Well protected and secured! We would be happy to do business with this company again! I hope they take good care of their employees!

These professional young men, on less than 24 hours notice and a Holiday, moved a mint conditioned piano and cared for it, like it was their own grandmothers. We live in the far north suburbs. Why there is only 1 Star by four individuals is beyond me. We will hire them again for a quality move! They took extra care and secured the move. This is fact.

My crew, Derek and Justin were extremely efficient and communicative. They always asked me where and how I would like to have the things unloaded and placed, and were very respectful of my apartment. Ended up finishing everything and more than what I have asked for to unload in less than the quoted 2 hours! Would definitely consider using them again if needed to move. In a word: Don't sweat, leave it to the Big Guys!

I had to think long and hard about writing this review because I grew up with the philosophy "if…read moreyou don't have anything nice to say - then don't say anything at all". That being said - I don't want others to fall into the trap I did. My experience was similar to the many other voices here on yelp. I was provided with an "estimated hours time" to complete my move . . . everything in the house was packed and ready to load. Three men showed up late. One young guy was on his phone every time I walked outside to check progress on loading. A completely rude man kept asking to use my bathroom and then informed me I was out of toilet paper and did I have more. Needless to say I had a clogged toilet. They took more than twice the anticipated time to load the truck and behaved outrageously when I said I didn't have enough cash to pay them (since I planned for half the time). The man wanted to stay (alone) in my empty house while I went to the bank to get money. What kind of legitimate business demands payment in cash?! But the real reason I am writing this review is because most of what I loaded into the truck went into storage for a year. I just moved again and was able to unpack my things......crushed storage boxes, soo many broken items I can't even count, damaged furniture AND my very expensive commercial sized treadmill is broken. The day of the move I watched the bathroom idiot try to pick up the console by himself and as I was beginning to say, "don't....." - he dropped it upside down on my concrete drive. I was hopeful that since it was wrapped in foam and moving blankets it would be safe - but I should have known better. When I called the owner he started swearing at me and insisting everything was my fault and his men told him I was "difficult". Don't trust this man/company with your possessions! The clowns he hires to do the moving are unprofessional, rude, lazy and don't give a poo about how they treat your items.

Despite having a full schedule, they fit me in, were 110% reliable, and great to communicate with from the onset. I worked with Mark on arranging the job. Al did the move and was awesome to work with. You won't go wrong with Fordson. I highly recommend them. In fact, I'm on Yelp right now looking up their information to hire them again and realizing I forgot to submit this well-deserved review from back in April. So, I'm happy to finally be getting that done for them.

Two guys showed up with a huge truck; took about 2 hours to load and drove the 60+ miles to my new home. I explained that I would have to leave before they finished, so I could drive back to Dearborn in the daylight (eyesight issues). That's when it all fell apart. I went back the next day to find plastic wrap strewn around the house, leaves all over the inside of the house, items left wrapped, a dirty bathroom and smoke smell. I contacted Fordson, and was told a slew of lies the worker told him; He said I told them not to enter the garage, FALSE. He said he couldn't find anywhere to dispose of the plastic wrap - THERE WAS A GARBAGE CAN IN THE DRIVEWAY NEXT TO THEIR TRUCK, I was told they aren't responsible for cleaning up after the job. I told Fordson I felt taken advantage of, being alone and older, and that his employee was lying. They made no accommodation and essentially blew me off once they were paid. My Advise: WATCH THEM EVERY MINUTE and make sure a man is around. They will lie and cheat and take advantage of a single woman. BEWARE.

We felt confident. Boy were we wrong! $15k down the drain. Everything became a complaint or an argument. We had picked them specifically because they said they would build a crate for the lathe and charged another $1000 to do it. On the day John argued he would not move it and had never agreed to. Much less build a crate for it. I ended up providing makeshift materials and show them how to safely move it. When it got here things were bent and broken. While getting boxes in the truck two of them kept pushing each other around like two little kids. They eventually dropped a bed frame on the hardwood floor and then one pretended to be hurt. We saw it. It never touched him but he screamed it broke his foot and was bleeding. Yet somehow he had no issues moving boxes. The same two guys kept pushing each other around until finally one was thrown right where a snow plow was being moved. The plow flipped over and narrowly missed his foot! I turned white. The truck they brought was not big enough. They had to go and offload it and return. That took them 4 hours. We had to walk behind them around the house because they would constantly not grab all the boxes from rooms but close the door and say it was all done. Always an argument ensued. Things like yard equipment, glass and awkwardly shaped things were taken separately on the truck. When these guys arrived they had two trucks and just 3 people. As they opened the truck I saw one of my generators sitting upside down! The lathe was loosely strapped to the side of the truck sitting on the same material I provided. Things on it were bent and broken from bouncing around. All the yard equipment and awkwardly shaped items were just stuck in tall garment boxes. Trim pieces from my truck I had just painted were scratched and rubbed through. Ruined. Boxes were crushed. The guy with the "broken foot" kept limping around. John hardly did anything. Boxes were placed any which way pretty much anywhere. We had to insist and argue for boxes to be taken where they belonged. Things that went into storage were just chucked in and boxes placed right at the entrance. It was a mess. We gave up on having the furniture put back together as we just wanted them to leave.

I got a call that the move would be rescheduled but it was hours after the supposed start time. No biggie, they sent me a crew the next morning. They showed up but they showed up with no supplies. Absolutely nothing. No shrink wrap, no furniture wraps, no boxes. Things I was told they would have and I would have gladly paid for. They moved my things into storage. In the two guys defense, Anthony and Anthony, they had good personalities but there should have been a third person in their crew. Fast forward to August 2022 and we have finally moved out things out of storage into our new home. Our cream furniture pieces (sectional w/ detachable pillows, chaise, sofa and ottoman were all dirty. Like they drug the stuff off the truck. Some of our wood furniture has been scraped and chipped. Worst experience I've ever had with a moving company. We booked this place for our move from a 3rd floor walk up with no elevator into a single family home. I made a point to tell the owner, Fawn W. that we were on the 3rd floor with no elevator. I filled out the form she sent and specifically selected the option of 3+ floors and made a note AGAIN that there's no elevator. The day before the move she calls me to confirm, I remind her again about the elevator 3rd floor situation - she says yep all set her people know this. Shortly after she calls me and says they have to push back our move from 9-10 am to 2-4 pm...I wasn't thrilled but that's life and things happen. Now, it's the day of the move... the movers call me when they're nearby and ask me if we are on the 5th floor- I said nope, 3rd floor with no elevator - the mover had NOT BEEN TOLD ABOUT THIS BEFORE even though I specifically mentioned it to Fawn, the owner MULTIPLE times. Not off to a great start already but I tried to remain hopeful. The movers arrive WITHOUT ANY MASKS...my husband asked them if they had masks and they said "no we don't do that." When my husband mentioned the governor's orders to wear masks and the fact that there's a pandemic happening and masks should be worn, one of the movers got defensive and said to my husband, "What are you a cop?!?!" The mover then proceeded to say to my husband "So do you want us to do this move or not?!?!" The movers come up to look at our apartment- we tell them what needs to be moved etc, then they say that they are waiting on a 3rd guy to come and they won't start until the third person arrives...uhhh okay? The movers go back and wait in their car. At this point we have been waiting almost all day for this move to get started and it's after 4pm. The owner, Fawn calls me and says that we have 5 stories that the movers will need to climb - THIS IS NOT ACCURATE SINCE WE LIVE ON THE 3rd FLOOR AS I TOLD HER SEVERAL TIMES. She went on to argue with us about how many floors our apartment building has and how a flight of stairs is counted...she proceeds to ask us how many steps we have in our building - who the heck knows that off the top of their head?!?! And since when is a THIRD FLOOR WALK UP 5 flights of stairs?!?! She tells us that they don't do moves with this many stairs...that would've been good to know when I made the reservation and informed her of our stairs situation. Also, she informed us that the third mover wasn't coming anyway because he didn't want to deal with the stairs so late in the day-- okay cool, so I guess everybody just makes their own hours and does stuff when they're feeling up for it at this company. Cool. This part is VERY IMPORTANT given the CURRENT COVID 19 PANDEMIC. We went on to ask Fawn if she was aware that her movers were not wearing masks during a pandemic while going in and out of peoples homes...and she said OF COURSE THEY ARE NOT. Uhhhh....what? She went on to spew some ignorant and inaccurate anti-mask claims such as, "they don't wear masks for their own health" as well as the other anti-masker greatest hit "the work they do is too hard for them to wear a mask." I call B.S....if a doctor wears a mask for a 12 hour surgery, and if my 3 year old niece is wearing a mask at school all day and plays outside running around at recess without issue then I don't see why two grown-ass men can't wear their masks while doing their job. This kind of anti mask attitude is extremely dangerous and unacceptable. I cannot stress enough how absolutely horrendous our experience was with this company. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND TO MY WORST ENEMY. This is a company that is being EXTREMELY IRRESPONSIBLE AND UNSAFE during a pandemic- the fact that the movers aren't required to wear masks, and the owner's ridiculous claims about masks being a health are irresponsible, dangerous & unacceptable. Seriously everybody, between the owner not informing her movers about our stair and no elevator situation, the refusal to wear masks, the rude mover and the last minute cancellation because of the stairs that I told them several times we have- THIS WAS A NIGHTMARE EXPERIENCE, AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS!! UPDATE: the owner has private messaged me saying that we "threatened and we're rude to the movers". She also went on to say she was glad that they didn't do our move. Also informed me that if it isn't too hard to wear a mask while moving that we should just do it ourselves. Screenshot of message is attached. I have NEVER encountered such a rude business owner in my entire life. My husband DID NOT THREATEN movers, he told them that the governor's orders require a mask. she has informed me that she will pay a company to remove my reviews.

I hired this company on 8/13/25, and the experience was awful from start to finish. They were scheduled for 9 AM but didn't arrive until after 10. The original quote was $379 for the first two hours with two movers and $169 for each additional hour (spoke with John). Without asking me, they decided to bring a third mover, which raised the rate to $515 for the first two hours and $239 for each additional hour. Jake assured me this would save money because the move would go faster, but instead, it dragged on for seven hours just to move some furniture and boxes. To make things worse, Jake didn't even have a proper receipt--he reused an old one and scribbled over it. During the move, they dropped my couch off the truck and broke both front legs. Jake admitted it, saying, "Well, that happens. I'll come back and fix it." We paid in full immediately (they also charge extra for credit card payments), but as of 9/19/25, the couch is still broken and Jake has never come back. This company is unprofessional, careless, and dishonest. Use them at your own risk.

The movers arrived smelling strongly of marijuana, which immediately raised concerns about professionalism and safety. More importantly, they were not prepared to perform the move at all. It became clear that the owner, who provided the original quote, failed to communicate the true scope of the job to his own crew. As a result, the movers said they could not complete the services I had booked and left a deposit for. This left me in an impossible situation, as I was closing on the sale of my house the very next day. I was forced to scramble at the last minute to find another moving company under extreme stress. A moving company should be reliable, professional, and transparent--especially when people's homes and major life events are involved. This company failed on all counts and did nothing to be solution based to rectify the situation.

I am a senior citizen, and I was very specific about the fact that I was recovering from a recent surgery and was not able to lift med/large heavy boxes placed (stacked) on top of one another once transported to my new residence. I also spoke at length with Jim's brother, Stewart, regarding packing materials snd number of boxes needed to pack remaining belongings in my home. I was also told that there were specific packing materials that would be sent to carefully wrap expensive large rugs that needed to be sent out to be professionally cleaned once the move took place. Four young, courteous men arrived on rime for moving day, but unfortunately, underestimated the time/men needed to completely move me from my home to my new residence, so plans were made to continue the move to the following day. Movers overall, were careful with my furniture and belongings, but are not properly trained to consider properly labelling boxes, so that when a bed is dismantled, for example, and put back together again, the bed can be quickly remade! Zero considerations for personal care products, clothing, personal computer, medications (used everyday) to be set aside so they can be found easily once moved. I am still looking for my houseplants that are sitting out in my garage, despite cold weather, because the boxes they were packed in are poorly marked. The plants should have been brought into the house, not left in the garage! The carpets that Stewart stated would be carefully attended to and wrapped securely never happened, after spending over $3,000 for a local move twenty minutes away. Disappointed at best.
