I hate all things taxes but Linda and Natasha are great! They take the stress out of taxes! First the office is lovely! It's women owned and you can tell! No old stale crusty furniture here! Linda has a great eye and her office reflects that. She has beautiful velvet couches, a mini arcade for the kids, and sometimes offers gifts! During Christmas she hosted a customer appreciation party and offered us delicious snacks and wine! As a Jew business owner I felt overwhelmed with questions! Taxes deadline always comes so fast, so this is exactly what happened to us this year. My husband and I were really unsatisfied with the work, tax preparer made for us previous year, so this year we were thinking to find someone really reliable, accurate, careful and knowledgeable. One of my colleagues recommended me Natasha in this Liberty Tax location. We called prior to make an appointment, so we chose time convenient for all of us. Since we are full-time working family, it is not easy for us to do our business during working hours, but Natasha made it work for us. We are really happy, that we found this place, because when you live in California, you care about every and single penny of yours, and these guys helped us to save some money in our family budget. At the same time they did our taxes very professionally! We are family of two with few 1099, 1099-k forms + two w2 forms, so it was not the simplest tax form, but they found out the best deductions for us, so we ended up paying less taxes than we could imagine. I don't know why anyone would ever want to do their own taxes when you can come to a place like this. I had gotten a free tax consult through a coupon/ gift card and went in to take advantage of getting my taxes done. Ever since I have worked I have always prepared my own taxes and for the most part i knew what I was doing. But when I came in here , turned out i missed a few potential credits and ended up recieving the largest tax return in a long while. WHO LOVES MONEY!!?!? The staff was great. C was incredibly helpful in answering my questions and exceeded my expecations when I bombarded him with a series of completely unrelated questions regarding my personal business ventures and how to handle the taxes for them. I'm not to sure what to think. I never received my return from the IRS, Linda had my 2018 tax just filed. She also was saying she couldn't remember things. She charged me $190. On a tax that had been filed previously. This has been an unpleasant experience. When someone literally does something to cause you heartship. Sad. I'm disappointed that she only brings her son up to me. I have no interest, do not believe everything you read about someone. You have to rely on integrity. And nothing that is written on Megan's law is 100, you know that. Do not be fooled by Photo shop pictures. Imagine your a normal everyday person who's had their life turned upside down, because of jealousy and greed..I'm not refering to liberty tax. I'm saying that not everyone accused of something guilty. My experience I'm sure was a product of something that was given too Mich thought into negative things never really happened. We came here for our 2010 Tax Return. The people were friendly and tax preparation was quick and easy. But a few months later, my self and a few other members of my family got audited by the IRS. Liberty Tax have not been helpful in resolving or helping with any process of the audit. Your pretty much on your own. read more

This place is a ripped off. I took Liberty Tax class last year in October to December 2014. The class is free, but you have to pay for the books which cost $239. To me, that is expensive. I had to come to this class twice a week for 3 hrs and half. I had really bad experience with this class because my teacher is clueless, not helpful at all. On top of that, she had no certificate as a tax preparer. I don't know how and why she got this job as a teacher. I would come to class and she made students read the books. Each student read a paragraph to finish a chapter. When we got to the problems, all she did was giving us the answers and didn't explain us the answers. Sometimes in class she would have phone calls and the class was put on hold so she could on talk on the phone with whoever. How unprofessional is that! I finished the class and didn't learn anything from this class. Oh, when students have any questions, she would tell the students to ask my friend. I am thinking is she the teacher or my friend is the teacher. My teacher didn't get pay to teach the class, she did! My first or second week there, the owner of the Liberty Tax came to welcome us and did a little presentation about their company. While they were doing their presentation, I got my camera out to take photo of the slides and they told me not to do so. I had no idea why. When I was in college, none of my teachers had any problems of me taking pictures or recording the lecture. To me, that is fishy. They made me feel like they probably did not want the students to expose their dishonesty here. After they finished their presentation, they asked if any students are interested in working for them so they would do the interview. I raised my hand and did an interview with them and of course I didn't get hired. I believe that they didn't like the fact that I tried to take pictures of their slides twice. Thank god they didn't hire me. It is not a good idea to work for them since they pay their employees so cheap. Their paying rate is $13.25 or 13.75/an hour. They would pay you $5 for referral. They give you 1-5% of bonus and you only get this bonus only if you don't quit working for them before april. While they make $180 up to $400 for each client their employee file. That is ridiculous! I They would start off with a base of $80 then if you own a home, they would add $35, for business, add another $40 and so on. By the time, you are done answering questions of what you own or have, you may end up with $200 or more. Don't waste your time calling them because they will not answer your questions. They would trick you coming to their office and when you decide not to file tax with them, they would still pay them and you won't get out of their office for paying nothing! They have the scripts for students to know how to handle their clients. If you guys wanting to know how much they charge or how they break down the fee. I tried to upload the photo on here for you guys but the photo doesn't look that clear, but here is the break down: They start with a base of $80 If you own a house, add $35 If you own a business, add $40 If you own any rental property, add $35 for the first, and $10 for each additional one If you have any interest or dividend income, add $25 If you sell any stocks, add $35 For any additional wages, add $15 if you collect any Social Security/Railroad Retirement, add $15 If you have child care expenses, add $25 If you have any Births/Deaths to claim/report, add $15 If you are self-employed, add $25. I would advice people to file their tax on https://turbotax.intuit.com/. It is free and it probably only takes an hour or a little more of your time. The service here has been better. It took over an hour to get my taxes done here. As the person that was doing them had to stop and every click of a mouse to ask for help. Towards the end i was helping the lady. Yea she was nice but now I'm wondering if i should go to hnr and have them look at them again. Also i cant believe they dont have your previous files you have done with them accessible. I'm in the process of getting a home loan and i need some w2 and they dont have them because they are in storage and keep your w2. Like who does that? Storage? CHARGES TOO MUCH! This place is a joke, I filed my taxes Feb 1st & I'm not getting my refund until April via mail. They didn't verify my bank routing numbers & I got screwed big time. Then in turn blamed it on me. They did not take a voided check to verify my bank routing numbers. I didn't get any help from management as well, Alex was very hesitant and would not provide me with the name of the owner for this Liberty Tax branch, he stated he would not give me the name because "it's not how they do business"..Extremely sketchy..If you are particular about how you want your taxes done, go else where. You can find a better place that charges half the price and does a thorough job..FYI: They tried charging me $480 for a SINGLE person,Head of House and I itemize deductions..The previous tax place I went to charged no more than $180, complete RIP OFF..This place takes your money & whatever else happens after you file, you deal with it...Yes, I wanted a refund, I did not get what I paid for. I did not threaten with a negative review. I reported this branch to the Better Business Bureau. Awful experience!!! Absolutely will not be returning and definitely will NOT be referring anyone here. read more

Not happy with customer service the manager Tom was very rude . I was a returning customer and also referred my girl friend . That should be 50 dollars but because I didn't do my taxes they denied my cash for the referral . And Tom did not call me back after he said he would do his best to help me. And after I was a retuning customer I should have went to H&R block.....One more thing the manager Tom hung up the phone on me in the middle of talking. read more
