My husband and I went to the Middletown Lexus dealer to look at a Lexus. The person who greeted us was pleasant at first and showed us the newest Lexus and a couple of sedans. However, I was hoping to see other styles I've seen before, and they didn't make any effort to show us additional options or even check other dealerships for vehicles that could be shipped in. Instead, he pointed us to a Camaro with noticeable wear and tear on the driver's side door. It came across as if he assumed we couldn't afford a Lexus. It's pretty disappointing to be met with a sales representative who seems judgmental rather than genuinely helpful. read more

I recently visited to view a vehicle and reached an agreement on the price with the sales manager, Ahmed (Ed) Khaffaf. After settling on the price, I waited for the paperwork to be prepared. When it did not arrive by the next day, I followed up and was informed that the price had increased, despite our prior agreement. During this exchange, Ed mentioned that there were many other interested buyers coming to see the car. Given that it was a holiday weekend and the vehicle had been on the lot for several months, this seemed like a tactic to pressure me into accepting a higher price. Additionally, Ed was sending emails from multiple employee accounts--including Mark Feldman, Paul Blazeski, and Mory Ahmed--while still signing off as himself. This practice raised ethical concerns. Ultimately, I chose to purchase a vehicle from another dealer, as I felt they were honest and trustworthy--qualities that are important to me when deciding whom to do business with. read more

Less than satisfied with this Lexus Dealership. 3 years ago I first went to Lexus of Orange to have a major tune-up for my Lexus ES 350 and spent a small fortune ($2,999). Then they wanted to do other additional services for an additional $8000 to replace the $252.00 timing chain gasket and timing chain (because an alleged minor oil leak) and $1,000 for the passenger CV Axle (Right, Front), I declined service at that time. 20 days later while in South Florida , I had the vehicle looked at by the local Lexus dealer and they said there was no oil leak, the timing gasket was fine and replaced my CV Axle for $600. The next year I had an oil change with them, they mentioned the same CV Axle again. Nope, I got underneath and checked no grease or oil and no tear in the boot. Plus I have a TIS Techstream at home , and nothing came up on the report. Since then no real problems with the car, until the other day my Amplifier blew out, and now I have no audio. I called Lexus of Orange County (this dealer) to get the security pin for re-installation of the restored amp. United Radio (an authorized Lexus repair center) asked me to call the dealer to get the security pin. Lexus Orange, after describing the problem to the service person, bounced me around from department to department through their automated service for 30 minutes. Finally I got a live body and was told she didn't know how or couldn't transfer the call to the correct person because she only handled setting up appointments and I'd could leave her a number or call back. This is unacceptable service from a Lexus dealer. Worse it's the third time in three years I've had unsatisfactory service from this dealer. I love my Lexus, however, since Lithia Motors, Inc. owns all the Lexus dealers in my region, guess I need to go to Florida or Michigan again to get the service Lexus is supposed to provide. I initially thought it was a one-off or an only me situation until I looked at their Better Business Bureau Report which is - wait for it - Rating D-. read more

Stay away from their service department at all costs. 0 stars would be too high a grade. My "experiences" with them transcends at least 2 ownerships and none of them were good. 1. Complimentary oil change. Upon leaving, all 4 tires were inflated to 50 psi (s/b 36) went back and they took care of the issue. Fast forward to the next oil change (I usually do the oil changes myself). Upon removing the oil filter, I discovered that the filter that they installed was the wrong size, it was too small. 2. Called twice looking for an estimate on some maintenance work. Was told each time that a service advisor would call back, they never called. Had the work done locally. 3. Local shop alerted me to an oil leak coming from the pinion seal in the rear differential. They suggested that I take it to a transmission shop or the dealer, as they couldn't do the work. I made the mistake of having this place do the work. Service dude suggested replacing all 3 rear diff seals as the extra cost isn't that much. Sounded logical. $2100 later, the job was done. Fast forward a couple of months to my NYS inspection. Mechanic shows me that both rear axle boots next to the diff were leaking oil. Lexus had replaced the diff axle seals along with the pinion seal. Went back and told them that I blamed them for the new problems, as I'm certain that their "factory trained technicians" would have noticed the new oil leaks when they did the seal replace. They kept my car for about a week (yes, I had a loaner) and to their credit, say they replaced both axles at no cost to me (I haven't been under the car yet to verify). I never got a straight answer as to how they managed to bugger the axle boots. Their "factory trained technicians" give grease monkeys a bad name. Needless to say, the experience that I experienced wasn't the experience that I was expecting to experience. read more

They are dishonest and disingenuous. It would be best for anyone interested in purchasing a vehicle to look elsewhere. I traded in my car less than 30 days ago and purchased a new car. I have been to the dealership 3 times since the purchase. The first issue is that they rushed the car buying process. This likely lead to the reason for this post. I received a financing offer in the mail from one of the companies the dealership contacted during the purchasing process. This offer is roughly $200 less, per month, than the offer they told me was the "best" and most favorable. When I brought the letter to the dealership, which was mailed by the company, they told me that the company rejected my application. - Not the company that I spoke to on the phone yesterday. Not the company that directed me to come into the dealership to accept the offer. Not this company! I do not know why I would be dealt with as though I am intellectually inept, but that is how I have been dealt with at the Lexus of Orange County. Please stay away. Do not allow your experience to mirror mine. I wish you luck in your car buying experience. read more

Update 6/12/23: I followed up with regards to the response from Lexus to call them because they couldn't identify me in their system. I Called last week left a message for David Lewis and still haven't received a call back. The generic responses from Lexus are a joke. Oh and I went back to the text message I left my sales person about my dissatisfaction and it shows he read my message but never even acknowledged that he received it. I'm currently leasing my vehicle and my review is based on my experience this far. The first thing is I went to get my car serviced in March and learned, while trying to check in that my sales person never made my service appointment. This was frustrating and frankly upsetting because he offered to make the appointment and I even confirmed with him via text and he told me I was all set. The day of I arrived to learn that nothing was scheduled and was told that " the sales department does this all the time". Honestly, he was better off not offering as I could've done this myself. The second thing I wanted to share is my disappointment in the time and lack of response from the manager Mike J. I called him and still have not heard back. The last thing is the misleading information I was provided about extra warranty care. Don't even bother purchasing any, it's not worth it and I wish I hadn't paid the extra money for it. At this time I'm not happy with the service and my lease is up in 2024. I was really looking forward to getting a new vehicle, or rather purchasing a new vehicle but at this rate it doesn't seem to be in my best interest. read more

I have had an issue that required the help of the finance manager at this location. It has been days where I have left a total of three messages and not a call back. I am sure that if I contacted the sales manager, I would have heard back immediately since it would potentially be for a sale. This behavior is unacceptable. I leased a vehicle from this dealer in 2023 and was OK with the transaction overall. However, leaving three messages for a manager and not hearing back from anyone, in my opinion, is not the way to treat someone who may want to, at some point purchase another vehicle from you. I will call Lexus Financial Services tomorrow and hopefully will be able to get someone on the line. Judging from my experience, I doubt very highly that I would do business with this dealer in the future, nor would I recommend anyone that I know do business with them either. read more

I hesitated writing this review but was hounded by the dealer to write a review after my purchase. I purchased a pre-owned Mini from the dealer in May of 2024. I live in Bergen County, NJ so I made the hour trip to see the Mini. My salesman didn't know much about the car, since he sells Lexus, which is understandable. I am a Mini enthusiast, so showing him the features and the fun was enjoyable for me. When we test drove the vehicle, the car has ZERO gas in it, so most of my test drive was spent searching for a gas station. Alas, everything seemed fine and I planned on purchasing the vehicle after the first visit. My sales guy kept in touch and a few weeks later we agreed on a price and I went back up to the dealer to put a deposit on it, even bringing my family along to look at another car on their lot. After we discussed the deposit, the dealer made an "exception" to allow them to hold the vehicle for $500. They noted that it's usually $1000, since it's a preowned, which seems wrong. The switching on me began there. On the drive home, the salesman contacted me asking me if I took the vehicle's key, which I had prominently placed on the salesman's desk upon leaving the dealer. Something didn't seem right, but I let it go and continued with the purchase. As I tried to find the best financing for the vehicle, the dealer contacted me a few times telling me that there was additional interest on the car and that I need to take delivery soon, otherwise they'd sell it to another party. When I went to the dealer to take delivery, things had changed dramatically. I went with everything they requested, including my check and proof of insurance. What was provided to me was an ATTROCIOUS experience. I was told there was only one key for this vehicle, which wasn't indicated to me prior to the purchase. It was not noted on the website nor told to me the first two times I viewed the vehicle. When we spoke to the Used Car Manager, he indicated that it was a used car and that it's not the dealers fault. He was immensely condescending and downright rude to both my mother and me. Having remarks like "well, don't lose the key" while making zero effort to find a remedy for this situation. We got to a point where voices were raised and the entire transaction made me sick to my stomach and emotional. This wasn't the way I wanted to purchase a car. The excitement was zapped away as I, and my mother, were treated like second-class citizens because we were purchasing a used car. I wanted to walk out but I loved the car and didn't want to give it up. Once the general manager got involved, we came to a resolution and I went forward with the purchase still hesitant. After all was said and done, I drove away with the car. The finance manager was lovely and handled everything quickly. The salesman did not see me off and went to work with another customer, which left another bad taste in my mouth. I am still working with the dealer to get a 2nd key. I am very excited to be done with any and all contact I must have with this dealer. When it comes to the Used Car Manager, I will allow Lexus corporate to handle him, as we have filed a complaint and obtained a case manager with these concerns. I do find it funny that this preowned car is missing a 2nd key, an owners manual and other documents. Isn't it his responsibility to inspect and offer preowned and used vehicles up to certain standards, especially within a Lexus dealer? Also make sure that all parties are made to feel welcomed, no matter what you're buying? I do believe it was him alone that made this experience so abysmal. read more

Lexus of Orange County sold me a 2019 Mercedes Benz C 300 on 10/08/2022 and it's exactly 8 months today 06/08/2023 and they have not registered the car nor given me number plates. I checked with the bank who financed the transaction and they have not received the title to perfect it. It has been one excuse after the other and now they have run out of excuses so when I call, nobody picks up my call, my call will be in line waiting to answered for long periods of time but never gets answered, while waiting to be answered, I would use a different number to call and two rings it get answered. I am making payments on the car loan but have driven it for a limited number of time This is simply unjust enrichment and in violation of consumer protection laws. They have enriched themselves by taking $35,000 from me but I am not benefiting from the car I purchased. The negligence of selling a car to me when there is a problem with the title is something that baffles me and I have spoken to almost every manager there and still no success. read more

I had come in for an inspection. The day before I had gone to the Ramsey location for $650 worth of service my car needed to pass inspection, but i had to go to NY for an inspection. Upon arrival I was shown a picture of my power steering pipe (that apparently was wet, but there was no evidence of liquid in my parking spot) and was told it would not pass inspection. The cost would be $600+ and the service person was ready to get me into a loaner. He must have noticed that my inspection was long overdue (had surgery, then covid) and thought I would say yes. Well, I declined and directed myself to another NYS inspection business and guess what? My vehicle passed with flying colors. So much for Lexus of Orange County. NEVER AGAIN!!! read more

I bought my Lexus in May, but returned to have someone connect my Navigation to my phone and set up the remote start. John acknowledged me upon entering the door and was kind and professional. He asked me what he could help me with and then went to get Terrel. He said that Terrel was the expert person to help me with my needs and he was correct. Terrel spent an hour trying everything he could to get the apps installed and overcome the issues with connecting my phone to them. He was patient, knowledgeable and personable. He was able to resolve my concerns without rushing me and making me feel like I was inconveniencing him. I made an agreement with Prestige Lexus of Middletown for the sale of a very high-end vehicle for an extremely low fixed price, despite having better offers. It was assured that the transaction would be seamless and quick as the dealership offered a written agreement for a 3-5 business day transaction. 8 days later, the transaction is not complete. Using TruCar- The initial dealing with them was fine - text/email- came to a deal. After that all down hill. Had to follow up about pickup. When I did go to pickup car at a time that was predetermined 4 days earlier, I had to wait 30 mins for someone ( dealership was empty). The salesperson I was dealing with wasn't there nor was the finance manager. I was left to deal with a salesman who had no idea what he was doing. Never asked for payment, never made copies of any paperwork, just kept saying sign here where it's highlighted. Then passes me off to someone to show me the car in which I kept being told "you'll get used to it". I asked for the 2nd key and he tells me some story about it being sent to me. Meanwhile it was there the entire time. Leave dealership without paying and wonder if they will notice. I get a call a few days later asking for payment. Then I get a text asking for copies of the temp plate and registration. Then I get a new temp plate /registration sent to me with a return envelope but no explanation. I call to find out I WAS GIVEN THE WRONG DOCUMENTS! So I ask to speak to a manager- in which I am out on hold for 20 mins and told I'd receive a call back. Well, still waiting on the call. I knew he could help me out, and I did not have to look anywhere else. He got to know me just enough in our first visit to recommend the perfect car to me. At first I thought it was just a car he wanted to move, but he didn't pressure me at all. My husband & I decided to purchase a 2017 Lexis E350 on a Sat afternoon. We just wanted to do the preliminary by putting a deposit down and then continue onto our evening plans. First off our salesman disappeared and without an explanation someone else became our salesperson. The deposit turned into doing all of the loan processing which turned out to be a very time consuming ordeal with many mistakes that needed to be corrected. They wanted Insurance ID cards to be dated for Saturday while we were not going to pickup the car until Monday. We sell insurance, ID cards have ALWAYS been dated for the date of pickup, I asked why and got some cockandbull story because the loan was being processed that day. Very weird! We could of overlooked our ruined plans but then came the pickup. We were scheduled for 11 and we had to wait about 45 minutes before anyone helped us. Then what I found even more unprofessional was the condition of the car. I was told it was detailed.....it was NOT. It had long hair all over, it was not even cleaned or vacuumed. I pointed this out and I what we got from Melissa was they did detail it. I had to show her and she did not even say the word sorry she gave a crazy excuse about the hair getting caught in the vacuum. No one ever apologies anymore. She brought the car in the back and the hair was removed but the rest of the car wasn't cleaned up.The car was brought back again and only a spot type of thing was done, I guess we didn't spend enough to get a clean car. I was very disappointed in how unprofessional our experience was. We love the car but not the dealership. We dread having to come back if we should ever need service. We dealt with Orange County BMW for a recall issue on another car recently and we were treated like gold quite the opposite experience at Prestige. read more
