensure the car is repaired. This is because I am very familiar with the Japanese work ethic. Keith is the gentleman who helped me with my decision to purchase a Lexus. I hate to say dealer, bc it comes with such negative connotations. Keith was not pushy whatsoever! He listened to my wish list, answered my questions, and was very informative. He truly was a guide to my decision making. Once my decision was made, he then jumped into action in making me a Lexus owner. The financial part of the process was, again, a positive experience. Mandy, guided and informed me of the various extended warranty options. She was not at all pushy, but was very pleasant and friendly. I experienced the worst customer service in my life at Lexus of Melbourne. Trying to buy a currently leased vehicle at the end of the lease period, phone calls went unreturned, pay off seemed like a bait and switch scam, "the process," as it was referred to, was anything but a "process." We were given three different costs ($$$) to finalize the purchase, all we were looking for was the bottom line cost to purchase the vehicle. The finance individual talked down to us with a smugness I had not experienced in many years. We needed the bottom line cost to do a wire transfer to buy the vehicle but could not get a straight answer; then, when we finally finished at the dealership and pulled into the driveway at the house, we received a call telling us a wire transfer could not be done because the person paying off the vehicle (son) was not buying the car (his father) and the FBI did not allow because it could be a money laundering or drug money related...really? Absurdly Overpriced-The first offer they made me was $10k over sticker as a "market adjustment" and then cut it to $5k over sticker as a bargain. I previously took my leased RX350 to Lexus of Melbourne for service and always had a good experience. But trying to buyout the lease at the end of the term was miserable. They quoted me multiple excessive - and likely illegal - fees to complete the transaction, and insisted I would have to finance for at least 6 months (I wanted to pay cash). Once I challenged the fees they stopped taking my calls or responding to my emails. I was able to complete the buyout through JM Lexus in Margate in a quick, easy, pleasant and reasonable transaction. Worth a 2 1/2 hour drive in torrential rain! I will never buy a vehicle at Lexus of Melbourne, and even though my prior service experience there was good, I will not return. read more

Went to them for service, my hands free calling has not been working well almost since I bought the car, I complain about it every time I go for service, every time they do software update and tell me it is fixed and it works for about an hour and goes back to same problem, it has been going now for over 6 months, but today it got even more fun, apparently during last service they put a switch for windshield washer in a wrong position so now no matter what I do my front windshield doesn't get any fluid but the back windshield gets double amount. When I called the person taking a call was not nice or helpful at all, I think I had better service on Honda dealership than on this Lexus dealership, I am truly disappointed, I think my next car will not be a Lexus. read more

Inconsiderate new Service Manager. Ruben approached me when picking up my car the other day and without even a greeting advised me with a statement that: "Mr, X I am the new Service Manager" and went on to say my previous agreement (in writing) with the previous Service Manager (who retired) was now void. Interesting timing in that I was about to go to the parts counter after reparking my SUV to purchase a new battery and then schedule a $2000~ TSB repair before leaving their dealership. When I tried to explain my dilemma, he waved his hand rudely to cut me off and just repeated again: "I'm the new Service Manager now" three times. So, I stopped attempting to engage him after attempt three and left. He wasn't in listening mode at all. My wife left the salesman's card and new Lexus 2024 SUV brochure we obtained a few minutes earlier on the floor. Seems he cost just his dealership a parts sale now, perhaps a few thousand dollars in work later, future maintenance services and a maybe a new car sale later this year just because of his misconceptions? I now live across the street (moving here after I had bought my 2018 Lexus) and at least 10%~20% of my neighbors here in a private country club nearby have/drive a Lexus. We chat with each other daily and it has been mentioned the service department while efficient, sure isn't friendly anymore. Now this incident will be talked about. It's a nice facility too with workers everywhere but none seem to smile or enjoy their work except a few I know personally and have asked for by name. Now, I'm going to tell my neighbors about the two Toyota dealers within 10-15 minutes in each direction that WANT our service business and solicit us actively. This dealer pretty much stopped contact with customers by email and postal mail during Covid (I know many went elsewhere for service) and is busy again but, only recently restarted mailings to reengage service customers. It's a shame "Darren", I mean Ruben didn't ASK questions of me first BEFORE assuming something otherwise and losing a customer. I'd rather buy and spend money locally. Now having his new reputation spread throughout our community of 800~ homes because his approach instead of being sales oriented and proactive to build his business was authoritarian and to demonstrate power should have been: "Hello Sir, I have a couple questions can we talk in private?" I spent almost a lifetime and was Very Successful in sales, sales training AND follow-up service and know how to build a business, goodwill and customer base. Apparently, he never was trained to do so or had a preconceived attitude. The car business is tough, why do managers want to make it tougher? It's easier to be "open and in a asking mode" vice "closed minded and telling". If he was That $70K~ next car sale would certainly be worth it! I'd recommend getting service for your Lexus elsewhere if you feel treated the same. What cost them $5~ today really could generate thousands of dollars later and certainly not spread a bad reputation - which always moves faster than good service. read more

Our sales experience was five star with Matt Pika, who I have to recommend. He was professional, chill, and knew his stuff about the cars. My experience with the service department, however, took longer than expected, and I had to go find the service technician to get answers on the car weended up turning in for the newer car that we ended up purchasing through Matt. He also didn't follow through on repair costs. The finance guy was great, too, and didn't do the hard sell, which we appreciated. Look up Matt Pica when you go! This is the worst lexus dealer that I have been to. I ended up buying my Lexus RC F Sport from an out of town dealer because these guys suck to deal with. When I scheduled my 5k mi appointment the service agent told me that I could drop my car off first thing in the morning & they'd have a loaner ready for me so my day wouldn't be seriously interrupted. Well after I get their this morning, my day packed with meetings after dropping the car off, they tell me I have to wait for a couple of hours. This, after waiting 15 minutes to talk to someone. I seriously suspect these are the kind of people that deal differently with brown people. The guy I was talking to acted like I was trying to rip them off or something. My husband and I used USAA Auto Buying service to locate a pre-owned Lexus. We received a prompt response from Keith Croft who was helpful in scheduling a test drive. We met Shane, the assigned sales rep, at the dealership and test drove the vehicle. Shane was helpful and did not apply sales pressure. The next morning, we began negotiating a deal with Keith via text message. We agreed upon an out the door price, and I supplied a $1000.00 deposit over the phone. Keith explained we needed to come in to complete some paperwork, so the deal would be official. My husband and I agreed to come in and complete the paperwork when we got off work at 5:00. At 5:25, we received a call from Keith telling us the vehicle had been sold to someone else. Keith explained this was out of his control and was done by his management. read more

This dealership has a policy to charge customers an additional fee based on where they live. I was ready to buy a vehicle and willing to pay full MSRP since it was exactly what I wanted. They asked me where I lived and told me they only charge MSRP to Brevard County locals. I let them know that I work in Brevard County every day (that's where my company's office is), and I spend most of my money at Brevard County restaurants and stores. I have even donated to the Brevard United Way for the last 10 years. This did not matter, and I was not considered a "local" since my address was over the county line. Because of this they said I would have to pay an additional $5,000 market adjustment fee. I totally understand wanting to keep inventory available for the community they serve. But I am part of the local community, and it only fair that anyone who lives, works, or worships in Brevard County should be considered a local. Unfortunately, they would not remove the $5,000 additional charge so I couldn't get the vehicle. I will say the salesman I was working with, Larry, was very helpful and attentive when I was first asking about the vehicle so because of that I am rating 2 stars. read more

Went once and they cracked my mirror when they did the carwash at the end. I wish they never ran my car through their wash as I now have to find somewhere else to pay $500 to replace the entire mirror, They were supposed to call me and replace it and never did and then they stated they had no note of it and was not their fault. I called and left several voicemails with the service advisor who never called me back. When they cracked my mirror, I was the last customer of the day and they were all in a hurry to leave and never bothered to note it or call me back when I called and left messages about it. I work very long hours and do not have time to go chasing them down when they never call me back. They also say they will come and pick up your car and bring it to service and when I have left messages asking for this service they never called back either. Maybe because I live an hour away and they do not want to be bothered. Then I stupidly went back for an oil change in Feb, the day before I was going on a flight so I wanted it done before I drove 2 hours away to the Orlando oairport and mentioned the broken mirror again when I was they they never noted again and stated they would call me back. After I got back to my town over an hour away, oil was leaking all over the place and I was supposed to be driving to Orlando. I had to catch a flight and had to go to a local Toyota at the last minute who fixed it. Had to wait for hours at the Lexus and then at the local Toyota to kindly redid the bad oil change and got me to my flight on time. Thanks a lot to Toyota of Vero Beach. And then the Lexus service manager has the gall to tell me when I called to complain about the mirror that he immediately took care of the botched oil job! No he did not, Toyota of Vero Beach did that and got me to my flight in time! All he did was leave me a voicemail after the fact. They have my service now and I am about to post a 5 star review for them. I will never drive over an hour again to have Lexus of Melbourne break my mirror or not close caps properly and make oil leak all over the place! Toyota told me this bad service at the Lexus of Melbourne could have ruined my whole engine with their bad oil change. Thanks again Toyota for saving my engine. Lexus must be in too much of a hurry and just wants your money. Would give negative stars but this site will not allow it. Please note the bad review is only for the service department not the sales staff at Lexus of Melbourne. The sales staff was fine and I bought the Lexus from them a few years ago. What a refreshing experience! I live in Vero and have to travel to Viera to get my car serviced. However, they made it an excellent experience. They had a loaner ready for me and fixed everything several hours ahead of my expectations!!! Steve was very professional and courteous. My experience in Raleigh, NC was always good; until I spent a year in Naples, Fla and dealt with the Naples Lexus dealership! Horrible experience. Rude, very unorganized and they didn't even check to see I brought in a certified Lexus and tried to charge me for coveted services! Even after I gave him ALL info. I purchased my camaro from this dealership 3 months ago.  I put a deposit on the car for them to hold it so that I could work out details with my bank. After I signed papers for the car,  I asked for my deposit and Mr Mcgee stated I had to wait 7 to 10 business days to receive it.  It has been 3 months and I still have not received it.  I have left Mcgee 5 voice-mails regarding my cash deposit and he never got back with me. Unfair business practices. Picked out a beautiful car had financing arranged at a low rate and was ready to come up and get the car. The guy called me up and tells me the car got flooded and they can't sell it to me. Says they're going to have to take it to the auction. Funny thing about a Carfax though once you get it it's yours forever and any updates made for that car are shown as they happen. Turns out they didn't take it to auction at all. They must have found somebody that they could charge more money for and probably needed expensive financing and they sold it to them instead of me. Not the end of the world but the car was gorgeous and I really wanted it and I think it sucks that they lied to me like that. I have this all documented in email. Repeated trips and $$$ spent with the service dept and still the problem hasn't been resolved. The rear air bag suspension had/has a leak so it was recommended that it be replaced. We did and the problem is still there. The rear bags lose air and rides very rough. The last two times in they said they didn't see a problem so I left it with them. When left alone for a couple days the car will go all the way to the "low" level as indicated by the display inside. But despite it happening EVERY time at home all I can get from them is "we don't see a problem, looks fine to us". This isn't my every day driver so I've now lived with this so long that I want to get rid of it or try another dealer. Which means the $$$$ spent at Lexus of Melbourne would've been a complete waste. Extremely frustrating. The sad thing is I drove from Orlando because I had heard this was supposed to be a good dealer to work with. So far it hasn't been true.
