I was told rather rashly and very rudely I wasn't allowed in her store because I was open carrying my sidearm. I understand it's her business but It's not my fault Oregon doesn't accept my CPL. Every year I visit, this was the first store I always looked forward to visiting. We spend anywhere from $100 to $500 Every year for the last 15 years. I will never go there again. The shop owner could have handled herself with a more respectful and professional attitude. I do not recommend supporting this store to anyone who carries a firearm for self defense. This is a really fun store to visit - it's an antique mall, with so many vendors contributing unique and fascinating items! One thing I really appreciate about the store is that they support a local cat rescuer, and with some of the items, like the Hello Kitty items featured in my photo, all profits go for food and medical care for the kitties. Another fun antique vintage store along this road. This one one of our favorite stores we visited with a large variety of items from all the vendors. Well I guess that could be said for a lot of places but we liked the layout, the staff and just browsing around the store finding things we did not know we needed. Homeless people camping out against the back of the building. The prices in this store were more inflated than in any other antique store within 1 1/2 hour drive. 200-300% of full retail for made in china garbage is not a winning business model. Perhaps they are independently wealthy. People working there were friendly enough, overlooking the dramatic screaming fit the lady had at her own dog when a customer came into the store with a dog. Lots of made in china crap up front in glass display cases and what seemed to be a collection of venders throughout the store with a mix of genuine antiques and lots of reproduction garbage trying to be passed off as legit old stuff. read more

Where do I begin? They are nice, the place is clean and diverse, yadada... but oh man! The fan merchandise... They had everything from F*R*I*E*N*D*S to Marvel to Lego to Star Wars. But the show stopper for me was (drum roll please) Studio Ghibli. They had everything from totes, lanyard, Christmas ornaments to plushies. But the coup for me was a 7" statue scene of No Face sitting on a log under a lamp. I've been looking for that for years. Such a find. I'll be back. read more

Grannys Attic - Thrift Stores Near Me - Lincoln City, Oregon

This place is more of a junk/trinket/souvenir store than an antique store. If you want tacky shot glasses, faux Native American "art" or Star Wars "collectibles", then this is the place for you. Sure, there are some antiques here, but what they do have is WAAY overpriced. Unfortunately many "antique stores" here in Lincoln City seem to follow this apparent trend of selling cheap gifts and toys rather than actual antiques. UPDATE 3/29/19 The owner of this place, apparently named "Lori A" has sent me several messages to express her displeasure of my review. She in fact messaged me so many times that I had to report her for harassment, and block her on Yelp. It became so frustrating and annoying that I had to try vulgar language to get her to stop - to no avail. I highly recommend that folks read the reviews of Granny's Attic before visiting. I'm certainly, by far, not the only customer who's had bad experiences, even though I was there nearly 6 months ago - still a problem. read more

Granny's Attic, but imagine granny was a con artist trying to flip items from the goodwill for triple the price. $29 dollars for used Los Angeles souvenir mugs? I'm from LA and I promise you that they're worth $5 new. Granny's Attic has tons of Lego Star Wars gear, but they've hiked the prices to unbelievable amounts. An opened MF box is being sold for nearly $1000 over its current market value (new and directly from Lego!). I asked very politely if I can get in touch with the owner of the booth and was aggressively shot down by an old woman who was desperate to close shop for her smoke break out front. I'm feeling incredibly uneasy by being rudely and blatantly lied to. I own the MF and wanted to grab a second for parts. The one they're selling is opened AND not the older version as they claim. It's from the newest film. Ridiculous. This place is not closed, it's very much open. read more

It's interesting that a year and a half later, I finally see a response from this lady (Lori) who seems to have a vivid memory of what took place way over a year ago. She indicated that I was the "rude man" who purchased the vintage record player. My wife was actually the person doing the inquiries and who, in the end, made the purchase. Yes - the purchase was for me - but my wife was the one doing the transaction. I was just reporting on the behavior that I was observing from the person working with my wife. Interesting.......... I believe that the Facebook post is from a friend of Lori who is trying to stick up for her. All that said - we still make it a point to go into this store when we are in the area because it is laid out nicely and can have some very interesting items. I believe that Lori was having a bad day, stressed, and unfortunately, (and maybe unknowingly) was a little off her game and didn't realize how she was coming across. read more

Ouch. I love Granny's Attic, I always walk in when visiting Lincoln City, and usually walk out with something! The staff are actually very friendly and outgoing. No one, or no place is perfect. Hell, I might even buy something from the dollar store and try to sell it for a buck-50 at a garage sale, (maybe the Bible is not the most appropriate item to use), it's all about making money. Despite previous negative interactions, this place seems to have come under new management and turned themselves around. When we went this summer they were friendly and had a good selection. If you're looking for old books they had some interesting ones for sure. read more

People who work here are mean! They treated my 18 and 19-year-old children like criminals and when they went to purchase something my daughter was yelled at! My kids are respectful and kind and did not deserve such cruel treatment. Avoid this place!!!! I have made many purchases in the past but will not give them another dollar. read more

The lady working here was incredibly rude. Just because we were laughing she came over and accused us of breaking things. She said verbatim: "Just so you guys know this isn't a toy store. You can't run around breaking things." We were confused because we had not broken anything and they actually sell quite a few toys there. Needless to say she lost our business. Has some cool stuff, but I would never buy from there because they were selling (or allowing a dealer to sell) Gideon bibles, which are FREE bibles placed in hotels and other places by a charity. We have been to Granny's Attic, Lincoln City OR, several times. Today will be our last. The person opening the shop was rude and negative. When walking through a booth, my pant leg brushed against a bowl that was on a shelf about 10" above the floor. It fell and shattered. I called her over and asked her to call the dealer to see what she paid for the bowl so I could reimburse her. The salesperson was negative and disgruntled, not wanting to call and claiming SHE would have to pay for it. Excuse me, I'm asking you to call so I CAN pay! She all but called me a liar, repeatedly stating there was no way the bowl was near the edge. Really? I apologize and say it is my fault for brushing too close to it AND I'm offering to pay for it (which I don't have to do) and SHE is being rude and nasty. We are also in the Antique business, that is no way to treat a paying customer (yes we bought something else, too). She was also nasty to my husband for touching an unlocked cabinet door, he was just interested in the unusual hinge system of the cabinet, not in what was in it. Sorry, you lost a customer! read more
