Run as fast as you can away from liberty Mutual Insurance I had Hartford insurance for many years, but my premiums kept going up so I decided to go with Liberty Mutual. OK no problem ha ha two months later I get a letter from them saying that they noticed I had a dog that displayed aggressive behavior, and had confirmed bike history, and I had boarded up windows, oh my God they did not go over my home. I have brand new windows all the way around I do not have boarded up windows I've never had an aggressive dog. I have a wiener dog that is blind and deaf. That is always in his stroller. If we go anywhere with him, I said prove it prove that I have a history of my dog having bite history prove that I have boarded up windows you did the wrong house but no they said no we're still going to cancel you because they had a drone go over my home and supposedly saw all this, but I took pictures and sent them to them when I received my policy this is fraud. This is libel. How dare they write something like this for canceling my insurance with all this is false look at the pictures of my home on the Internet. There is no boarded up windows. My home is beautiful. I have a Corvette in the garage I'm not a ghetto person and this is exactly what they're saying on the paper so to make a long story short I told them to F off and I went to US AA thank God I did they save me $700 so they told me that all they were going to do is cancel my homeowner, but I could still stay with my cars ha ha ha I don't think so I would never ever ever go with liberty that's all I have to say on this thank you for reading just be aware that I guess insurance companies can state false claims and they won't prove it. Their client was 100% at fault for hitting me. There was video proof so they accepted liability right away. I also got a rental through my insurance until Liberty took it over. They also reimbursed me for the tow truck.. Off to a good start, I'm thinking. I have injuries so I start treatment on a Friday. Monday morning I am getting a call from the medical adjuster asking how long treatment is going to take and how bad is it really.. She called again later that week trying to offer 700 bucks and said they will pay for treatment for one month. I refused, she was pissy. Next call 2 weeks later.. "How often are you getting treated?" I say, "3x a week." (car t-boned - concussion migraines/whiplash/back/ hip) She says, in a very snarky voice, "Wow, that's a lot." I then say I was advised to not speak with her until treatment is completed and I will not entertain any offer until it's done. She said she is going to call me anyway. Van was a total loss, this is a different adjuster. I agreed to a payout amount, send in the title the next day and returned the rental. I expected the money straight away (agreed to EFT to speed up the process) as I live rural and need a car. It's been two weeks. She tells me the file is now under review. WHAT?? I email and call her everyday asking where it's at in the review process (both because she doesn't respond) and after a couple of days she tells me it's still under review and she will let me know when the funds are transferred.. POST TRANSFER, NOT WHEN THEY WILL BE. Moral of the story, negotiate the rental and be clear about their internal process pre-payout when your vehicle is totaled. Do not expect a fast turnaround, for sure. I will be retaining a lawyer when my treatment is at the end so I no longer have to talk to them. read more

BEWARE! Any homeowners claim above a $1000 payout will almost double your insurance premium. I had wind damage to a few shingles and took out 80' of my fence. My estimates were close to 3900.00 to do everything up right. I currently spend $965 a year with Liberty (already high) and their CSR, who used Liberties Premium Impact tool; my new premium will jump to $1700.00. One you make a claim and get an inspection of the damage, BUT YOU/CONTRACTOR HAS NOT YET BEEN actually paid, you can no longer resind the claim, no matter if you refuse their payout or not. Please beware. Liberty Claims people DO NOT HAVE TO WARN YOU ABOUT THIS! Any claim you make, no matter how small, gets reported to ALL US insurance companies, so you are screwed if you decide to shop around after a tiny claim marred your Insurance Worthiness Score. read more

Been dealing with my wife's stolen car claim for over a month. Don't deal with these liars

this company is a joke they don't help the client they help the other person. I was in a accident on 01-11-24 and video and police report that the person was at fault they turned it around and said i was at fault it did not matter what the police and two witnesses said she was driving down the road with out head lights and they turned around and put me at fault and know i have to pay this lady money and she gets a big settlement i would never tell any one to go with this company after there statement that our police don't have any right to say who is at fault and the insurance have all the say. I was a long time, never late, never used Liberty Mutual ins customer. Since the pandemic I have lost my job and called LM to ask if there was a way I could reduce my premiums for home and auto. The man I spoke to just laughed at me and told me they didn't have "discounts for old people". I thought this guy was just being a jerk and tried back the next day. Talked to a different man who proceeded to tell me that LM was not going to reduce my preminum and that if I "wanted insurance then I'd have to pay for it". I hung up and started calling around for different companies prices. When I called to cancell my LM insurance, of course the person who I talked to first couldn't help me and sent me to a "supervisor" who told me I couldn't cancel my insurance on the last day of the month. That they could not cancel my insurance at 12:00pm on Oct 31st (why?) He said he would have to report me (to who?) that I was cancelling my LM insurance and my new insurance would not start until 12:01am the next day. Huh?????? Report one minute of no ins to who???? He also said that I was not able to cancel my homeowners ins until the end of Nov because of their system! I told him I was not paying for November, so consider it cancelled. My goodness, all these years I have never used their service but paid such a high price and I never knew their service was so bad!!! Called to remove someone from my auto policy and was advised that my rate is now going UP? WTF? The risk factor was cut in half so my rate goes up? I was also then informed that married folks' get a break generally as well. Is that because there are probably more single adults than married couples nowadays? We were in an accident involving a driver (at fault) that carried Liberty Mutual. Our assigned claim adjuster from Liberty Mutual had an attitude that she really didn't care about our "inconveniences" as she called them, from this accident. They would not issue us a tow truck, and took 2 days to get us a rental car (finally arranged by the auto body shop that went above and beyond for us). My husband did not go to work for 2 days. Claims adjuster at Liberty Mutual could have cared less. She never bothered to get any of the facts straight. read more

Very unethical Company. They don't want to pay to have your wrecked vehicle to be repaired correctly so they Totaled my Truck instead. Then I get accused of Fraud so they started their own investigation and still haven't received any payment from them for two weeks now. Subsequently I received a notice from them that they are raising my rates and then another letter followed saying they were canceling my Insurance. This Company is a joke. read more

Run, don't walk from Liberty Mutual. Better yet BUY your insurance from a trustworthy company. Liberty Mutual has slick ads but they don't deliver and cannot be trusted. First, they raised my rates over $800.00 for one speeding ticket (11 miles over ) and one safety belt citation. Later, I was hit by another vehicle and the Liberty Adjuster found I was at fault although I was never cited by the police or given any ticket and an independent witness confirmed my version of the incident. SAD. Worse, the Liberty claims adjusters were unprofessional, rude and demeaning plus they don't communicate with you or return calls. Here is the bottom line. If you are going to spend your hard earned dollars on insurance, you can do better than Liberty Mutual AKA Safeco almost anywhere else. I changed. Because of Liberty , I have to pay more for a awhile (because my record shows an accident) but, in the end, I am savings at least $900.00 that I would have wasted if I stayed at Liberty and will save more in the future.
