I scheduled a move and Sarah accommodated my last minute scheduling. Sarah sent the POWER TEAM of Demetrius and Demetrio, whom I have affectionately nicknamed The DOUBLE D's (LOL). Demetrius and Demetrio arrived slightly early and ready to go to work! I had most of my things already packed in storage containers on wheels and few other things in boxes. Demetrius and Demetrio moved my items from the house to the deck off the backyard onto the truck and they were prepared with all the equipment necessary (ramps, bumper pads, etc) to make the move smooth, efficient and to prevent damage to my things. These two moved so quickly, I was amazed and couldn't pack my remaining things fast enough! They were willing to wait for me to pack or they offered to take my things as is but I had them take what was already packed. We met at my storage unit which on this day was surprisingly packed with people and other moving companies moving in. Demetrius and Demetrio engaged with the other movers and all were respectful to them during our move. Demetrius and Demetrio packed my unit as requested and they packed and stacked EVERYTHING SO VERY NEATLY and with care for my items. EVERYTHING was totally organized! Nothing could have gone any smoother than this move! The price value to book my last minute move was very good for me and I tipped them both as EVERYONE should do with professional movers such as these two. When I returned back to the house, it wasn't until the packed items had been moved that I realized how much MORE packing I still needed to do, so I text Sarah to schedule a FINAL move for 2 days later and I specifically requested Demetrius and Demetrio (The Double D's). Even on such short notice, Sarah made it happen and scheduled me. Again, Demetrius and Demetrio showed up on time even during a rain storm with high winds...ready to work and help me move all my things out. Again, they both setup my items in the house to move quickly during this rain storm and by the time they finished setup, the storm stopped and they moved everything out. I shed tears of HAPPINESS at how clean and empty it was in there when they were done. After they moved those items into storage, I again tipped them both because they were worth it! I am definitely recommending Balance Detroit Moving Company and the POWER TEAM - (The Double D's) Demetrius and Demetrio!!

I suggested in the morning we tackle that first thing and that they take the doors off. Long story short- they save it until the end, do not take the doors off, do not take the bannister off the wall, damage my walls, the cabinet is stuck at the bottom of the stairs and they wanted to be paid (cash only! another thing they didn't tell me up front) with the promise someone else would come back and move the cabinet a couple hours later. Only by withholding payment did I get the cabinet removed (they had to take the bannister off and doors to accomplish). Other furniture of mine they moved had some damage. I gave them the opportunity to fix the wall damage or make arrangements with the new buyers to have fixed and I got ghosted and stuck giving up some of my security deposit to cover. They didn't move everything, their truck was too small, and they quit in the middle of the move. We paid for 3 movers only 2 worked, while the owner mostly whined and complained it was too hot. The owner was verbally abusive about my son in law not helping them when we hired their company to do the move. My son in law was there to put stuff together because we already hired movers. The owner didn't want to work in the heat. We offered to give a few hours off but he wanted to return the next day which was not what we agreed to when we hired them. They did not unload my refrigerator, deep freezer, washer, dryer and beds. In addition to a full half of truck, in violation of our written agreement. We had to call another moving company, after these movers walked away with the job half finished, and pay them to finish the job. I've had to notify police of the company owners threat and plan to notify the BBB as well. Do not use this absolutely atrocious company.

They did such an amazing job getting everything out of place #1 and loaded into the truck. They clearly are good at Tetris! And had everything unloaded into place #2 in 2.5 hours. We had an issue where my fridge wouldn't fit into my kitchen and Garrett was willing to get tools to help take off the doors to make it work. Now, had he come to see the pace prior as my father offered or even asked for pictures/video maybe this could have been remedied, but Cornelius ego, hubris and extreme lack of professionalism and experience dictated otherwise. This is actually a 3.5 star review…read more I utilized this completely twice. The first time they came to do a clean out of my rental property. They were courteous, prompt and professional. I had zero complaints. The second time I used them was for a move. The team that was a different set of guys who were equally as prompt, but not super detail oriented as their older counterparts. The first things that stood out was their difficulty to handle the truck they were driving and the strong scent of marijuana emanating from someone as they entered the door and a couple of other observations that appeared to be well received. In spite of it, they were hard working and agile. The problem didn't present itself until after the job was completed and we went to lock up the storage unit to find everything had been haphazardly placed making it impossible to access anything, especially in my physically handicapped state. I did call to give feedback and photos were sent. They were very apologetic and immediately promised they would come back and rectify the situation, saying they agreed it was definitely not acceptable by their own standard either. Since then, there have been several scheduling issues and a couple of times now I have been bumped or shuffled around due to "unforseen circumstances" even though I was on their schedule. When I made this 10/31/25 appt, I specifically asked for a day and time when I would not likely be shuffled because I have other things and people's time in my day that will be thrown off as well. I was apologized to and assured that I would finally be prioritized and taken care of, so I scheduled for the following week, which was yesterday 10/31 at 10am. Once again I didn't get a confirmation call or text, until I called, only to be told on top of the full team not being on time for work, another customer had unexpectedly bumped my time and the inconvenience was being passed down to me by way of the promised time slot being once again bumped. Still, I tried to adjust, again, but 30 minutes later and after being made to feel once again that I was not actually a priority (maybe because this was not another paid job), I cancelled. I just wasn't in the mood to have my day thrown off again. I came to the realization I not my time was not valued and there was no residual value to the $1,800.00 I had already spent, (this was definitely not the way I was handled before those jobs). Customer service and retention is everything and this fell short, I was so prepared to recommend and refer them until all this took place. I just don't feel valued as a paid/paying customer and certainly don't want to feel culpable if someone I know experiences the same as a result of my referral.
