A fair selection of comics, including some local artists and cute kids books. Found some good deals on the slightly damaged markdown shelf - good savings for barely noticeable bent corners. I visited this place once as I often do business with bookstores. Unlike most other stores, this place doesn't buy used comic books (disappointing, but I can respect that) and all the stuff they do sell is brand new and often still sealed. They've got a great selection of hard cover and soft cover graphic novels, comic books and figurines. The guy I met there was very nice and the place has a modern and chic decor that adds to the atmosphere. They also carry free comic books on Free Comic Book Day, so it's definitely worth a visit. read more

Cute little comic book shop that's well kept and up-to-date. It's run by three friends who are passionate about comic books. They have a very good selection of comic books and an assortment of board games. I've been here a few times with a friend and have to say that I'm pretty impressed. The prices are very good, their sticker price is cheaper than the USA price printed on the back. As well, if you subscribe to their loyalty card at no charge, you get 10% off. 20% off on pre-orders. I picked up an Archie comic textbook for a gift, and my friend bought a bunch of comics that were apparently sold out in the states. So I think there's a little bit of something for everyone. read more

I've been to Crossover precisely twice. Once for a gift for a friend... and a second time because I kept seeing something in their window.. and eventually after a few weeks was pulled into get it. Shops nice and clean and they seem to have a good variety of stuff. As someone that doesn't read comic books, I have to say this place was great. With some niche or genre businesses things can be very exclusionary. You can walk in and feel out of place, like you're lurking or unwelcoming. Both times I visited, the guys at Crossover were absolutely wonderful, super welcoming and super helpful. I will definitely be in again. I also appreciate the stuff you put in your front window.. I regularly walk buy with my dog to scope out the interested and varied stuff on offer. read more

Got to check out the shop today and it was incredible! One of the owners, George is family, and he did an amazing job of showing us around the store! You can tell that this store is fueled by passion from the people behind the counter. They really know their comics and are able to recommend pretty much anything based off what you're looking for. There's even a downstairs section where they host daily/weekly card game tournaments; today it was a league match for Magic the Gathering. They had an extensive knowledge of just about every time on their shelf which shows you the time and effort they take in order to properly curate their selections. There were great options of pop figures, models, board games, graphic novels & comics. With everything from classic series to local works, there is definitely something for everyone. We were able to get great gifts, and even left with some personal choices as well! One of their most popular series is called Saga, I've heard great things and am waiting to open my first volume! The store even worked with another series that their fond of in order to get a custom cover with their logo on it. With this kind of dedication & love put into their craft, there is clearly no other option. Even if you know absolutely nothing about comic books, I guarantee they will find something that will appeal to you, and educate you in a way that helps you understand why that choice is relevant! This is my go-to shop when I am home. I had been out of comics for quite a while and wanted to start buying again, so the DC Rebirth series seems like a good launching point. I travel for a living, so most of my collecting is done wherever I am at the time, but I wanted to find a shop near my (new) home in St-Jean-sur-Richelieu, and that meant going into Montreal. I did a little research and Crossover was the closest, if only by a little, so I went in and was greeted by the very friendly fellas that run the place. I also went to a couple of other shops, just to see if I found "The One". The second visit the following week, I was greeted with "Hey Dan!" as soon as I walked in the door. We talked a bit while my daughter, 2 at the time, wandered around and looked at all the cool toys. While I was paying she decided, rather emphatically, that she wanted one of the gaming die that were at the counter and, now I don't remember who was working at the time, but they just reached over and gave her one. That cemented it for me. They know I'm not going to be their biggest customer, they know I buy mostly while I'm away. They don't seem to care. I have a couple reserves there to maintain an account, and that was their idea. Now when I'm in god-knows-where, I can call up and say, "Hey, I found everything but last week's Batgirl" and they say "Got it, we'll put it away for you" My favourite comic shop.
