The two man team led by Travis arrived on time, packed up the items and brought them to the new location. They removed items from my condo and took them to the street curb for refuse pick up and put the new items inside. The fragile lamps were packed in plenty of felt blankets so there was no damage and my sofa bed was wrapped in saran to protect it. Everything went on time and on schedule with no issues. All of those things were true and the movers were professional and friendly. The challenge i had with them was that on the day of the move they ended up being 3 hours late. They had told me someone would arrive between 2-3pm, but did not arrive until 5. Typically this wouldn't be an issue, because i know moving companies don't have full control of their schedules, but unfortunately I had a time limit that day. It was not communicated to me that they would be arriving that late, and instead we had to contact them about their eta and nearly had to cancel the task. More proactive communication in the future would move this rating up. I would still use them, but only if I didn't have time constraints. read more

This time I reached out to the store directly. They said they could do a move for today at noon. At 11:57 I get a text asking if they could reschedule the move for tomorrow because one of their guys is out for a family issue. I said that wasn't possible to move to tomorrow and I have heard nothing since. He is neither answering his phones nor returning text messages. If you hire these people only do so through Yelp so you can get $ back when he cancels literally 3 minutes before they are supposed to be unloading. Absolute trash. read more

The movers moved to slow. One of the guys said to me "They are not Robots" they were taking a lot of breaks as well. even had time to record them taking a break on their on phone & smoking. I did have a few boxes that I still needed to pack up when they got there but, I had to holler out to them a couple times because they were just sitting in the truck. Once we got to the storage unit they were complaining that my unit wasn't big enough when actually it was. I had someone else go back to the unit to move things around because they didn't do a great job stacking my items. Once I had someone else rearrange my items, had more then enough room. I ended up paying a lot of money for the move & for the service I received, it truly wasn't worth it. Overall the guys were nice, no complaints about that. Ask me about my refrigerator! It's still scratched up and dented! Ask me if Jason has ever called me about repairing the refrigerator his movers damaged, which he promised to fix. The answer is NO!!! This company only wants your money and once they're paid, that's it!!! If they damage anything, Jason will tell you he'll call you to repair it but he never does and that's because he got paid!!! We recently moved from Virginia to Michigan. We had our stuff shipped in a container and we needed help unloading and assembling our furniture. I called multiple moving companies and J&J Moving had the best competitive price. On the day of our move, they were supposed to arrive early afternoon, instead they were very late, arriving in the late afternoon. I was stressed out and worried that the guys would be exhausted because they worked the entire day moving another family. I spoke with Jason, the owner, and he guaranteed the guys would be here to help our family. Jason went above and beyond to compensate for the inconvenience. He sent one more person with no extra charge. In addition, he gave us a discount for the delay. Maurice, Jordan, and Travis arrived at our house, started unloading the container, and due to time limit, they were only able to assemble our beds. They were very professional, polite, and respectful. Despite arriving so late and being tired, they worked hard and fast. The team was organized and finished everything at a decent time. They responded quickly to our request, had the movers on site with only a day's notice, and very quickly and efficiently packed both a truck and U-box. They shrink wrapped the furniture, used blankets to pad them, and arranged the furniture and boxes in the truck and U-box so nothing would be damaged. Jason sent two movers; clearly day workers. I had everything packed up and ready to move out to the next place. Some things (I.e tvs, mirror and large furniture required wrapping. No problem...except both movers moved very slow. In the end, the movers left a queen bed frame behind on the steps of the 3rd floor townhouse. Spoke to Jason about it. His response was I should have done a walk thru and the movers said I was rushing them. That's BS! J&J tried to make a money grab by slow walking the move. Unfortunate, he blamed me and didn't make a partial refund I requested. See the pictures of where the fur arrive was left behind for yourself! BTW, I have one of the movers my extra queen bed. They plastic wrapped the mattresses and box springs to keep them clean and loaded the Pod so efficiently that we had to make a trip to our storage unit and picked up more boxes that we never dreamed would fit into the Pod. We were planning on making a second trip to Michigan to move more boxes and they saved us the trip, that is worth hundreds of dollars saved.
