Following his examination, he performed a biopsy which revealed it was basal cell carcinoma and thankfully not the more deadly melanoma. Surgery was scheduled for July 23rd, outpatient with general anesthesia. Skin in the scalp is very tight and it is a marvel to me how Dr Byrne was able to close a quarter- sized excision of skin (to get clear margins) with a very tidy 2" seam held together by 8 staples. This facility's staff was not only nehligent with violating HIPPA , sharing info loudly enough , for me and my driver to hear , as the two girls in the front continued to laugh and carry on like two hackling hyenas. What's even more bizarre, is that when you book for a consultation that's complimentary, they insist on a credit card , prior to even setting foot inside the facility. This is another red Flagg you should be on the lookout for. Nevertheless, upon waiting, while OutOf the waiting room, I noticed this facility uses , cheap, tools/ materials made by " wet and wild! " For those of you who aren't aware of the drug store inexpensive , non hypoallergenic, non eco friendly , NON- cruelty free , cheap cosmetic pens used for markings, Wet & wild is not a brand that any top plastic surgeon or better yet Medicsl facility's utilize. I did my due diligence by scheduling consultations with the physicians they suggested. Honestly, most practices offered a similar level of service. What set Dr. Armani apart, however, was his thorough understanding of the science behind hair transplantation and the clarity with which he explained the process during our consultation. He never tried to pressure me, nor did I receive any follow-up calls pushing me toward a decision. Instead, he simply helped me understand what a realistic outcome might look like. My wife, who is also a physician, was equally impressed by his expertise and how detailed--yet never overwhelming--his explanations were. Gives out suckers and popsicles as treats and has the TV playing in the waiting room even though all the literature they give out says to limit TV and give out very few treats. The girls love that part though, just seems hypocritical to me.
