The shop is small and the staff didn't look up when I came in. They spoke to the regulars and chastised a customer for opening a bagged back issue but it was otherwise silent. They have the comics on racks separated by companies but no New Release section for monthly comics. It made browsing kind of difficult. I bought a trade paperback, a reprint floppy and a monthly issue of a new series. The tpb shelves were packed too tight in some places so there were pressure points on some of the books. I did appreciate the amount of ABSOLUTES and oversized hardcovers, though. Overall, I would go back again but I don't know that I would go out of my way.

He's up to date with all the comics & collectibles, his inventory has something for everyone. Each time I'm in there, he's got SOMETHING new- everything from 8000+ new comics or even a record collection. A major attraction to Roys shop is his willingness to buy things from customers, for a reasonable price of course. He buys / sells gold & silver at competitive market prices as well, for those in that side of the business. All in all, Roy does a good job keeping up with the pulse of Comic industry and has more collectibles than anyone could really imagine,

I'm happy there's a huge used bookstore in Burlington since the two stores on Church Street carry mostly overpriced new books, and there are some other issues I have with these two stores, so I don't shop at either. I have already found some great used books at Speaking Volumes, and hope to find more in future. The Fiction/Literature section is voluminous, and I'm hoping that eventually the Sci-Fi is separated from the Fantasy--that's an old categorization that was already outdated in the 80s. The Mystery section is pretty nice with Christie, Hammett, Chandler, and others. Overall, this place is a reader's dream.
