Because the date was close to the tax deadline, they said they were very busy and would need to file an extension for us before even being able to give us a quote for the cost of the tax preparation. We were in no rush, so we said that was fine and that we weren't worried about the cost. we were asked to drop off our 2021 taxes so they could use the information it contained to file the extension after which they would use it to provide us with a quote. I physically brought our 2021 taxes to their office on April 13 as they said the original was preferred over a scanned copy. I asked if they needed me to sign anything for the extension paperwork and they said no. Fast forward to today April 20 when they called to give us the price of doing our taxes and to see if WE had filed an extension! There was no apology for dropping the bal. Instead, they lied and said they never told us they would file an extension for us. What??!?? Why in the world would we have had that conversation or dropped off our taxes if not to have them help us with the extension and the 2022 filings?! When our extreme displeasure was shared with the accountant and asked what could be done to rectify the situation, we were told we would get a call back from the owner. He did call us back but only to say that he would put our 2021 taxes outside because they didn't want to do business with us anymore. Talk about bad customer service, bad business practices, and a lack of ethics! They should be ashamed of themselves!

They don't care about their customers, only about protecting themselves. People make mistakes -- it's part of life -- but Fidelity acts like they're above it all. Even if it's your first issue, they'll slam you with restrictions like you're a threat, without a shred of empathy or understanding. Their customer service is a joke. Good luck getting a rep who does more than copy and paste policy. They don't listen, they don't help, and they certainly don't care. Managers? Hidden behind layers of scripted nonsense and red tape. You're not a person to them -- you're a number, and the moment something goes wrong, they treat you like a liability. What's worse is they pretend to be all about clients, when in reality, it's all about control, image, and covering their own backs. I don't even have much money in my account with them -- but I'm closing it anyway. That's how disgusted I am by how they operate. It's not about the balance, it's about the principle.
