If you disagree or have any issues with Carry The Day Texas they get really, really mad and angry. I am not sure if they have unreasonable expectations or this is just their style of doing business but its not a good one. I caution anyone considering to do business with these folks to really make sure that they dont have any issues or else you may the subject of intense backlash. I looked in the Austin area and there are tons of other options and fire arms classes and courses that seem much, much better.

As a former Austin Firefighter and owner / Instructor of a workplace fire and life safety training company, I can recognize and appreciate the art of articulation. This training by far exceeded any expectations that I had. Sean's style of instructing is rare and so refreshing. He uses humor while addressing the seriousness of laws governing handguns. His experience as a former law enforcement officer of over 20 years in the Los Angeles, California area lend itself to the experience that backed up his instructions. He let his experience and his obvious passion speak for itself. I was operating on four hours of sleep and I was afraid that I would be sleepy but I was totally alert and hanging on every word. He welcomed questions and answered all questions that were asked of him. The course took longer than the scheduled time but I could have remained there even longer. You can tell that he has a true passion and phenomenal insight concerning handgun training. I appreciated that he shared real life lessons and incorporated it into the training. After the classroom portion of the training was completed, we went to the shooting range where he and two other team members showed us how to properly hold and discharge the weapons. Constantly being vigilante for our safety. GO THERE you will not find a better CHL instructor in the state of Texas. Thank you Sean for your service. You the Man!! I cannot say enough positive things about Jorge, his facility, and the training I got from him. He included some suggestions for defense that I had not even considered, believing (mistakenly) that they were illegal. He provided me with resources for materials and services which complemented the training, and made sure I understood how and when to use them. He was patient and answered questions completely. You may have complete confidence that you will understand your rights and responsibilities when you leave. I do think, however, that he was a little surprised that an old, fat guy with one leg in a wheelchair could black out the X ring with a puny little 9mm in less than 20 rounds.

I have had gun training in the past, but it was nowhere near as thorough and enjoyable as training…read morewith Jorge has been. With his advice, I was able to find a handgun with which I'm very comfortable. As a woman, I appreciated that Jorge did not patronize me or sugarcoat real-life issues to consider and prepare for. I highly recommend training at the Citadel, especially for those unfamiliar with guns and the laws of Texas.

This training ranch is a hidden gem! Secluded and away from distractions yet close enough to…read moredowntown Marble Falls for a post-training bite and brewski. The country-drive to and from here is beautiful. It's quintessential Texas Hill Country! So when I say hidden, I mean, Jeff or one of his assistants must meet you at the front gate next to FM 1431. From there you'll be escorted up to the training area. You just have to follow Jeff/his assistant up the fire road leading to the grounds. When we met up with him he was driving his UTV. I suggest you drive a vehicle with decent ground clearance on the day of. No need for a 12" suspension lift or anything crazy like that, just ensure you're not driving a low slung vehicle like a sports car during your visit, LOL! Note: The ranch (actually a few ranches) shares a front gate with Hidden Falls Adventure Park. When you arrive at the grounds you'll notice it's next to Jeff's residence. How awesome is that?! Wake up, pour some coffee in a sippy cup, hop on the UTV and shoot a few rounds at some silhouettes or steel before the rooster even sounds the alarm! Wooohoo! I'm not a jealous kind of guy but... Anyhow, yes, Jeff's training was spot on! I won't go into the details. No spoiler alerts here. But like most valuable training you must first learn the basics and fundamentals before the more advanced techniques can be explored. Think of firearms training like a house. If the foundation is less than sturdy, no matter how great the house looks above the foundation, once some rockin' begins, the house will falter. So get the fundamentals mastered to avoid faltering. Besides firearms instruction, he can provide a Texas DPS accredited Texas LTC course. I already had my LTC but my much better half returned to complete the LTC program soon after. BTW: The safety brief and lunch breaks are held in his air conditioned living-room so please be southern-comfort mannered. =) Jeff is a great and patient instructor. That is important especially because folks learn at different paces. Some learn slower than others but that's ok. Heck, I didn't know I was tying my shoelaces incorrectly until I was in my early 30's! No wonder my knots would always come loose, LOL! Have fun y'all but most importantly, be safe!i
