Liana is an exceptional doctor, simply the best I've ever seen. She is very intelligent and highly experienced running her own practice for decades. She is very honest, upfront and direct as works with you to get down to the bottom the issue. She cares about you very much and figures out your treatment options together with you with full inclusivity. Her professionalism is unparalleled and yet she is 100% genuine. She's always there for you no matter what. I've been with Dr. Hategan for more than 10 years and can't even imagine going to another doctor ever again. NEGLIGENT, RUDE and UNPROFESSIONAL. After completing TMS treatments in this office with another provider, I decided to see Dr. Hategan for medication management. During my appointment she made unprofessional and rude comments in regards to my child and then spent most of the appointment talking about herself and telling me details about another patient whom she has been treating for several years. After having severe side effects and withdraws from medication changes she made I left multiple messages at the office and have not heard from her. I DO NOT trust that this woman has any of her patients best interests at heart. AVOID THIS DOCTOR! UPDATE- Now almost a year after Dr. Hategan's office didn't respond to my calls, I receive a bill for over $6000 from them with a late fee and a threat to send me to collections. This is the only communication I have had from them since I had my one and only appointment with her last year. After reaching out to my insurance I found out that her office made mistakes in the billing and have resubmitted the claims while also trying to bill me. I tried to call her office to clarify the situation only to find out that my phone number had been blocked. I then called from my husbands phone left a message with the receptionist and you guess it, they never called back. If you are trying to pay to make a friend and not get help than she is not for you. I went to Dr. Hategan for medication management and ended up doing TMS treatments (which didn't work). I loved her staff and her office dogs. I found the doctor herself gruff and painfully to the point. I'm okay with not beating around the bush... but yikes! She took it to the extreme. She made some strange comments about one of my children as I was telling her that I was struggling with him and it was increasing my anxiety. She basically told me that I should hit my child, she wasn't joking . That's NOT okay for any doctor to tell their patients that! She also diagnosed me with BPD, which none of my previous or current doctors agree with. I stopped seeing her after that. That being said, she may be a lifesaver for some with her direct approach.However, she wasn't my cup of tea. I would hesitate to recommend her to anyone. read more

Dr. Hategan is gruff, rude, and confrontational. In my 4 months with her, I know more about her personal life and her life in Germany than she knows of my needs, history, and current situation. This office NEVER requested a copy of my medical records, so be ready for her opinion to be the only correct one. She is a complete pill pusher, until you need a refill and then they require the patient to go in for a "15 minute" appointment (the appointment cost is the same as a full appointment!) and Dr. Hategan treats you like a drug addict! Just a miserable, depressing and un-professional experience. I encourage you to really think if someone who is more interested in themselves than the patient is right for you. It takes someone who wants to be treated like crap to handle this outrageously rude Dr. PATIENT BE WARNED!!! BTW: It's $450 "an hour", though I have never had an appointment longer than 30 minutes. UPDATE: Dr. Hategan has billed my insurance fraudulently for amounts more than they were allowed. They have received full payment for services never given, and double payment on two occasions. Contacted my insurance company today, 6/16/17, and spoke to the "Special Investigations Unit." I have filed a formal complaint and my case AND this offices billings will be investigated. read more

PICK A DIFFERENT PSYCHIATRIST! This woman does not know what she is doing, and she acts like she does. When I first walked in, I was aggressively barked at? By a dog??? So aggressively barked at that I was afraid to enter the office for my appointment. Wtf?? When I got to have a conversation with her, she asked me what I do, and once I told her she spent the next 20 minutes talking about how she used to know how to knit socks. She asked about my history a little. I told her my dad used to be addicted to crack, because she asked. She said to me that "ALL crack users have bipolar." She also said to me that "crack is a rich man's drug." (Really? CRACK? The drug that has destroyed most low income communities in this country? It's actually one of the cheapest drugs you can get.) also, upon further research, her statement that all crack users have bipolar is entirely false. I was actually shocked when she said that to me with complete certainty. I obviously know more about drugs and mental disorders than she does based off of my high school health class, which is insane. How is she qualified?? By the end of the appointment I was shuffled out because she had wasted too much time talking about irrelevant crap. She ended with aggressively pushing me towards taking antidepressants, and telling me that if I don't do that I will become agoraphobic and never leave my house, like a threat. Boy, I know myself and I do not need antidepressants. I'm not depressed. That's not what I came to her for. I have major hormone imbalances due to hypothyroid and PCOS, these imbalances cause anxiety which I needed help managing at the time, in supplementation of other medications/supplements I take to manage my health. I did NOT get what I needed. I've been to many psychiatrists, some bad, she is by the far THE WORST! I am terrified for her long term patients, if she has any. I got the help I needed from better, more professional, more helpful medical professionals. This lady should quit. Seriously. Just wow. read more

Dr. Hategan is a compassionate, intelligent and thoughtful psychiatrist. I've seen her for two years. She's always had my back when I needed her. She's helped me find my own way through the little previews of Hell I have an apparent knack for finding. Because of her I know and accept who I am. She nurtures yet is tough when she needs to be. She is way too smart to be fooled into prescribing drugs you don't need, yet won't hesitate if you do. Gotta love that! If you are looking to heal, call her today. I read the other review and my experience is totally different. The office staff is wonderful! I've never had a problem with billing nor has my insurance company and we both watch those bills. There are requirements for doctors prescribing drugs to see patients routinely while they are on those medications. If they do otherwise it could cost them their license to practice. These are rules, not choices. I'm sorry the other reviewer had such an awful experience. Mine has been excellent. If you are looking for a psychiatrist go decide for yourself. Clearly both the other reviewer and I have strong feelings about Dr. Hategan. She is no pushover. Who would want that in a psychiatrist? My goal is to beat depression and Dr. Liana Hategan is helping ME do just that. read more

After three years of appointments I feel I am no better off than when we started. I also feel Dr. Hategan is condescending and takes opposing views personally. I consistently had difficulty getting prescriptions refilled, but while Dr. Hategan always blamed the pharmacy, it always turned out to be a problem in her office. When I was the first appointment of the day, she would arrive right on time, but then spend 15-20 minutes getting her computer and office set up and reviewing our last session, leaving only 10 minutes to talk. I am glad to have moved on to another doctor. read more
