She inconvenienced my ENTIRE DAY on my birthday and my hair was burnt to all hell too, smelling bad even AFTER I washed it. Not one "thank you" or apologize for the delays. I had an updo for the wedding that I loved. I wanted to duplicate the same style for the reception in Des Moines, Iowa this past weekend. I visited with Tiffany Allen from Studio 9, in Des Moines, multiple times. I sent her my picture I wanted to duplicate. She said she could do it. I asked her if she was confident in this updo style, to which her response was "yes". On the day of the reception, we discussed the style with the picture again. Once again, I asked her if she was confident, to which she replied, "yes". Midway through the appointment, I thought to myself that it wasn't looking like the first time. I showed her the picture again and asked for a few adjustments. She still was unable to make the changes. At this point, I knew I was in trouble. I really do not feel like I need to explain any more. I think the pictures will speak for them selves. I will share the picture I modeled my request off of as well as the picture of my first updo for the wedding out of the country, and then my updo I received from Tiffany Allen, Studio 9. I would also like to add, I told her I wasn't happy about her services to give her a chance to apologize. She did not. I asked for a partial refund, and she did not respond. Piper has been my stylist from the beginning- she is wonderful and everything you could want in a stylist- friendly, explains every service well, answers all my questions and great At conversation. I also love how collaborative this team is, if a stylist can't get you in they work really well with their team to get you in. They share formulas and it's truly collaborative at Amara. Complimentary beverages upon arrival. They discuss every service and price point before starting to make sure you are comfortable and they also work around your budget too. I've personally had my hair done by both Piper and Addison who are wonderful but the whole team is super friendly. I have also had my daughter's hair cut here by Piper and she is wonderful and patient with kids as well. This salon is also very beautiful and just did an expansion and remodel of their beautiful space to welcome more stylists to the team. They not only honor the wig voucher that was gifted from folks affiliated with the cancer center, but they also are part of a program that makes up the difference! She got a great $550 wig at no cost to her! Do note that they only have synthetic wigs so if you are looking for human hair ( we will get another one somewhere else), this is not the place. Also, they did not have the color we needed but they ordered one and we should have it in 5-7 business days.
