Almost a year ago I decided I could see him every other week. I have been through a lot both physically and mentally so I can easily say that Dr Johnson has changed my life significantly. I've been interested in receiving counseling since college. I actually got my degree in psychology. But I've seen a lot of therapists!!! Too many to even remember them all. But none of them figured out my issues. I remember so many visits were just like chatting to each other for a hour. So Dr J (that's what I call him) was the first therapist to actually really help me. His knowledge of medicine is phenomenal. And he stays on top of the new meds that are out there. I never have had a problem with taking medication. If I thought it might help I definitely would try it. He always tries a different dosage and really monitors u as long as u are good with following his instructions. Even if we decide to cut a pill in half he always tells me to get back to him right away if there are any issues. He encourages me to call even just after a few days On the new dosage. He also checks his messages and gets right back to u. He always calls in my prescriptions on time and always leaves his patients with a number to call (24/7) to reach him if needed. I could go on and on but this is already pretty epic!! Lol. But everything does take time. But I've also always been quite vocal when it comes to my issues and so I think that it's easier in a way to treat me. But I'm also stubborn yet I do get my feelings hurt easily. So I've learned to speak up and just tell him like it is. If u get to know him u would easily see that this job is his life. I trust him immensely. Even after 15 years I still find good reasons to continue my therapy with him. I accept that I need some psychiatric meds to be the real person that I am today. But even with all my physical ailments I do find solace in knowing that I'm under his care. He is awesome!!

One of my appointments was rescheduled without my knowledge. I showed up and the office manager told me she thought she had called to reschedule. My phone showed no record of a call. During one of my other appointments, Dr. Johnson wasn't back from lunch yet. Since I was also on my lunch break, I ended up late returning to work because our appointment was delayed. During yet another appointment, they had repairmen in working on the air conditioner. We started late again, ended up displacing the office manager downstairs for about ten minutes so Dr. Johnson and I would have someplace to hold our session, we were interrupted twice in those ten minutes, then we relocated to the living room area upstairs and were interrupted twice more as the repairman came through to do minor tasks to the A/C before leaving again. It's challenging to make any progress during a session when you know there is somebody just outside the door where they can easily hear you. It's even harder to continue a train of thought with constant interruptions. I paid full price for that session. I also never felt that Dr. Johnson was interested in hearing context. Even during the same visit, I'd have to remind him of things I just said. The final straw motivating me to write this review was receiving a new bill over a year after my final appointment. I spent nearly $1,200 out of pocket for four visits for, what I feel was, some pretty piss-poor care.
