I read all of the reviews here on Yelp and I requested a quote. The quote came back too low and I telephoned Louis and he said he estimated the job believing that I only wanted the interior done. After telling him about my Tundra PU, he guessed it would be $200 plus for him to do the interior and exterior, subject to his inspection upon arrival at my place. We agreed 10:00 AM. When arrived, we did a walk around the outside/inside of the truck and he explained what he could do. The price $310 was higher than the price detailers on Angie's list were charging, but every vehicle is different. We went over what he was going to do and then I gave him the okay to start. Louis worked from 10:30 AM to 5:30 PM and he texted me to let me know he was finished. I wrote a check out for $310 before I went out to inspect the work. When he finished it was dark and difficult to inspect his work. Louis assured me there would be some spots missed because of the dark and he said he would be glad to return for any touchups. I handed Louis the check for $310 and he apologized for not being clearer with me, he said the price was not $310...the price was $450. I asked him when he had told me that was the price was $450 and he agreed he probably did not. I gave him another check for the full price and he departed. The next day there was a number of deficiencies and missed spots. He returned and spent three more hours working on the truck. My takeaway from this experience is: 1 - Louis is a very nice and sincere guy that does work hard. He wants his customers to be happy. 2 - His work on the interior was outstanding. For the outside, he seemed to have limited materials; see the two attached photos below. The "dry" part of the bumper was untreated by Louis. The treated half was done by my wife with a product we had in the garage. The other photo is of the hood well where the windshield washer is housed. That entire area was untouched. 3 - Price. I thought I knew what I had agreed to pay for Louis' services. I have no idea how it went from $310 to $450. If you decide to use his services, be sure and have him put it in writing before he starts. 4 - I wish Louis the best of luck in having a thriving and successful business. Finally, Louis takes great pride in his work, something that is clear from the end results. He removed all the sand from the seats and floor mats, and got rid of ALL the stains. And by "all," I mean he got oil stains from my daughter's hair product out of the front passenger seat; he got the salt water stains out of the back seat. He removed two stickers from the back window and buffed every ding and mark into oblivion, including those scratches where someone had obviously backed into me. By the time he was finished (it took about three hours, top to bottom) my car was so tight, I considered buying it for a minute. I'm not gonna. I'm turning it in. But someone out there is about to get a three year old car with low miles and in close to perfect condition. Louis fell in love with my dog, KEVIN!!!, and I regret that I didn't offer to snap a photo of the two of them. But I'll do that next time when I hire him to detail my husband's car. Seriously, gang.
