We are locals here in Livermore and have been using Liberty Tax Service for over 13 years We came to them because of a previous text prepare who wasn't performing the job properly he was Very expensive we have a business and our tax paperwork is quite extensive we do not trust to just anyone liberty text rescued us and we have been with them ever since and would not use any other tax service they communicate well And are will updated on all new Tax Laws and information we recommend highly Not sure where the one stars came from doesn't make sense at all read more

I started going to Liberty Tax three years ago. I was a little nervous about it at first. I was wrong. My experiences at Liberty have always been positive, beginning with the smiles and welcomes that I ever receive. The best part? My returns have always been filed promptly and correctly. Much better than other more expensive tax preparers that I have had the last couple of years. I dont remember the employees names but I'll share our experience with this place. We made an appointment and walked into discover that the person who made the appointment was not even at the office that day. The ladies there knew who we were looking for but didn't try to contact him, instead, they let us sit in the lobby for 20 minutes. It wasn't until we spoke up that they said, "Oh we can help." Well she was very slow and had "computer issues" so we left. Complete waste of time. read more

DO NOT GET YOUR TAXES DONE HERE! My wife and I went in last Friday to file our taxes in hopes to get a tax advance (which we did not end up qualifying for, however that happens) and for beginners, the lady doing the taxes didn't really seem to know what she was doing. They needed to keep our paperwork to make copies and to complete the packet and said they would call us when they were ready. Well we went through all weekend and didn't hear a thing from them, went in yesterday to get our packet and the lady (not the one thst did our taxes) said that they usually do not give you the packet and your originals back until the refund has gone through (wtf?!). My wife was going through the packet tonight and noticed that they charged almost $500 for a basic return w/4 dependants and through out the entire process we were there they never once mentioned how much the charge would be for them to file (we would have just used Credit Karma like we have for the past two yrs... It's FREE!). We are waiting for a call back from the owner of the facility at this moment but I don't imagine a call coming anytime soon. Their reviews says It all. If I could give this place a "0" stars I would definitely do it. They have the worst service ever. Super slow and overpriced. Julia apparently the owner has no manners and etiquettes of speaking to a client. I called them regarding my taxes last week and was expecting a call from my filer which never happened. I scheduled an appointment online to have my taxes done for 9 a.m. on a Saturday. I was moving out of the area the next day so I needed my taxes to be done the same day. I received several text confirmations of my appointment location and time. I arrived and the office was closed. I called the number on my text confirmation and left a message. I was contacted back by Agustin apologizing that I should not have been able to schedule an appointment at that time since they do not open until 10 a.m. he stated I could come back at 10 a.m. I advised that I did not have time to wait which is why I made an appointment. I was moving the next day and had lots of things to do. He said for me to drop off my paperwork for him specifically and he would take care of it for me. I arrived and dropped everything off around 10:30 a.m. and was advised he would contact me if he needed anything further. At 4:30 p.m. I called asking for an update since I hadn't heard anything. I was told they never started and it was my fault that I didn't let them know it was urgent to do the same day. After being understandably upset their response was "do you want us to start it now or not?" They are only open for 15 mins at this point and of course they still will not be done today which defeats the point. I am moving 2 1/2 hours away the next day, there is no reasonable way for me to come back and if they could not do the same day when I dropped it off then they should have told me. Hopefully, my husband can make it in time to get our paperwork now that he has to drive over there ASAP. Disappointed, frustrated and just let down. Not acceptable to not communicate if they weren't even going to look at it the same day. I would advise to use a different location and call if you set an appointment to make sure they will truly be open and that they understand it's to have it completed the same day since those things are not obvious and are your fault if you do not explicitly state that. read more

I had a short form tax document that took maybe 15min to complete even with small talk and I was charged $200 for the service. Over priced and I did not get as much of a tax return as I could have because they did not account for my interest paid on student loans or uniform expenses. read more

When filling out my online app for covered CA enrollment, Agustin told me to come in right away, and he helped me as much as possible until the coveredca.com server limited the pace. I appreciate Agustin so much!! And to top it off, his time is volunteered! Many of the provided agencies in the East Bay that I dialed had been listed online prematurely as they had not gone through the full enrollment counselor training yet. Worst service ever! I paid $400 and had to fax the IRS 29 pages. They were worthless. After doing the worst job filing taxes they wouldn't even refund my money. I take that back they didn't even do their job, I did it for them. Do not ever get your taxes done here. It is a rip off. read more

If you want old-fashioned personal customer service, Liberty is the place to get your taxes done. The two Livermore locations are family-owned and make you feel like you are seeing family when you come in to do your taxes. Both Julia and Augie are very knowledgable & have shown me many ways to save $$ on my taxes. I can't say enough good things about them! read more
