5/2019 African Mask(*) and art(*) from Libush International Sac,CA
    Amaya S.

May 2019 my mother (Anise) and I were in Sacramento celebrating her 85th birthday This was her first time to the city. We spent hours looking at jewelry, clothing, wood carvings and more. As well as chating with the staff about your store. We purchased several items. Here's a photo of the mask my mother selected and surprise art you gave her. After having it framed I gave it to her. She was was so surprised Thanks so much... looking to seeing in 2020.

LiBush is a neat little store located on K Street in Old Sacramento in which almost everything is handmade and imported from Africa.

These ladies are taking advantage of people during the World Cup season. They charged my husband $85 for a knock‑off shirt and shorts. A few hours after buying it, my husband went back to exchange the set for a bigger size and they refused. He didn't want to argue, so he just left disappointed. If I had known ahead of time that this is what they were charging, I would've told him NOT TO BUY ANYTHING FROM THERE. Several people on Instagram are saying they were charged anywhere from $30 up to $85. They completely took advantage of the situation and kept raising the prices. I tried calling the store and they wouldn't answer. They know exactly what they're doing. It's awful to try to support our own people only for them to take advantage of us. I will never support this store again.

The shop was well-organized and beautifully maintained, making it easy to browse the wide selection of sarees, lehengas, and accessories. Since it was my first time wearing a saree, the staff was incredibly patient and helpful, taking the time to teach me how to properly drape and wear one. They made what could have been an overwhelming experience feel fun and exciting. While they didn't have my size in the lehenga I was interested in, they let me know they receive new inventory regularly and encouraged me to come back in a couple of weeks when new designs and colors arrive. I was also impressed by their jewelry selection, which offered plenty of options to complete a look. A special shoutout to Ash, who was absolutely amazing. She made me feel comfortable, confident, and excited to try on different styles. What stood out most was how genuinely helpful she was in finding options that fit both my style and budget. If you're looking for beautiful Indian attire and exceptional customer service, I highly recommend stopping by.

Initially, I was impressed by the wide selection of beautiful Indian dresses at reasonable prices. The vibrant colors, intricate beading, and variety of styles and sizes truly stood out. As someone who doesn't normally shop at Indian clothing stores, I was taken aback by how stunning the designs were. After spending about 2.5 hours trying on multiple dresses, my daughter, best friend, and I each chose two outfits. In total, we spent around $1,000, including alterations, and were asked to return in a week to pick up the altered dresses. The owner was kind and helpful during the selection process, even bringing out dresses for us, though I did notice some styles were not presented--possibly because they weren't available in my size. However, things started to go downhill after that. When we returned for the dresses, the alterations were completed, but the fit wasn't perfect. My dress was still baggy at the top, and my friend's dress didn't fit well in the bust area. The owner insisted adjustments like wearing a push-up bra would fix it, so we reluctantly accepted. Additionally, my dress had a strong odor that she dismissed as being from the plastic wrapping. The problems didn't end there. A day before the wedding, I discovered the skirt to my daughter's dress was missing. After hours of coordinating, the owner's son met me halfway in Fairfield to deliver it. Then, on the wedding day, my friend realized the scarf included with her dress didn't match--it was purple while her dress was blue. Worse, the pants from one of my daughter's dresses started falling apart before the event, even though they weren't tight or strained. Despite these issues, we enjoyed the wedding. But upon returning home, the odor on my dress became unbearable. Leaving it out for a week only intensified the smell. I took it to the cleaners, but they refused to clean it due to the beading. Left with no choice, I washed it delicately at home, which made the smell exponentially worse--so much so that my garage smelled like something had died in it. The odor was nauseating and lingered long after. I've since had to seal the dress in a trash bag and place it outside, but even then, the smell is noticeable. I contacted the store again to address the issue, but they haven't followed up. Their lack of concern for customer satisfaction, especially for someone not familiar with shopping at Indian stores, is disappointing. The experience left me feeling neglected and undervalued as a customer. Final Thoughts: While the dresses are visually stunning, be cautious. If you notice any strong odor on the clothing, avoid purchasing it. The smell can be overpowering, and the customer service post-purchase was not supportive. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this store due to the overall experience.

They also have a good selection of nativity scenes, traditional items for Christmas, religious artifacts, clothing, herbs, etc... they also have a section of voodoo items that I completely avoid. I've seen people walk in and ask for help on witchcraft stuff. I guess this store has something for everyone. Parking is somewhat limited and tricky if you're not used to the area. Price-wise , items are a bit pricey but a lot of the items you purchase here aren't available in most Mexican stores so the prices tend to be higher. The store hours are also incorrect. I've stopped by the store at 11AM, the time listed online, on different occasions but they're closed. I'd say 12PM is more accurate or they open whenever they want.
