I stood there for a moment trying not to interrupt, but when she finally looked up she seemed visibly annoyed, almost like a "what do you want?" expression. I let her know I was there for the Silks class and she told me to go to the building across the parking lot. The interaction felt pretty short and awkward. Aerial Silks is already intimidating if you have no experience, so having this type of first impression really made me question if I even wanted to patron the establishment. That said, the class itself completely turned the experience around. Ashley, our instructor, was fantastic. She was super patient, encouraging, and kind. Aerial silks can be intimidating if you're new, but she made the class fun and approachable. I ended up having a great time and almost forgot about the front desk interaction by the end of it. If the front desk experience had matched the quality of the class, this would easily be a 5-star review. I would definitely come back for Ashley's class, especially now that I know I can go straight to the other building.

The attention to detail in the development of each student's technique is what helps each kid rise to the high standards set, and take pride in their accomplishments. In the beginning, everything seemed wonderful, but over time serious concerns became impossible to ignore. First, tuition and fees continued to increase, yet there was very little transparency regarding where the additional money was going. Competition fees in particular did not match the written amounts provided by the competitions themselves. For my daughter's solo entry alone, I discovered we were charged over $200 more than the actual competition fee. Costume costs were also excessive, especially when many items appeared to come from inexpensive online retailers while parents were charged significantly higher prices. Another major concern was the lack of accountability and communication. Concerns brought up by parents were often dismissed, and at times families were made to feel unreasonable for asking legitimate questions. Communication was inconsistent, with frequent changes to contact information and difficulty receiving clear responses. Most importantly, I was deeply troubled by the treatment of children. No child should leave practice feeling humiliated or emotionally distressed. My 6-year-old daughter came home crying on multiple occasions, and other parents shared that their children witnessed staff yelling harshly at her. It was heartbreaking to watch her confidence diminish over time. After two years, she became so emotionally overwhelmed that she begged me in tears not to make her audition again. There were also issues involving choreography changes being made without proper permission or communication, despite claims otherwise. Additionally, while it was stated that extra time and effort were being "donated" for soloists, many of those lessons were still conducted in shared private sessions despite being included in our regular tuition. I was genuinely excited for Taylor to have a dance studio for local children, which makes this experience even more disappointing. Every child deserves a positive, supportive, and encouraging environment where they can grow both as dancers and as individuals. Unfortunately, that was not our experience here. I would strongly encourage parents of young dancers to carefully consider all options before enrolling.

I popped in the studio earlier today to watch our daughter Kenzie dance tonight. It's refreshing to see a teacher care and share her talent to help foster the next generation of ballerinas. She offers correction, a warm smile while fostering and building good and safe habits, while gently help the girls perfect their technique. My daughter had been on the dance team for the past 2 years in middle school and plans to pursue dance in High School as well. I was pleased to see that MUV offers flexible summer classes with the option to take various classes on a drop in basis. They offer high school prep classes, ballet, jazz, hip hop, technique classes and more. I have been so pleased with the classes and my daughter loves them. They have many highly trained instructors. They have multiple studios so they can run several classes at the same time. It is clean and well organized. I did have the pleasure of seeing their regular dance teams compete last year at a local competition and this studio does a great job!
