Scheduled an appointment 2-3 months ago. So, long wait. While on the phone making the appointment, I add to my calendar. Appointment for today at 2pm. I arrive 15 minutes early and was told my appointment was yesterday. I never, I mean never make appointments on Mondays because my Mondays are full of meetings. They don't email appointments or confirmations so I have no way of proving they're in error. The front desk person tried to help by offering an appointment for next week, but NO! Since Liberty Dermatology in Rowlett referred me to William Posten in Dallas, they too deserve an unfavorable review. My insurance carrier and I have contacted William Posten at Advanced Dermasurgery Associates' billing office numerous times after the insurance company showed on their Explanation of Benefits (EOB) his charge to me should have been $257.20. However, he charged me $1.210.66. Therefore, he overcharged me by $953.46. Posten's billing office hung up on me twice, even though I was not angry with them when I was trying to explain the aforementioned over-charge. Since Posten is an in-network doctor, he has agreed to charge in-network prices! If he disagrees with the EOB, he is to appeal the payment with UMR, not overcharge the patient and refuse to return the over-charge. To add insult to injury, my insurance company's nurse informed me that the medical clinical information did not support such a large and deep hole he carved into my face to remove a tiny spot of Basal cancer, which recently formed because it is the slowest growing and the least dangerous skin cancer. The hole he carved into my face required plastic surgery and anesthesia. Thereby increasing the cost for both me and the insurance carrier by thousands of dollars more. Unfortunately, I did not do my Yelp search before my procedure because afterwards, my search of reviews of Posten found several very bad reviews. For instance, he treated several patients very poorly, such as, Aria Couture and Hayli Renfro. He also overcharged and refused to return an over-charge of $1,000 to Meggin Kaufman and Sachi W. Therefore, steer clear of Liberty Dermatology and William Posten they are money hunger people who don't care about many of their patients! read more

I thought the nurse and office staff were awesome. I saw Dr. Vo. She was in a rush and raced through her "scan" of my body. When I told the nurse that I had more questions, Ms. Vo returned to the room. Ms. Vo was rude and clearly offended that I had additional questions about things pertaining to MY body. I still do not agree with her "assessment" and have an appointment with a more experienced dermatologist. I do not recommend her at all. read more

Scheduling an appointment is always a 3-4 month wait! I had to reschedule my appointment with them due to another medical procedure they advised me to have and was told it was a 3-month wait for a reschedule??? I am supposed to be seen by their office for medical follow-up every 6 months, but now looking at 10 months for the follow-up. We went to Dr. Vo (female provider) as a new patient. Given it being my first time there and dealing with a skin issue my 4yr old son had for the first time. She didn't have any patience for questions and talked down on you if asking a question she felt you should know. I was very disappointed at the lack of empathy, desire to provide patient education, and rudeness. She wanted our visit to be a quick in and out with no personal touch. I didn't get the impression she cared about my son we were just a dollar bill she was collecting. Needless to say the medication she provided initially made his skin look like it had burn marks until I called in and had to continue to reiterate the medication was leaving burn like marks on him. She kept trying to say it is normal and going to get worse before it gets better. Come to find out she didn't properly inform me on how to apply the medication. We should have been doing spot treatment instead of applying it all over and the medication was burning areas of his skin that didn't need it and was too strong. If I didn't push and continue to reiterate my concern since she wasn't hearing me. Her recommendation was to continue to apply and it will get better. All of the uncomfortable burning sensation my 4yr old was feeling definitely could of been prevented. If she would of took the time to provide adequate patient education and instead wanting to rush out the room. I requested to see another doctor for our follow up. Dr. Tran was better, but when I told him what happened he didn't seem to want to acknowledge it and move on since the incident was in the past. He finally apologized for the experience since I didn't want to drop it until he acknowledged what happened. I wouldn't recommend this office! I feel there are plenty of other Dermatology offices around to find one where you feel they truly care about you especially as much as you pay to be seen! Worst experience! read more

Horrible experience. Don't be fooled by thier "dermatologist of the year" plaques hangin on the wall from a rockwall magazine they probably pay for rankings. I had went in to get a qoute on a surgery last year. They qouted $450. Cash price. I didn't have the funds to do at the time. I went back june of this year. The price is now $800. I asked why it has doubled and they can not give me a straightforward answer. I go ahead do the surgery. I pay cash. A month later i get a bill from a pathology lab for $50. No onr informed me of any lab tests being done. I called the dermatology office all they offer me is an apology. These people are crooks. read more

I've tried and tried but can't think of a single good thing to say about this office. I saw this practice for a couple of years, and always saw Dr. Vo. While others have said it's difficult to get an appointment, it really wasn't difficult for me, and not a terribly long wait as far as dermatologists go---but I came to learn why. Their office staff isn't particularly helpful or friendly, much less knowledgeable, but my first experience was their misdiagnosing flaky scalp as run of the mill dandruff after a hurried lookover (I've since been correctly diagnosed with eczema). But what really got me was the absolute fear of god they put in me when they saw a spot under my thumbnail and had me convinced it was cancerous so that they could remove the nail. Stupid me blindly agreed and went through with it. It was profoundly painful and the healing wasn't fast. Since then what's grown back has been deformed, split, uneven and just awful. Turns out it was a burst blood vessel. Oops. They're quick to want to cut on you, and that should scare you. But worst of all, was how many times they both emailed AND ASKED ME OVER THE PHONE imploring me to vote them as the best dermatologist in the area. No thanks, y'all, I'm good. And since I've found a -real- dermatology office that truly knows their stuff. Every time I drive past Liberty's office, I look at my maimed thumb and shake my head. read more

I wish I could give 0. One of the main doctors kept pushing me to take birth control when I was against it for my acne. And when I finally said yes and called up there to tell her what kind of birth control I got I never got a call back, so I never took the birth control and just kept using the creams and my acne subsided. The girl dermatologist also checked me to see if I had needle marks from doing drugs and I have never done drugs. I found it very rude that she insinuated that about me when I'm healthy.. Did she insinuate this about me because I have acne? I'm not sure. After that she never got back to me about if the birth control I got prescribed was good for acne or not. over all these people are more concerned with you giving them a good rating than helping you. I was told at least 3 times to give them a good rating while I left the building. read more

Any doctor can have rave reviews written by the media, especially if they spend ad dollars. Yelp was created in order to ensure you are reading non biased reviews from former patients, like myself. The staff is not knowledgable on fees, so should you dare show up for an appointment, be prepared for a surprise "by the way, in addition to the $700 you will spend on Botox today, it's an additional $70 for a body scan. "We talked to the doctor and cannot waive the fee. We are so sorry we never mentioned that the three times we spoke with you this week, and so sorry you drove an hour to get here." Unfortunately, they were not near as nice, as it was more like, too bad so sad. If you have lots of money and love to throw it away, and do not care about being treated by a professional doctor and staff, this is the place for you. If you actually care about the money you spend, and care for your body, skin and health, I highly recommend you DO NOT choose Liberty Dermatology. Good luck! read more

Although the doctor was nice, I cannot and will not recommend this place. I spent well over 30 minutes to see the doctor, and it seemed that everyone that came in while I waited had an appointment to see him the same time I was scheduled to see him. When I did finally make it back to the office (not configured like your typical office), it was a very rushed ordeal. I have a skin condition that is impacted by hot weather, and if treated beforehand I can prevent any outbreaks. My previous dermatologist would always prescribe my medication so that I can control the flair up. This dermatologist was more fixated on not being able to see any spots, rather than listening to me as a patient. Some of my other concerns were never addressed, because again he could not "see" anything, and made no suggestions as to a potential follow up or even possible exams to address my concerns. I was in front of the doctor for less than 10 minutes and spent an unnecessary amount of money for that waste of time. Needless to say, I will not return to this dermatologist. read more

This would be my 4th appointment but never saw doctor every time I waited in eXcess of 40-minutes. I decided not to continue to wait. See no use in giving appointments with that wait. Special doctors insurance office visits much more so if you don't care about time or what an appointment means this should be the doctor for you. Beware if you have psoriasis try another dr. Dr. Tran misdiagnosed my husband for over a year saying he had bug bites (even though no oneelse In our family had any) it turned out to be guttate psoriasis. We changed dr's and the new one walked in and knew it wasnt bug bites instantly! My hubby suffered for a full year because liberty dermatology only wanted to prescribe creams and have us keep coming back. So glad we changed! read more

If I could give zero stars I would. Dr. Tran is more concerned that you vote him best dermatologist than he is about his patients. I brought my daughter in for acne and he didn't even come within two feet of her to look at her skin, or ask questions to see why she came to see him. He talked at her instead of to her and was annoyed and dismissive when we asked questions. He threw some prescriptions at her and couldn't wait to get us out of the room. He only seemed interested in showing us the survey that he asked us to fill out and vote for him for best dermatologist. Within 24 hrs of the appointment we have received emails and texts asking to vote for him in the survey but absolutely nothing about how my daughter is doing or if he did or didn't help her. His ads are absolutely misleading and I would never go to his practice again!! He has only been voted "best dermatologist" because he hounds patients to vote for him, not because of his skills as a doctor or his concern for his patients! BEWARE!! read more

This is a great dermatologist and I did not feel like I should have packed my lunch. Got in at my appointment time both times I have been there. I have been trying to get help with the caullouse on the ball of both feet he has helped me and I am able to walk without pain. He listened to what I was saying and I did not feel rushed, I had some scaly looking places on my arms I asked about and he froze them off... if not taken care of they might someday become cancer. Gave me a script for tretinoin cream to apply to my face for some of the scaly spots and dark spot.. I did not want the places on my face frozen. My son and I were seen by Dr Tran for the usual skin check. The staff was nice, however I felt like they had overbooked the appointments. I waited over 45 minutes to see the doctor, and when I did see him I felt like he was very rushed. The skin check he gave me was literally 60 seconds. He was very nice so I gave the office another chance and kept my son's appt, For two days later. We showed up on time only to wait over an hour for the doctor to see him. Even my son said he felt rushed. We will not be returning for this reason. read more

I was referred to Dr Tran by an acquaintance that shared our vicious psoriasis stories together. For 3 years HDR Tran has worked with me treating my psoriasis, toenail fungus and removal of seed moles. He has always explained his findings and how I can care for my problems. Psoriasis is not totally curable but he has helped me make it more comfortable. His office staff and assistants are always nice. I would refer a friend or family member.
